Sarah took a deep breath and looked at Jake, her heart pounding in her chest. "Sure, Jake. What's up?"

Jake looked at her seriously. "I wanted to talk to you about what you said before. About how you feel about me."

Sarah felt a lump in her throat. She knew this was it. She was going to confess her feelings to Jake, and she was scared. But she also knew she had to be honest with him, and with herself.

"I know it may sound weird, Jake," she said, her voice shaking. "But I can't help how I feel. I've had feelings for you for a while now, and I wanted to be honest with you about it. I know it may not be the same for you, and that's okay. I just needed to tell you."

Jake looked at her with a mixture of surprise and confusion. "Sarah, I had no idea you felt that way," he said, his voice gentle. "I'm flattered, really. But I don't feel the same way. I think of you as a friend, and I don't want to ruin our friendship by getting romantic."

Sarah felt a pang off disappointment, but she tried to keep her cool. "It's okay, Jake," she said, trying to smile. "I understand. I just had to be honest with myself and with you. I hope we can still be friends, though."
