Things forgotten

I was so shocked to know that my best friend who was as precious as my own family to me, got kidnapped because of my mistake. I only knew that I had to go find her. Little did I know that I was forgetting the most important thing. When I regained my reasoning I remembered that I didn't inform anyone of the situation.

I couldn't have been any more stupid than this that I had forgotten to inform the police. I knew it was too late as I had already reached the warehouse, but I still had to do it anyway. My feet stopped and I said.

"Livy... Please call the police and report the kidnapping."

" Meow?... Okay... So we are going to wait until they arrive, right"

I thought about waiting for the police to arrive, but I couldn't because I didn't know what might happen if I was just a bit late. My thoughts were all messed up.

'Should I wait? What if something happens to Leona?! Should I go? But what if I can't help her?'

I couldn't wait any longer and decided to face the consequences of my mistake. Even after knowing that I was just gambling on the possibility to be of any help, I couldn't stop my heart that was telling me to go.

" Let's go, Livy "

" Shouldn't we wait for the police? "

" I know... But I can't wait anymore. You know how important Leona is to me. Wait here and lead the police to the warehouse when they arrive. I have to go. "

I hastily moved toward the place where Leona was kept. I saw a man standing in front of me. Although I didn't know him, but I had a feeling that he was the one who was speaking in the video. I couldn't help but shout at him.

" You!! Who the hell are you? Where is Leona? Why did you kidnap her?"

Looking at me desperate to help Leona, he said in a mocking manner.

" My... what a strong friendship! If had known that I could make you so helpless like this, I would have kidnapped her sooner. "

" You bastard!!! Just what in the world do you want?!"

"That's pretty simple. Take this gun and shoot yourself. If you can then I'll let your dear friend go. How about it?"

I was shocked at his demand. Feeling so helpless for the first time in my life, it was not a pleasant experience.

' So in the end all he wanted was my life. I'm so sorry Leona. I didn't mean to drag you into this'

He threw a gun at me and then ordered his men.

"Get that girl here...

Oh, and you… Don't think even think of doing anything funny if you want to see your friend alive."

Then his men brought Leona and pointed a gun at her. Know that I had no way out this time, I picked up the gun with my trembling hands and looked at Leona.

" I'm so sorry, Leona. Please forgive me. "

Seeing me pointing the gun at myself, Leona struggled to break free and shouted.

Just when I was about to shoot myself I heard the police cars stopping at the gate. The kidnappers were in a fix and started to run toward the exit.

"Who the hell informed the police?!"

I took the chance and freed Leona. I held her hand and ran to the gate where the police was but then I felt that someone was pulling me back to stop me.

I looked back and said.

"Leona?!... What are you doing? Let's get out of here quickly. "

" Weren't you supposed to die for me as you said before?"

" Huh?! "

I couldn't understand for a moment.

What did she say right now? Is it really what Leona would say?

" What are--"

Shocked at the cold sentence said by Leona. I was about to ask her what she meant by that, but then she broke in and shouted.

" Why can't you just die?! Is it that difficult?!"

I never thought that I would hear it from her. My lips moved on their own.

"Why?... "

"Why?! Because I hate you. I hate you so much that I wish you were dead. Do you want to know why?"
