A single tear rolled down Taehyung's cheek as he registered his words. Worse? What could be worse than death? He's not sure he wanted to know but he knew he had to.
"What are you going to do?" Taehyung asked quietly, listening to the pitter-patter of the rain speed up.
The man threw his cigarette to the ground and leaned his lips down to the boy's ear. “I'm going to make you fall in love with me.”
Taehyung woke up every night from the same nightmare. The same scene rolled around in his head over and over again. The murder, the murder he had witnessed and done nothing about. They found his body, Taehyung saw it on the news. The thought of his blood creeping through the grout on the sidewalk unnerved him. They said they didn't know who attacked him but by the way the reporters handled it, Taehyung knew they did. They just didn't want to end up like Kellin.
Taehyung didn't want to end up like Kellin either. That was why he so selfishly fled the scene and didn't go to the police, or at least inform his dad about it. He knew he needed to. He couldn't sleep. His body nor his brain was at ease.
Taehyung was so fixated on this happening, he was barely able to function. He was lost in his own dark gray clouds of thoughts.
Dn't you understand? Someone died in front of him! Do you understand that Kellin's death was Taehyung's doing? It's not just something you let go of and forget. He will be dragging that with him for the rest of his life.
School had started but Taehyung was too fixated on the internal battle he was fighting over right and wrong. His mother was on him about grades and values and future plans. But for once in his life he was not thinking about the future. In fact, he dreaded it because with every second, with every step forward he took, he would hold ten times the guilt he did moments before. It was fall now and the weather was beginning to get nippy.
Taehyung would only have a few more days to sit outside on his balcony. It was one of the few things he actually liked about his room. The ledge was large enough for him to lean on comfortably and stretch his legs.
The blonde could look out on the industrial neighborhood his parents insisted upon living in. At least he could see the real world because his parents most definitely wouldn't let him be a part of it. He barely left the house it's not like he had the option to be social.
Taehyung grabbed his guitar and sat on the ledge with the windows open. His feet were covered by his baby pink polka-dotted socks. He lazily let them hang over the side. The blondie began strumming aimlessly as he stared at the sunset. The days were progressively getting shorter and shorter and he found it sad.
