S1 Chapt 2 - A New Friend

[Tyler-Rays pov]

[Additional languages: Spanish,Turkish and Romanian.]

"No choice!?..."

"If you think that we are going to let a damn infected girl in our facilities alone and for free you must be living in your dream land kid." Said Coco softly bouncing naru in her arms.

"But- you said I was immune!?" I said gently touching my head to find the gunshot wound.

"Not exactly, you still are a haunter but you aren't one at the same time. Then again we don't know so we will be putting our eye on you for the time being." Said Bristol checking me to see if I was okay.

Jeremy turned to Virl.

"The hell is wrong with you!?" Said Jeremy to Virl. "Shooting a damn child!? Now that's low even for you."

"Now hold on a minute!, I didn't do anything wrong, we've done this many times with others and it hasn't made any difference, so what's so special about this girl?" Virl asked. "No matter how different they are. If your bitten,you turn and if you turn, you get put down. No excuses Jeremy."

She was right,just because there is a minor distinction from me and the other haunters it does not change the fact that I am one.

Me and Raymond remained silent, I couldn't say anything, I mean what can I say? I literally got shot and found out I am some...monster in the span of 3 hours.

Raymond stood up and lent his hand out towards me, "Sister,come on get up." I reach for his hand as he pulls me up towards him. "There,now your okay.." He was shaking. From fear of the situation or maybe of me as he was comforting not only me but himself.

Jeremy looked at us and shook his head, "how about you too go on and play with the other little ones hmm?, The grown ups will talk here."

"The **** you mean!? 'Play with the others' she's infected!" Virl protested as her light blue veins began to show under her angry gaze.

"Virl, get your ginger,stuck up head out of your asshole and think for a minute. We just astablushed that she is not like the haunters. She's....Tamed."

"Tamed...Tamed!? She's a ticking bomb waiting to explode. We can't risk our whole family just because you made a friend!" She shouted as her anger was flooding the room like lava. Coco slowly walked beside Virl,carefully placing her fragile hand onto her shoulder waiting for a calm reaction.

They all began to argue, it was annoying, a bunch of adults acting like bickering children..I wanted to leave the suffocating atmosphere that was created.

I trapped Raymond's hand in my own,slowly squeezing it to the point he started to wince in pain,but I couldn't help it, it was so...Damn...LOUD.

I wanted it to stop,I beg for it to stop as I hide in Raymond's chest seeking shelter. "I can't breathe..." I mumbled, quivering all over. Raymond gently placed his hand on my back,slowly patting in a soft pattern. "Bristol.." Raymond looked at him with a concerned expression on his face.

Bristol walked towards us both and tapped my shoulder and kneeled down to our level.

"Come on, let's go to the playground and meet the other kids okay..? I'll introduce you all and then we can stay there until these three to calm down" I quickly turn towards him and give him a nod.

As long I can leave here.

From this nightmare.

I'll do anything you want.

He leads us out the room of those teenagers and into a backyard with a modest playground.

The crisp sound of leaves were heard, as if ice was splitting and hissing. Squirrels are seen trying to find a point of safety, scurrying about the bare trees that lie around the playground. Mystery and enigma clouds the playing field, providing a sense of anticipation about the place.

There I discover 4 unfamiliar children near mine and Raymond's age and Timothy running laughing together.

"DAD!" Screamed a little girl,with dark brown hair in a ponytail,with brown eyes that were Chocolate. She ran towards Bristol and gave him a warm embrace.

"Hey Honey!, I have someone I want you to meet." He turned towards me and Raymond giving us a warm inviting smile, I loosen up a little and let go of Raymond's hand, though I regret doing so, "This is Raymond uhmm...what's your last name kid?" Ah...finally a question I can answer.

"It's Turner" I said proudly crossing my arms, "Ah I see, Honey meet Raymond Turner and Tyler-Ray Turner. They were taken in by Jeremy so be nice to them okay?" She gave a nod and hugged Bristol before he began to walk away.

"So Tyler-Ray and Raymond huh? My names Honey! Honey Toor! And these are my friends." She pointed at a the other 4 including Timothy, "the tall one with the really thick braids like yours is Jaxon."

A tall,young,fairly dark boy with box braids and beautiful grey eyes gave a small chuckle before waving,"they are Box braids, Honey not any normal braids, I told this to you already! And my hair is different from their's,they have dreadlocks!"

He said trying to show the difference between them in the air.

"Yea, what ever Aptal!" (Turkish. Aptal: idiot in English)

She pulled Raymond and my hand towards her but I pulled my hand way,hiding them in my pockets, "Oh uhm my sister doesn't like physical touch with alot of people so don't take it the wrong way" Raymond looked at me and lent his hand out,

"Come on, No nos hará daño,Tyler"

("Come one, she won't hurt us Tyler")

I look at him unconvinced but I take his hand regardless.

"Anyway, the Boy next to Jaxon is Timothy but you've already met, then next to Timothy is River!" A adverage sized boy,with golden curls and bright blue eyes holding a toy guitar, raised his hand. "That's me! My names River Yern, nice to meet you." His strong British accent was surprising at first but I shook it off.

"Then finally Cora!" A small adorable brown haired girl with pearl white, colourless eyes and with...horns...sharp ears? "What is she?" I ask pointing at her "is she one of those monsters?"

Raymond slapped me across the head, I then realised Cora had her head down in shame.

"She's not a monster!" Shouted Honey, "She's a wood elf!, Raymond why is your sister so mean!?" Jaxon grabbed Honey by the shoulder.

"She wasn't trying to be mean so chill out! Nu are rost să strigăm" (Romanian Translation: shouting won't solve anything)

Honey nodded and looked at me glaring, "Let's go play!" Said Timothy smiling, everyone else agreed meanwhile I went to sit down in the shade of a trees shadow.

"No quería herir sus sentimientos. Por qué la gente es tan sensible?"

(I didn't mean to hurt her feelings, why are people so sensitive)

My mind started to wander as I lift my head up and started to relax, no shouting. No people,just me and myself.

"You look lonely." I heard a shot voice infront of me lifting my head up to identify the person. "Ah. Your Cora arnt you?" She nodded sitting next to me, "And your Tyler-Ray." It got quite awkward between us as silence set in.

"Why are you not playing with the others? Do you not like tag?" I shook my head, "I don't like people. What about you? Why are you not playing?" I ask turning my whole body towards her, "my eyes" she pointed her towards them, "they are not exactly easy to see through." She said.

"Oh. I'm-... That's unfortunate." She laughed at my failed attempt at saying sorry, "I'm not blind. I just can't see well when there's light in my eyes. But in the dark my visons completely normal!"

"Yea. Completely.." I said sarcastically

the awkward silence sunk in again, although we weren't talking it was fun, having someone my age being near me.

"Where are your parents?" She asked slowly moving herself towards me, "they're Dead." I said bluntly fumbling with my fingers,"what about you?" I ask intrigued,"my dad is gone but my mother is working at the nursery, her name is Coco!" she stopped scooting to me as she was incredibly close, I moved back a little because I felt uncomfortable though her face said everything when I did so.

"Coco? I know her she has my little brother naru." And she wasn't very welcoming but I'll keep that to myself

"Yep that's my Ma, she is known for taking care of the baby's."

Honey looked over to us and ran over, "Hey cora are you okay with her around?" She asked as if I was not infront of her, "Yea!, why wouldn't I be, she's my friend!"

Friend? When did I agree to that.

"Oh alright" she said disappointed, "tell me if you wanna play with us okay?" Nora gave her a nod as Honey turned around to join the others again.

"She doesn't like me" I say holding my hands together, "she doesn't like strangers, she will warm up to you" She said taking my hand into hers.

I hate physical touch from those outside of family, though maybe because I've only had my family. I don't pull back from her instead I hold her hand tightly and give her a small smile. This isn't so bad..

"Friends huh? I don't remember saying we're were that" I say playfully nudging her, "Wait a-a-are we not!? I just thought you needed a friend!"

I start to laugh at her panic and start to lean on her shoulders. "Yea,we're friends,good friends." She smiles and excited fills her eyes, "Best friends!?" She says eagerly.

"Too far." I said,

"Oh" her disappointment was obvious. Though it was funny.

"Maybe in the future?" She said laughing,

"Yea" I said "maybe"

Maybe.
