Everyone was stunned by Henrique's behavior, and he just laughed, grabbed a large piece of cake with his bare hand, and walked away eating it. Luana lifted her face from the cake and wiped it with her hands, realizing she was a mess. She couldn't even see her own cake and began to sob.
She wasn't scared of Henrique, of the beatings he dealt her, the hair-pulling, or the times she got hit while learning to fight. But having her face, hair, and clothes smeared with stubborn frosting in front of all the guests, who were now laughing at her, was a humiliation she couldn't bear.
She stepped down from the chair where she had been standing and ran, slipping on a piece of frosting and falling face first on the floor, growing even more irate, and her entire body turned blue, not just her eyes. Natalia, noticing, picked up her daughter and rushed her to the nearest bathroom.
"There, dear, calm down, everything's fine, I'll help you."
Natalia soaked a washcloth in warm water and started removing the frosting that was caked on the little girl's face in her hands.
"Why, mommy, why does he do this to me, what did I do to him?"
"Nothing, sweetheart, you didn't do anything, he's just a fool. He's probably jealous of the attention Luna gives you."
"But I don't even ask for it, Mom. She just gives it."
"I know, my child, I know."
Natalia managed to clean her face and hands, but there was still frosting in her hair and on her dress, so she left the girl there and went to the bedroom to fetch other clothes.
Unsatisfied, Henrique knew where mother and daughter were and was just waiting for them to come out. When he saw Natalia leave, he took the chance and entered the bathroom, looking at the girl, noticing the frosting still in her hair.
"Yuck, what a mess, you need to wash that hair!"
He poured a liberal amount of liquid soap into his hand and spread it through her hair, creating an even bigger mess. Then, with his bare hand, he threw water and spread it more, generating a lot of foam; the soap got into the girl's eyes, and she began to scream from the burning sensation, and he just laughed.
"Stop it, Rique! Help me, my eye's burning."
"There's no shower here, come here, get closer."
She, eager to rid herself of the soap in her eye, approached him, and he, grasping the bidet sprayer, squirted water at her face, making things worse.
"Stop, Rique, stop!" she cried out, jumping up and down.
He kept squirting water at her, soaking her completely, removing the soap from her hair but, in turn, spreading it all over her dress. That's when Natalia walked into the bathroom and witnessed the dreadful scene. Since they hadn't noticed her entering, she quickly left and called Luna to see what her son was doing.
When Luna walked into the bathroom and saw the mess Henrique was making and how Luana was crying because of the soap in her eye, she was filled with intense anger. She grabbed her son by the ear, lifted him, and dragged him away, marching him to the back door and kicked him out.
"Take care of that pest of a son you've raised; I don't want him in the house today or you either."
After that, Luna ordered the servants to send everyone home; the party was over. She went to help Natalia take care of Luana and, once they had cleaned the girl and dressed her, they put her to sleep. What was supposed to be such a joyful day for her turned into a sad memory.
The next day, Elias and Natalia made a decision: they would no longer live in the Alpha's house. They just needed to talk to the couple in charge and would return to their home, to the modest life they had before because they could not continue to leave Luana at the mercy of Henrique, who was becoming ever stronger and more bothersome.
"See, Tulio, what has come of the violent upbringing you gave our son? Now I've lost the most precious thing I've received in recent years. They're going away, taking Luana with them, and who knows what kind of upbringing she'll have and when will I be able to see her again. You're banned from my room for a month, and if my anger doesn't subside, you'll stay out of my bed for a year."
"But it's not my fault, ever since Luana arrived he's been acting this way towards her, it's not my fault."
Meanwhile, the Alpha attempted to persuade his Luna not to ban him from her bed, Henrique listened and watched from the shadows. He realized he had crossed a line this time and could no longer count on the girl for his defense; he would have to redirect his aggression elsewhere, or else his father might start to think he was a weakling.
In the days that followed, Elias and Natalia moved back into their little cottage and tried to fix it up as best as they could. Elias continued to work in the guard, and Natalia took a job working with the pack's females in the garden. Natalia enjoyed going there with her and looking after the plants, but she also attended school part-time.
On one of these trips to school, she encountered Henrique, who insisted that she keep coming to the arena to practice fighting and learn new moves.
"Why would I come to learn how to fight with you after the embarrassment you caused me on my birthday? "
"Because I'm telling you to, have you forgotten that I'm the future Alpha? Be there tomorrow, with the dawn, no excuses. "
He said this and turned his back, striding towards the forest, and she headed to school, dreading the ordeal that would resume the next day.
Henrique was actually intrigued by the blue glow that emanated from her and intended to provoke her as much as possible, to see the radiance and discover what it was.
