The lord has the right to rely on his subjects for financial support, but he also has a duty to defend them from any pernicious people.
Although humans live in the most productive region of this globe, in the middle of the continent, they are also watched closely by the other alien races that live nearby.
As a result, a [Law of Lords] was established at the outset of the Glorious Empire's establishment to specify the rights and obligations of the Lords.
This rule states that titles will be taken away from nobility who lose their lands.
This law harmed Carter Knight.
They lost their family's title because trolls intruded on their land.
Carter thereupon turned into a vagabond knight.
The knight's life was exceedingly difficult without the support of his realm, and he had little money to pay for the upkeep of his armour and weapons.
Thankfully, Baron Angele housed him.
Carter pledged his allegiance to the Angelet family as well.
But it is clear that this loyalty has not been put to the test.
Because Knight Carter just used his own hands to stab Baron Angelet's son in the chest with the dagger.
It was inserted twice.
Carter felt guilty as he gazed at Colin's physique, but he quickly recovered his resolve.
Carter believed that his ambition of reviving his family was within reach as he reflected on the promise made by that man to him.
However, when Carter discreetly got out of bed and started to walk away, his feet abruptly came to an abrupt halt.
Carter abruptly turned around and only noticed a chilly glow approaching him!
"Chi!"
Carter screamed in a hushed tone after feeling a sudden, severe ache in his chest.
However, no amount of physical suffering could dim the psychological anxiety caused by Colin's unexpected resuscitation from the grave.
Is he a devil?
Carter unconsciously grabbed the dagger in his hand and ****** it forward out of rage and terror.
"ah!"
Colin laughed through clenched teeth as he heard a muffled groan from the opposite side. You fool, you just gave me two stabs! Oh no, it happened three times.
"You...you..." Carter experienced a sudden loss of all physical might, and his awareness started to become hazy.
"Say! What sent you?
Carter's body began to get limp as Colin was about to ask a question, and blood began to pour out of his lips violently.
When Colin drew nearer, all he could hear was the other person's dying voice saying, "Weird...monster."
Is that dead?
It's too sloppy!
Colin now felt remorseful since he should have avoided Carter's crucial remarks, who had entirely lost his voice.
The single hint is now once more broken.
Colin took a few breaths while he studied the bloodied corpse in front of him, but he did not become very alarmed.
First of all, he wasn't under any psychological strain because it was merely self-defense.
And secondly, this is not the first murder he has committed.
Naturally, the "him" in this sentence alludes to Colin's prior owner of the body.
Colin was a law-abiding citizen in a prior life. He hardly ever engaged in conflict, much less killed someone. The owner of this body had, however, experienced numerous violent, horrifying scenes that were a hundred times more horrific than anything he had seen before. He had been on the battlefield.
Because of this, what is happening in front of Colin can only be viewed as a short scene when the memories are fused.
Poof, the desk candle caught fire.
Colin spread the sheet once more and wrote:
Attacks on the heart and throat no longer result in death.
He continued: "I thought vampires seemed to be..."
[Only common, silver weaponry will be put to the test...]
Colin experienced some worry as he was writing this. How could he test this?
You can't use a silver sword to stab yourself, right?
What if he was actually killed by a knife?
Who in their right mind would utilise a metal like silver to build weapons, Colin soon realised.
Therefore, unless he reveals his frailty on purpose, no one will create silver weapons specifically for him.
He consequently gave up worrying about it.
Colin returned back to the body of Knight Carter after setting down his quill and picking up the wine glass from the table.
"puff!"
Blood spurted out when the dagger on the corpse's chest was pulled out.
Colin put the wine glass under the wound while maintaining his composure.
The air was thick with the stench of blood, and the flickering lighting mirrored Colin's pallid face, making it appear particularly weird and horrifying in the pitch-black night.
"Golu, Golu,"
Take a small taste.
Sweetly said.
Feeling a touch incomplete, Colin smacked his lips together.
He then attentively felt the changes in his body when he closed his eyes; they appeared to be similar to the effects of drinking deer blood.
In addition to the body's sporadic feverish symptoms.
Colin didn't pay much attention to it because he assumed it was the result of the recent violent altercation.
Let's start drinking blood now.
Drinking human blood still presents some psychological challenges for Colin. There are no further advantages, thus there is no need for him to inconvenience himself.
Colin put down the wine glass covered in blood and worriedly turned to face the dead in front of him.
Although he has identified the assassin who attempted to kill him, Colin also knows that Knight Carter is alive and there must be another somebody out there who truly wants to end his life.
The explanation is straightforward: if Carter murders him, he will receive nothing other than the Angelet family's ferocious hunt.
Furthermore, he and Carter don't have a personal grudge towards one another.
As a result, someone must have spent a lot of money to bribe Carter to kill him.
So who might this somebody be?
Colin looked through his memory but couldn't find any untrustworthy people.
No way; there are not enough hints.
Colin feels particularly uneasy about this sense that the adversary is in the dark while we are in the light.
Additionally, if this individual can bribe Carter, it's possible that he can corrupt others as well.
What role does Eamonn the Steward play in this?
Who else, then?
Colin thought about this and felt all of a sudden that Grey Castle was quite hazardous right now.
Particularly if Baron Angele is gone at war.
He didn't want to handle the murders one after the other. He couldn't be certain if he was actually unavailable.
Even while his current body doesn't appear to have any fatal wounds, he's not sure if he'll be able to grow a new head if someone takes off his head.
Furthermore, even if he is truly eternal, his status will presumably be quite uncomfortable if this is revealed.
So Colin eventually decided after taking a look at the row of flickering candles on the desk.
——————————
People sleep most soundly in the two to three hours before morning.
Even the on-duty guards started nodding asleep uncontrollably.
However, a shout of "Fire! Fire!" abruptly roused them.
Despite the darkness, Gray castle quickly came to life. Staff members and security personnel hurried to Colin's bedroom with buckets of water in an effort to put out the blazing fire.
In the meantime, Colin silently leaped from the window on the opposite side, rolled to the ground, and fled under cover of darkness.
Colin abruptly came to a stop, his right hand resting on the sword's hilt at his waist.
A kitten came out of the bushes in front of Colin amid a rustling sound.
"Meow——" The kitten suddenly turned haughty as it appeared to recognise the foolish human it had just thrashed earlier in the day.
Colin exhaled a sigh of relief, grabbed the kitten by the back of its neck, lifted it in front of him, and grinned, saying, "Ha, since you have discovered it, then you can follow me."
"Meow--"
You can be employed as a moving blood bag, then, exactly right."
"Meow?"
