After a few seconds of observing Naina, Nicholas finally resumed his halted steps. It was now 12 noon, so he decided to take a break in his room.
Unaware that she was being watched, Naina quickly made her way to her mother’s room.
Upon arriving, Naina sat down and simply observed her mother's condition, looking on with a heart that felt torn.
"Mom, let's fight once more. Please, wake up," Naina whispered softly, her voice edged with hope that if her mother awakened from the coma, medical procedures could once again be pursued. But if her condition remained critical as it was, her mother could only receive treatment through medication.
For Naina, money was no longer an obstacle, as the owner of the hospital had become her husband.
Now, the only problem was the consciousness of her mother.
Doctor Nicholas had advised that she should frequently talk to her mother, stimulating her nerves with sound and the touch of her hand. And that is precisely what Naina had been doing every day.
Naina's father was still alive, but the man, irresponsible as he was, chose to leave as soon as her mother fell ill. To him, Naina and her mother were burdens. Remembering this always caused Naina great pain.
Truth be told, she might have lost her mind if not for the sight of her mother's face, which had given her strength and resilience thus far.
"Mom, I'll be going out just for a while. I’ll come back later. I've found a new job, an honest job for me," said Naina.
"But this job is secret. I won't even tell you about it," Naina continued, speaking to herself.
She rose from her seat and kissed her mother's forehead.
"I'll be gone for no more than 4 hours, and I'll be back this evening," Naina promised.
She kissed her mother again and then truly left the room. Every so often, a nurse would check on Mrs. Wilda's condition, which allowed Naina the freedom to leave at any time to earn money for her mother’s treatments.
Regarded as one of the less fortunate patients, Mrs. Wilda received special attention from the hospital. Everyone admired Naina's relentless efforts to earn money.
Outside, Naina encountered Doctor Herli, a meeting that certainly took Naina by surprise.
"Doctor," Naina greeted him, then bowed her head as a sign of respect. Having spent quite some time in the hospital, Naina had come to know many of the doctors, she felt like she knew every surgeon there.
"Are you leaving?" asked Doctor Herli. His presence wasn't without reason, but rather due to his curiosity about the previous night. Could it really be that the woman at the Night Club was Naina? Because to the naked eye, the two of them seemed clearly different.
"Yes, Doctor. I'm excusing myself," Naina replied, not thinking that Doctor Herli was there to see her; she assumed the doctor was just passing by or visiting other patients.
Naina bowed again and left, her head still bowed.
Indeed, it seemed utterly improbable that a girl as innocent as her would be found at the Paradise Night Club.
"Naina!" Doctor Herli called out loudly. Hearing her name, Naina immediately stopped and quickly returned to Doctor Herli.
"Yes, Doctor? What is it?" Naina inquired.
"Do you know Paradise Club?"
"What?" Naina replied, her face turning blank.
"Oh God, what should I say."
