A week passed, and that day there was a meeting at Mirum Group. Peter's secretary followed him to finish organizing everything. Upon arriving at the boardroom, he noticed that the documents were placed in front of each partner with the perfection he liked.
Each of the partners was in the room waiting for Peter to arrive and start the meeting. That day, he felt extremely proud of himself. He had managed to acquire a series of companies that would greatly contribute to the growth of his group, and he would announce it at this meeting.
"Good morning, I have called you here today to let you know that we have acquired..." He couldn't finish speaking because suddenly the door opened.
"I didn't know that meetings in this company started before all the partners were present." He would recognize the voice that said those words anywhere, anytime.
Everyone present turned to see who was at the door and saw a woman elegantly dressed enter. Her attitude was astute, and she walked with great confidence, while also possessing a strong and comfortable aura.
Those present began to wonder who she was and why she was at that meeting. Furthermore, she had just interrupted the CEO of the company, which was almost like an offense to him.
Peter stared at her, not understanding what Marian was doing there, but he wouldn't ask her either. He waited for her to speak first.
"Madam, Mr. Martin is in a meeting at the moment," Peter's assistant said to Marian after approaching her.
"I think you made a big mistake today, Mr. Smith. It seems you let your boss start a meeting without all the shareholders present," she replied with a subtle smile.
"According to my list, everyone is already present," he said respectfully.
Marian took a folder out of her bag and placed it in front of Peter.
"I have 21% of the company's shares in my possession, and from now on, I am the majority shareholder of Mirum Group, which gives me the right to attend every meeting from now on." Peter's face didn't change at all.
Ivan Martin held 51% of the shares, Peter 20%, and 29% belonged to other shareholders. Therefore, if he had given 21% of his shares to Marian, it meant that her decisions carried more weight than his.
"It seems you have met my expectations," was all Peter said with a smile on his lips.
A man accompanying Marian took one of the chairs in the room and placed it next to Peter's to show that the two were on par. Until that moment, no one had noticed his presence.
It was Peter's father's assistant who had accompanied Marian, indicating that she had his full support.
"Now that we are all present, we can begin the meeting, Mr. Martin," Marian spoke, and everyone remained in total silence.
"Get out of here," Peter exploded after the order Marian had given.
Everyone in the room left immediately. Marian looked at Peter with a cold expression. She didn't care about anything that would be said there, she just wanted to annoy her husband, and she knew she had succeeded when he got up to leave.
"Wait a moment," her voice sounded bored.
"What do you want?" he replied without even turning around.
"I just wanted to remind you that I am now the main shareholder and that I need an office. It seems to me that there is a vacant one in front of yours, it is spacious and has an unparalleled view," she approached him and spoke almost in his ear.
"Don't worry, I'll have it arranged for you," Peter's assistant replied, noticing that she was bothering his boss.
Some people had not yet left and had heard what Marian had said to him, so everyone wondered who this mysterious woman was, because who would dare to give orders to the son of the owner.
Suddenly, the boardroom was completely empty, and Marian began to pick up her things to leave. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her waist and didn't know when Peter had placed her with her back to the table, climbing on it.
The eyes of the two were inches apart, and his were colder than usual. Their proximity was such that she could smell his breath.
"What are you playing at, Marian?" his voice sounded deep, rocky, and you could even say a little sexy.
"Me? Nothing. If you think anything that happened today is a game, then you haven't understood anything," she spoke coldly.
"Do you really think I'll let you keep those shares?" he mocked her.
"Let me remind you that I am the owner of the shares, you are nobody to decide about them," she knew that was his weak point.
She could have asked for more shares, but she only asked for one percent over his. All she wanted was to annoy him, and she knew she had succeeded.
"I suggest you don't bother me anymore, otherwise I'll have to ask your father to give me the percentage he has left and I'll kick you out of your beloved company," she pushed him away without any expression.
"I'm curious to know how you'll get me to leave the company," although she expected him to be irate, he spoke to her with the utmost tranquility.
"Do you think I can't? Of course I can, and I will, since as your wife I can take part of the family fortune whenever I want, as your businesses are also my businesses, then I'm going to intervene in them as much as I can," she would do everything she could to force him to sign the divorce.
"I want to see what you'll do," he just smiled.
"Don't think I'm going to sit still like I did a few years ago, I've changed and I'm not the one you met years ago, my love life abroad made me change a lot because it was... how should I put it?... something exciting," she would say everything that came to mind just to provoke him.
Upon hearing her, Peter's expression changed drastically. He could endure anything but that the woman he had chosen as his wife was with another, so without thinking twice he simply kissed her.
