New Girl (Alice)

The night before school

“But mum, I really don’t want to go to school. How about I just don’t go? I’ll get homeschooled or something.”

My mum looked at me with stern eyes and I can tell that this is pointless. Still, who would want to go to school halfway through the school year. Besides, it’s only two years and a half, I doubt it will really change my life.

“Alice, my decision is final. Now do you want braised pork or chicken salad?”

I went back to my room, this was going to be disastrous. I’ll be branded as the new girl and will never get peace. Besides, I liked my old school, why did we have to change to a new one.

At school

“Welcome to Freymore Academy, here is your timetable and your first class is math. You have Ms Zenith, good luck.”

I walked through the corridor and turned left like the guide instructed and reached the class.

In class

Me Zebith based on her appearance looks strict as she told me to take a spot next to some girls named Bella, Kyre, Gracie, and Mikaela. Then she resumed some problems and the period ended, just like that.

Lunch:

I walked through the corridors but there were some whispers which stopped whenever I’m close. I ignore them, that is, until I reached the cafeteria. I have no friends, which means I have no seat which means I’m doomed.

“Alice, over here!” I turned around to see Maya. I smiled. Maya is the only friend I have that was also at my old school, only she transferred here a month before I did. I walked towards her,

“How’s your first class?”

“It was ok…”

“Since you missed the ceremony, I talk you through, as you can probably already tell, this Academy doesn’t have age groups, everything counts on your ability and your ability alone”

“Sounds stressful”

“Also, so recommend staying well clear of the 4Fs.”

“The four what?-”

The room went quiet all of a sudden and four hot and handsome guys walk in, no not hot, otherworldly might not even compare.

One of them must have caught me staring since he showed a disgusted expression towards me. It’s like the world twisted on its axis, all my previous comments about them disappeared.

However, before I can show a disgusted have in return, another boy caught my attention. He was leading them as I soon realised, he was also familiar.

“Maya, why does that boy on the right look so familiar?”

“Ha, you thought so too, that’s Julian”

My mind ran a million miles a second as soon as she said the name. Julian, that Julian.

He was our neighbour for a few years before he moved. All I knew about him was that we always argue. To the point where if we don’t argue, it would seem strange.

I’m pretty sure he hates me, it all started in PE, when in volleyball, his friend and him started playing and was tying with the other team, and time was running out. So when the ball came to me and I was about to do a set or dig, I froze up. It was a simple act, and now he would give me a disgusted face whenever we meet. It’s been years since then.

Well, whatever, I hate him too. I was so happy when he moved away to the academy. Sadly, that happiness was short lived.

He seems to sense me staring since he turned around. What is it with boys and their disgusted face, instead of being called the 4F, they should be called the 4GP, GP standing for grumpy pants.
