"This city is always dark and cold, and I regret accepting the job offer here. Ugh!" I muttered to myself as I walked towards the food shop after a long day at work. I was craving something to eat.

My big black long wolf coat doesn't seem to keep me warm enough. I still feel the chill seeping through. Just as I was about to enter the shop, a male voice from the sky said, "There will be a deadly virus in a few days' time. Choose your class for simulation."

"What the heck! Is this some kind of prank? These kids around here are always up to mischief. Deadly virus and simulation? What does that even mean?"

I shrugged off the nonsense I had just heard and continued walking into the shop.

Chuckle! Chuckle!

"Excuse me, where are the baskets?" I asked the tall female security lady by the door.

"They're over there," she replied, pointing towards them. She was so tall, maybe that's why they hired her. I'm pretty sure they didn't ask for her CV.

I chuckled at my silly thoughts as I made my way to the basket section. I grabbed a green one and noticed one of the items I needed right in front of me. I reached out and successfully grabbed it.

"Mana fueled, simulation system activated." A luminous blue message suddenly appeared in front of me. "Choose your class to prepare for battle."

"What's going on?" I muttered, feeling a bit perplexed.

Every customer in the shop was frozen, just like me, with the same notification. I started to believe that I was definitely dreaming. To confirm, I gave myself a light slap on the face, leaving a red mark. It was a strange way to wake myself up, but suddenly everyone around me began to wearing virtual eye gaming glasses.

My hand urged to choose the class and finally I did.

“Congrats Jack, for choosing your class, I will list your mana here, scan them carefully.” The very same virtual male voice entered in my ears.

Everything was listed before him. He scanned himself also and saw what he was wearing with green hair, black eyes with slight of red.

My eyes wandered as I walked warily, seeing everyone, whom I did not know who they were, I mean I also looked different in my avatar. I am just a simple high school teacher with slim body and 185cm height with no abs.

“What are we here to fight? And what is the training because they said deadly virus not aliens or giant monsters.” My pace slowed when I saw nothing happening, avatars were walking and some roaming around like they know what they were doing.

“I am lord of water? How? I want to go home, I didn’t sign up for this nonsense.”

I was about to take my off my mask, then suddenly scary things walking in scary motion coming toward me, then I heard one scream behind me, when I looked back, “Zombie? Oh hell no.”

My legs leaped, I didn’t know how I did that and there was another zombie on my left side which was ready to attack me, I threw my hand to cover myself but the heavy curved sword appeared in my hand which slit the zombie into half.

“Wow!” excitement got me walking toward them screeching my sword on the dusty ground.

The environment was very scary, everything looked burnt to ashes, building collapsed and smoke from the fires. They looked real even though we were in the mage.

One of the zombie was about to attack young girl, but I got it first after I jumped on it carrying my sword with both my hands, it was cut into halve.

“Nobody mess with me!” I had my shoulders up high, feeling myself, with fearless poise and thrown my sword on my right shoulder carrying it as I walking, scanning all the zombies.

Well, as a physical science teacher, I used my method to calculate each zombies which were running toward me. With one spin whilst I lowered my body, I slit their feet and instantly they vanished.

“Look out!” one of the female on my right side warned me quickly, and I got it, with one kick, it fell on the ground whilst I came running and cut it, then vanished.

“Thank you,” I said with a smile and she smiled back too.

The girl suddenly got bitten by two of them whilst I was busy fighting four of them and she disappeared too. I cussed under my breath but luckily for her, she will come back.

“What are you trying to do, huh?” sarcastically I asked one zombie which was trying to sneak behind me.

I flipped behind it with fast motion, grabbed its head and slit its throat. Vanished!

Loud chuckle!

“You’re very good.” Male voice beside stated carrying a big riffle. “I am Daniel.” He said as we step back and our backs hit each other staring at the zombies surrounding us.

“I’m Jack, nice to meet you.” I said with my eyes on the zombies.

He fired his riffle first whilst he turns for me to cut off the ones he shot since they were weak from being shot and we spin very fast, until they were all out.

“Congratulations Jack, for going through level two.”

“Congratulations Daniel, for going through level two.”

Entered level two, warm and dark brown mist every where then I felt Daniel’s grasp on my hand then asked, “Are you okay?”

Hard gulp came from my mouth then I said, “Yes.”

We could see anything, all we did was to sense, since it was quiet then in an instant our ears caught thud noise coming our away, we didn’t know if we should run or fight, but fight something we don’t see.

“Let’s lower our bodies, shoot its feet or their feet first.” I said then again we made our backs to get in contact.

Daniel was wearing same attire as mine but different colours. His they were dark brown, like the mist we were in and black hair.

Smack on our heads, then suddenly we felt a grasp on our feet and sliding on the smooth ground, probably a tile or glass since I couldn’t see well. My heart pumped like I was going to die.
