Chapter 4

Russell's POV:

 I got to school a little earlier cause I had the first period and Mr. Anders had put me in charge of setting up for the physical computing demonstration.

I had to wake Winter up instead of her waking me up and she was not happy. She frowned the whole ride to school, she didn't speak to me or answer any of the questions, she was completely ignoring me just because I woke her up an hour earlier.

When we got to school she immediately went to her class and fell asleep.

While I was setting up the demonstration, I couldn't help worrying about Ordelias and thinking of what happened the previous day. I hoped she had gotten home safely, but what if she hadn't? I wondered, I shook my head and focused on my work to get the thought of her out of my mind but it still lingered .

         I didn't even make sense for me to care so much about some I just met, maybe it's because she is an interesting person and I want to know more about her or because she's my sister's friend. 

         In fact, the day before had come to me as quite the pleasant surprise. I had wanted to know her name, but was unable to as Mr. Anders interrupted us . He had called me to explain my duties in the class which were to act as a helper and a student in his presence and as a substitute teacher in his absence. He also explained to me the protocols and rules of his class, some of which I was to ensure the students followed and some I was to follow myself, such us not playing favourites or having any personal relationships with any of the students during my stay. He put emphasis on the last rule and I knew exactly what he meant, no dating any of the students. I had no problem with any of the rules so duly agreed to follow them.

After my little meeting with Mr. Anders, I went outside to the parking lot, where I saw three figures standing beside my car.

One I immediately recognized as my sister, the other two, not so much. It was only when I got closer, that I realized that it was the two girls in my class. I looked to my sister and she eventually told me that they were her friends and they needed a ride home. That was also when I learnt her name, Ordelias, a strange yet beautiful name.

I agreed to give them a ride, but when I asked for her address she was unable to recall, she showed a weirdly cute expression on her face and I couldn't help but smile, strange.

I don't know why but when she asked me to drop them off my the roadside since they did not know their house number, I felt worried, on the drive home I was worried, that night I was worried and I was still worried.

I was lost in my train of thought when the door suddenly opened and someone walked in. Initially, I thought that my worried mind had started hallucinating, I mean who comes to school at this time, but when she smiled at me and said good morning in a cheery voice, I knew she was real and immediately haveed a sigh of relief, she was okay.

" Good morning to you too, I'm glad you got home safe yesterday" ,I said.

"I'm glad I did too", she responded smiling.

"so,what's your house number", I said in a deliberately cheeky tone.

"I don't think I have to tell you that", she said giggling at my tone.

"In that case it's safe to assume you have no idea"

"I do know, now"

"then what is it"

"I'm not telling you"

"okay then , it's your right",I stopped asking "Where's the other one, Kia", I said pointing to her seat

"She's at the library", She said simply, "I'll be joining her as soon as I'm done here", she added whiles arranging both their desks.

"Going to the library, at this time, it's 6 o'clock am", I said looking at my watch

"Well, our Auntie had somewhere to be so she dropped us off early and we decided to use that time catch on some reading"

"You come to school early, and your first thought is to go to the library?", I said shocked, especially since my sister came to school early and her first thought was to go sleep.

"Why do you seem so surprised, we'll probably only be reading some fantasy novels, nothing serious"

"Whether reading a novel or a textbook it's better than sleeping", I said thinking of Winter, "Anyway good luck, see you when class starts, in an hour and a half".

" Okay then, Bye and thanks ", She said, laughed and left the classroom.

       I suddenly felt the urge to go wake Winter up, which I did. And accordingly she didn't speak to me the whole day
