Chapter 19 - She Died

Locked. Alone. Lonely. Depressed. Pained. Upset. Regret.

They described her. Alone in the darkest

dungeon, she witnessed all types of imaginations. She heard every scary creepy

sounds that would fear her to death. She felt all the sorrows in the world with

no one beside her. Her only companion was her uncontrollable tears.

She always sat at the corner of the wall;

hugging her knees and putting her head over them. Crying and sleeping were the

only things she ever did. Sometimes she would stare at the wall for hours.

Thinking and thinking. But what? Nothing.

Her painful sobs would echo throughout the whole

dungeon hallway at midnight. She would clench her heart and cry like no end.

Gut-wrenching sobs that would tear her chest apart. She felt pain 24 hours non

stop. Her body would burn up and then turn cold within a second. One second she

would burn up and the next second she would shiver in cold. Her eyes were like

scarlet red that seemed like mad. Her cheeks had the stains of flowing tears.

She was fed once a day. But she barely ate or

drink. No appetite. No wish. No cravings.

She would lay down on the hard floor; facing the

ceiling. Feeling hot as there was no wind to calm her. At night, crawling bugs

made her puke in silence.

No one saw her fainting countless times. She

became an invisible prisoner who was no longer the beloved wife of Park Jimin.

Her breathings were the only sound of her days. And her sobbings at night.

Life really spun her around. Days passed there

in the locked cell under the kingdom with loneliness, sorrow and nothing.

Myeong Jo never ever saw the light again. Or ever heard the sweet voice of her

invaluable man or any men. Nor she did ever felt Happiness or Love.

Until one day, like all those days that seemed years, she was staring at

the wall; thinking nothing. Two guards came to her cell and began unlocking the

door. The door opened revealing their once Queen who looked nothing than a dead

mice right now.

"Umm......you have to come with us. Your

Majesty wants to see you." one of them cleared their voice.

Myeong Jo who heard a voice of a person after so

many weeks almost forgot her own language. Her ears shook a little. But she

wasn't affected at first.

"Y-Your Highness?" another one said.

All the guards and royal household knew that

their Queen was locked in the dungeon by the orders of the King. But no one

knew the reason. They were so curious and surprised by that cruel action of

his. Jimin ordered everyone to look for the Queen (real Myeong Jo/ his real

wife) all around the kingdom without his subject noticing. But there were no

sign of her. The search and rescue team were actually confused as to why

there's a need of searching for the Queen when she is in the palace? Yet they

searched days after days. She wasn't anywhere. Jimin thought if he would look

properly he may find her. But in vain! It felt as if she vanished into thin

air.

Myeong Jo slowly looked at the two guards. She

felt a bit relief that at least two people still consider her a Queen.

"You have to come with us."

It wondered her why after so many days Jimin

would want to see her. As she stepped inside the throne room with her hands

cuffed; the bright light fell on her. She closed her eyes and let out a groan.

Staying under pitch black darkness made her feel like she couldn't bear the

light. She opened her eyes and tried to adjust the brightness around her.

The guards held her arms and made her walk

forward. She tipped almost every time as she forgot how to walk.

On the throne royal chair, Jimin was sitting with a cold straight face.

And beside him, Jungkook was standing with the deepest worried face. Yes, he

and Ji Eun knew this girl was not their real sister-in-law. But Jungkook felt

really bad for her poor condition. He almost wanted to run to her and hold her.

The guards made her stand in front of the King

and left the room with a bow. Myeong Jo still didn't notice them. She was

lowering her head all the time; not caring about where or why she was here.

Jimin saw her. The girl he once loved more than

his life. For whom, his heart would beat crazily. Of who, he always thought and

smiled. Memories began flashing in front of his eyes. Not those with his real

wife. But with her. With Myeong Jo. The day she woke up to the days she was

locked up. Every beautiful memory with her began flashing in his eyes.

"So

I'm cute and sexy?

"You're cutie, sexy and lovely."

"Are you crazy? You want to kill a man who

saw us having romance?

Of course. Only you and me should exist when we

are having our own time."

"Sleep with me please."

"Jimin, I Love You."

He recalled every memory with hers. Then again a

bad cloud made everything go away. He recalled the night she told him the

truth. The night he realized his wife was still lost. The cruel second he

realized he was betrayed all these months.

He tightened his fist and anger, hate took over

his heart. Poor Myeong Jo was unable to stand properly due to her weak body and

depressed mind. Jimin stood up and began walking down the stairs.

The stairs made his footsteps clear and she

heard them. She raised her head.

The face she longed for was finally here. His

face was the only thing she missed. He was walking down; lights welcoming him

as he looked more handsome. The royalness in him still was there.

Myeong Jo's heart beat faster like it used to

whenever she felt butterflies in her stomach. Her dry lips which always formed

a straight face; were slowly turning into a smile. A beautiful painfully smile.

Jimin stood in front of her; now both of them

looking at each other. She felt so happy to see him again that she wanted to

hug him right now. While Jimin felt too hate for her as he recalled her

betrayal.

Both of them were staring into each other's

eyes. No one had the courage to speak. Hearts wanted to burst. Their eyes were

the only things that mattered.

"Where is she?"

After a long time, she again heard his voice. But it changed. It wasn't sweet

anymore. It was rather harsh and cold.

She furrowed her eyebrows slightly by his first

question. She thought he would ask her about her health or maybe about her

plans. Yet he still asked about the only person he actually cared more than

anything. His Real Wife.

"I asked where my wife is."

She stared at him and wondered. Didn't he have

the slightest curiosity to know how she was doing? Did it not affect him after

seeing how his decision to lock her up made her so miserable? How her face and

her body shrieked and she looked like a half dead girl? Can't he even notice

her eyes wanting him to hug her?

"Give her some time, Hyung. She just got

out." Jungkook from behind said.

Jimin didn't listen. "Where is she?"

Myeong Jo's eyes showed those tears again. Tears

of false hope and love. She actually thought Jimin forgave her and wanted to

love her. When he is only concerned about the real wife.

"I-I.........don't...know..." she

sounded like a first grader who was asked her name. She spoke after so many

days so she even forgot the sound of her own voice and stuttered.

Jimin sighed deeply. It was Obvious that he was

being really calm but also angry like the fire.

"You must know. I looked everywhere the

whole Kingdom. She isn't

anywhere. There's gotta be a place where she is." Jimin said

looking at her.

Myeong Jo didn't reply.

"You were the one who told so many things

that night. Parallel universe, another world, comet granting your

wish...........So you should know where she is."

She still didn't reply and looked down. Well she

doesn't know so it's the better thing to do.

"FOR GODDAMMIT! SPEAK MYEONG JO!"

His yelling made her jump in place and his voice

echoed throughout the throne room.

"Hyung!" Jungkook shouted.

Myeong Jo's lips trembled. When did he become so

scary? So heartless? Her eyes began forming with tears but she didn't let them

fall. She looked at him with much surprise. She wanted to tell him How Did You

Change So Much?

"I-I don't know...."

"GODDAMN! YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO WOULD KNOW!"

Jimin yelled at her as if he was gonna kill her if she can't tell him.

"I Said I Don't Know!" this time her

voice sounded strong.

Jungkook ran down and stood beside Jimin.

"Noona, we've looked everywhere. But we

couldn't find her. The mountains were searched throughly but in vain. There

must be some clue right? Maybe only you know. Maybe you are missing something

which is the biggest clue. We need you to tell us if you are missing some

points." Jungkook explained calmly. He was still her brat but good brat.

Jimin turned his back and ran his fingers through his hair. He didn't

even want to face her.

Though she was sad and upset by his behaviour,

she still thought. All these months, she thought many times for the real wife's

whereabouts. But nothing fit correctly. Maybe Jungkook was right. She was

missing some point.

"Noona, think hard, okay? I don't want to

pressure you but you have to do this." he made sure she doesn't feel

pressured.

Myeong Jo thought and thought. Her hands began

shaking though they were cuffed out ouf nervousness. She gritted her teeth and

tried so hard to think of something.

Suddenly a thought crossed her head.

She looked at Jungkook with wide eyes.

"T-there's a possibility that

she's.........."

Jungkook widened his eyes as he leaned closer to

hear.

Myeong Jo continued, "T-there's a

possibility that she's where I was."

Jimin looked at her again.

"What do you mean?" Jungkook asked.

She looked at him, "The universe I live in.

Maybe she got transported there while I got transported here."

The room fell into a big silence. Her theory

seemed right. There couldn't be any other possibilities.

"Yes. Yes that sounds good! Hyung! She's right. Maybe she is in

that world. Safe and sound." Jungkook excitedly said.

Jimin remained silent for some time and then

looked at Jungkook, "And what if she's dead?"

Both of them were surprised by his question.

Especially Myeong Jo.

"What if she actually died? The moment she

fell down from the cliff...... If she was still alive.....then their bodies

wouldn't had changed."

"If both of them at the same time got

transported into two different universes then only their souls would transport;

not the body." Jimin explained.

Jungkook asked as he was too curious, "What

makes you say that?"

Jimin looked at Myeong Jo for some seconds,

"She has no scar on her back. Which means she herself with her body,

memory and soul travelled here."

Jungkook looked at her then back to Jimin,

"So? Maybe your real wife did the same too. She with her body, memory and

soul went to her world. Right?"

Jimin shook his head, "It isn't

possible."

"Why not?" he asked.

Myeong Jo was just hearing both of them and

trying to figure everything out.

"I read some books about parallel

universes. I also looked up on Google. Then I asked some astronomers. They all

said two people cannot change their places. Only one can." Jimin sighed.

"One person cannot be in the two universes.

There can't be both of them in two universes." he looked at Jungkook.

Jungkook widened his eyes and surprisedly said,

"So you mean if she's here, that means there is no one like her in any

other universes. That means............."

Both of them looked at Myeong Jo.

She was so shocked. She unknowingly finished

their sentence,

"She

died and I took her place."
