CHAPTER FIVE: THE COURT DEMOLITION

The 3 guys and Lora headed towards the football court.

Mark was vexed beacause of the practice time that was lost and hurried back towards the court while the others followed.

"Why is Mark always so troubled and tensed," Lora whispered to others.

Axle explained few things about their team members.

The team members were always playfull and Mark was the one who disciplined them by shouting at them.

It's not that they were not serious or disciplined regarding the game, yet Mark was required to get them on their tracks.

"And that's my job to trouble Mark," Noel said.

"But one thing is common in our group. That's we all love football and we all train ourselves to the best we can..." Axle said.

Lora felt lucky to be able to join the team. They were full of life and were always energetic.

They were about to reach the ground when they heard Mark ranting. The 3 of them rushed towards the field. They saw all the members sitting on the side lines and weren't practicing.

It was sufficient to make Mark annoyed.

"It's not our mistake," Gray one of the team member said.

Lora was waiting for the things to be spoken clearly. As Noel and Axle had described their team mates, she wasn't expecting them to sit idle even after Mark had assigned them a schedule.

"It's Sapphire," a spiky haired boy named Daniel spoke.

The 2 boys whispered behind Lora's back about Sapphire. She was a spoiled, rich brat, extremely troublesome and had previously created many difficulties for the group.

A scarlet haired girl moved forward followed by 2 others. The boys whipsered that the scarlet hair was Sapphire.

"You seem to be fine, than what are you doing with this foul smelling boys?" she questioned heading towards Lora.

"What are you doing here?" Axle questioned in a insolent tone.

"You have no right of questioning me after I dumped you," she said in her regular uncivilsed tone.

"As if the person who got dumped ever had a say in anythjng," Noel laughed in sarcasm.

Sapphire was exasperated.

"Sapphire you shouldn't..."the girl in fringes named Helina following her interupted.

"How many times have I told you to not interrupt me in between,"

She pushed Helina but Noel rushed in time and held her before she fell down.

Noel couldn't restrain himself. He was about to charge towards Sapphire but Helina stopped him.

"Noel... Don't...," Helina said in her humble voice as she balanced herself back on her feet.

Noel tried to calm down.

"I don't need an introduction but as you are new here... Will I'm the campus beauty and the head of all the events which occur on this campus,"

Lora was least interested in hearing but Sapphire had nothing to do with her interests.

"I would like to propose an offer for you," Sapphire said.

She propounded that she could become her ally and be famous in the college and can participate in all the campus events and could also lead them but the only thing she had to do was to quit the football team.

The team members wondered what would Lora reply except Mark, Axle and Noel. They knew what her response would be.

"I really appreciate that you thought I was capable of being a part of your group. It's an honour, that you are accepting a girl who is more interested in a foul smelling guy's play,"

"What are you trying to say? "Alex Sapphire's sycophant asked.

"That I'm not interested in following someone's footsteps. I'm more interested in creating my own way," Lora said. It was a cutting rejoinder.

Alex was nebulous but Sapphire was indignant.

"You will reject your decision,"

"We will see that," Lora said with confidence.

"Buzz off. We have a match to play here," Mark said sternly.

Alex and Sapphire begin to guffaw. Helina looked so contrite that she wanted to relent but couldn't.

"What's wrong," Noel asked Helina being worried.

"An edifice will replace this playground... And also I will be staying along with her..." Alex said as she persistently buttered Sapphire.

Lora could see the acquisitiveness in her black eyes.

"How can you build anything here. It's not your's to mess around," Lora said.

They were explained about an antiquated law.

There was a time when the school was in great crises. All the students and staff were involved in a combat.

Though the battle was won the college was completely demolished.

The principle didn't even had any remaining magical powers to reinstate the college.

That time to overcome the financial crises, the law was instituted that anyone could acquire any land from the school. That land will belong to them yet would be used by the school.

Anyone else who which to buy that land would have to pay the amount the previous owner stipulated.

That time the law provided great help and the school overcomed the crises.

Later the law was never used nor discarded as no one remembered about it.

The football ground belonged to Sapphire's great grandfather. Somehow Sapphire found the ownership papers.

As the law wasn't discarded Sapphire's dad was the current owner of the land.

"I expect I won't see you all on this ground ever again," Sapphire said.

"Captain won't we be able to play football?" Maruto asked timorously.

"We will surely find a way out Maruto,"

Mark was himself agonized. He knew even if if the entire team united all their money they won't be able to purchase the ground.

"Ignore about the entire team, I don't think even the union of the entire college would be able to pay the price of this land," Axle whispered to Mark reading his mind.

"My architect will be here soon along with the other workers. Are you all waiting to see the ground turn into pieces,"

"You can't muddle with the ground in anyways," Leona said appearing in a puff.

She informed Sapphire that the land over which she wrangle the football team was eventually bought by someone paying the exact amount she had asked for.

Sapphire couldn't believe her ears.

"On the contrary your father informed that he was ready to build the bungalow on this land as you convinced him that the rooms rendered were not comfortable enough... " Leona said.

"So..." Sapphire questioned enragingly.

"So he being generous, opposite to your nature, decided to donate the entire amount which he received for the land to the school..." Leona said, "We do lack money for good rooms you know," she taunted.

The football team was delighted.

"Who bought the ground?" Lora questioned.

A person as wealthy as nobody in the college had bought the land...

What will he do with that land...

Was he their saviour or he planned to demolish the ground and use it in his own way...
