Sandra's eyes widened and looked at the nurse. The nurse immediately called for the doctor in charge. As soon as the doctor arrived, Sandra got up to let him examine Liliana.
"Can you remember your name?" She shook her head.
"Where am I? What happened to me?" asked Liliana, confused.
"Lily! Honey!" said her mother and in panicked. "It's mom! It's me, Lily. Sweety! It's me, your mommy!"
"Ah my head! My head!" she shrieked. "It hurt! It hurt! My head! Aaahh!
"Lily, sweetie!" cried her mother.
"Everyone please leave first," said the doctor. "Hurry, sedate her!"
Mr. and Mrs. Hans left, leaving Liliona inside the ER ward but Sandra stayed and said,
"No! You want me to leave my daughter alone?"
"Mrs. Flax, please relax," said the nurse.
"Relax! How can I relax when my daughter is shrieking in pain!?"
"You being hysterical will just upset your daughter more," said the nurse calmly. "If you can't calm down, it's better that you leave first."
"Besides she's not alone the doctor is here to treat her. How about go with me, process her room so she'll be transferred right away."
Still worried, Sandra reluctantly but obediently left the ER ward with the nurse and another nurse came in.
Liliona silently watched the doctor and nurse administering Liliana sime pain medications. Soon two nurses came in bringing a bed stretcher with them. They carefully transfer Liliana to the stretcher then left the ER ward, leaving Liliona behind.
Liliona laid down and closed her eyes, listening to the noise of people coming in and out of the ER.
"She lost her memory?" she pondered. "How strong was her head hit on the railings? And also, what was those images I saw in my head earlier?"
Soon she fell asleep and woke up later in her own private room with Mr. and Mrs. Hans sitting beside the bed.
"Young miss, you're awake finally," said Mr. Hans.
She sat up and asked, "How long have I been sleeping?"
"The nurse said you've slept for almost ten hours," replied Mrs. Han.
"That long?" she said in surprise. "How long have you been here?"
"About thirty minutes ago."
"I see," she said with a tone of disappointment.
"What was I hoping?" she thought. "Well at least they're here to see me. I should be grateful for that."
"Madam and Master already knew your accident," Mrs. Hans said. "They.... ummm.." she stopped.
"Poor child," she thought. "When I came to pick her up from London, she was like a paper torn into two pieces. But after her parents' big fight that night, since then she's been like a glass shattered into small pieces."
"Young miss we'll be leaving soon," said Mr. Hans. "Madam already hired you a caregiver to take care of you while you're still in the hospital."
"I see," Liliona said quietly and coldy.
In Liliana's private room, the doctor explained everything to Sandra about her daughter's condition.
"She has mild TBI (Trauma Brain Injury) ," the doctor began. "A person with TBI is expected to show symptoms such as headache, memory loss, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, etc."
"For now she's showing two of the many symptoms so advise that she stay in the hospital for at least a week for observation," the doctor continued.
"If additional symptoms shows up such as fatigue, disorientation, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and many other TBI symptoms, she'll have to have a longer rest, at least a month or two; and of course with medications and/or therapy."
After explaining, the doctor left and went to Liliona's room to check on her. She did the same procedure and although she also hit her head, Liliona's fine and didn't suffered any memory loss.
Meanwhile, at LILAC (Locke Int'l Learning Academy), an urgent meeting was held to discuss the drowning incident.
