Whispers of the Enchanted Grove

"Mmmn, ah.... Where am I?"

I opened my eyes despite my head's every effort to keep them shut. I twitched and shuffled a little to find myself being cradled by rocks.

"Huh, are these...."

My head was ringing as I tried to steady my breath, just when I managed to grasp the reality a little everything that happened flashed before my eyes.

"Ahh, I am dead aren't I, tilp(shit) I told myself that I couldn't die" I panicked.

No way no way no way I can't die I really can't be dead. Pearl is going to resurrect me just to kill me all over again.

While fussing around one of the rocks fell on my head.

"Ouch, what the ....... wait 'ouch' then that means"

I touched where the rock had just hit me and it stung.

"I'm not dead!. I am not dead!"

I raised my fist to the air happily and sang.

"I am not dead, I am not dead"

 But wait, I'm alive but where am I?

I looked around but the only thing I could see were just rocks. Wait rocks?

It took a while to realize but the rocks I was sitting on didn't feel uncomfortable at all.

"They're soft?"

I pressed the rock and it was fluffy.

"There is no way right?"

I could not believe that the rock I was on top of actually felt like a pillow made of feathers.

"hahaha... ha.. ha"

I laughed as it felt like I was losing my sanity.

"There is no way, right? I am alive.. aren't I?"

I looked around and there was some lighting coming from the hole on top.

"Did I fall through that?"

It would have been a deep and painful fall.

But I had no scratches or wounds whatsoever, I checked my condition and I was completely fine.

Maybe I'm more sturdy than I imagined. I felt oddly proud of myself for being able to handle that.... Whatever that was.

I got off from the rocks and the moment my feet touched the ground. Green grass grew from underneath me and a few flowers popped up a little later up.

I stumbled back from surprise and landed back on the rocks and was met with a comfy feeling like before.

"Ahahaha... Soft rocks and grass that appears suddenly."

This time my laugh was genuine.

"Wow this forest just keeps getting weirder and weirder"

I got back up to test this weird coincidence and without missing a beat the patch of rough land that had no traces of life as if a war left it that way now bloomed with my steps.

It felt like it was responding to me.

They were following my footsteps, seeing this I jumped and hopped from one place to the other and still got the same result.

"Hehehe, what you like me?"

I asked in a sarcastic tone not knowing that the flowers would actually respond by growing a little further from where I was standing.

"Ah... So you do huh!"

And the same thing again.

I was getting used to it now and seemed to have figured out the pattern.

"Well if that's the case do you happen to know where we are"

This time there was no response. Granted that it was a hard question but if it's capable of this much there is no reason not to test the limit.

"Can't say?"

The flowers and the grass once again colored the land with life.

"Ok then if that's the case do you happen to know the way out of here? Oh, don't take it to heart. The rocks are comfy and all but it's a little too dark for my liking"

It was a long request, chances were that there would be no answer like before but I don't see a path before me unless I make one myself I won't be getting out of here anytime soon.

But luckily enough there was an answer the flowers bloomed and kept blooming making what seemed to be a path.

"Why thankyou aren't you a gentle flower... um, no that's not right flowers? ah…. piece of beautiful land? umm greenery, You know what let's just go with flowers. Yeah flowers, lead the way please"

The flowers seemed to have heard my cause as they started blooming even more rapidly.

I followed the flowers through long winding paths and narrow holes leading to my escape.

As a ray of sunlight hit my eyes causing me to flinch, I realized.

"I'm free!"

I could feel the soft blows of wind hit my skin ever so lightly as I took a deep breath to take all the fresh air in. I looked back and saw a collapsed building of some sort covered in moss, with many leaves and vines growing in and out of it. There were different types of symbols on the support beams but they were hardly readable cause it was moments away from caving in.

Despite that, It looked to be a completely normal building made out of normal materials but now the creatures had made it into their homes.

"Huh did someone live here?"

I thought to myself. There is no way, right? cause Pearl told me that the elder tree didn't allow anyone to stay long enough for someone to be able to build something. Guess I'll just ask her when I see her.

"Wait, ask her when I see her? Pearl!!"

I couldn't help but yell when I realized that Pearl wasn't with me, she was supposed to be checking if the wall ended or not. I was panicking but when my gaze shifted to the flowers which had stopped blooming ever since I got out.

"Huh, your blooming again?"

The flowers were responding to me again but at what? I didn't ask anything. After a while of hard thinking it hit.

"Wait, Pearl! Do you know where Pearl is?"

And just like that the flowers bloomed again leaving me a trail to follow, without any hesitation I started running as fast as I could.

As I rushed and chased the trail a question clouded my head.

"Could it be that she fell here with me? But where is here"

I shook my head "I'll know when I find her"  And kept running to where I was being guided.
