The promise of two childhood friends

\~a while later\~

"Finally home...Dad,Mom I'm ba.... what the! Why is this gorilla here!" Xini said to her mom and Dad while looking so shocked to see Zhen in their house.

"Xini! Have some manners," Xini's dad said to Xini.

"It's ok mr. Su. She is still a little girl anyway." Zhen said to Xini's Dad.

"I am not!" Xini said to Zhen angrily.

"Xini! this is the last time I tell you..Have manners." Xini's dad said to Xini.

"Hmph! such an annoying gorilla," Xini said softly and quietly to herself.

"What? What did you say?" Her dad asked her.

"Nothing. Just continue. I'm going to my room,"

Xini said to her dad.

"Come out when your done changing clothes. We are going to eat dinner with Zhen," Her mom said to her.

"Okay." Xini said to her mom.

\~In her room\~

She closed the door and lay down on her bed with arms and feet wide open.

"Why is that gorilla here. Is he someone my dad knows?" Xini thought to herself.

Then she stood up went to her drawer and got something from inside of her drawer. It was a picture of Xini and her childhood friend f12 years ago. The picture had Xini holding daisies while the boy carried her at the back and the two of them were laughing happily on a green hill and beside was a sandy beach. They were having a picnic with Xixi's family of three (her dad, mom and her) and her childhood friend's family (his dad,mom and him). The boy had blackish shiny hair and he was cute,handsome and tall. Xini called her best friend Zizi. Xini was staring at the picture and was crying a little bit. Her memories about him suddenly struck in her mind but it was not happy at all. It was a sad,hurtful memory.

-In her memory-

"Come on Xixi! Catch me," young Zizi said to Young Xini.

" Okay Zizi! Here I come!!!" Young Xini said to Zizi.

Then the two of them ran around the green hill and they also picked daisies. Then Xini jumped on Zizi's back while carrying the daisies then they laughed and laughed happily.

"Xini! Zizi! Look at the camera!" Xini's mom said to them and then she took a picture of them that is now the picture of what Xini's been holding in her hand. After all that fun the two families of three packed there things and then Zizi said to Xini, " Xini, actually we are going somewhere far and if I can't come back for a very long time. Remember me and wait for me. Okay?" Xini really didn't understand but she just agreed and said,"okay!" Then Xini smiled at Zizi but Zizi was looking at Xini and tears ran down his face but he was still smiling at Xixi (a sad smile)

"Zizi! Come on let's go now." Zizi's mom called him.

" Coming mom! " Zizi answered his mom.

Then Zizi wiped away his tears and said to Xini while running towards the car and waving, " bye!!!Promise me that you would wait for me."

"Okay!!!! I promise. Byeee!!!" Xini shouted to Zizi from afar and waved back at him and smiled.

Then Zizi went to the car and they drove away.

The last thing Xini saw was Zizi's back. Then Xini's family drove back to their house too.

In the morning after that fun day yesterday. She went to Zizi's house and shouted at their door,

" hello??!! Anybody home? Zizi, come out. Let's play." But nobody opened the door and again she said," Zizi wake up!!! Let's play!!"

And then a person passing by was annoyed by the screaming of the girl and the stranger said,

" Little girl, No one is inside that house. The family that stayed there already left....like a while ago." Suddenly Xini's heart broke into pieces and she said," what!? What do you mean? Did he leave me?...... Zizi! How dare you leave me!" She suddenly cried out so loud and kept sobbing, " wahhhh.... why? Why? Why?....wahhh," Xini asked while sobbing so loud. "Why did you leave m...." (boom!) She suddenly passed out because of so much sadness in her heart and then she woke up in her bed with her mom and dad at her side then she asked her parents," Dad,mom where is Zizi?"

Then her mom replied," I'm sorry honey. I forgot to tell you that we were having a picnic together yesterday because they were leaving the next day." Then Xini remembered what Zizi said and it struck her mind,""we are going somewhere far and if I can't come back for a very long time. Remember me and wait for me."" That were the words she remembered then she realized what it meant and then she cried and cried and said," I promised you (Zizi). So I will keep our promise. I will wait for you Zizi." Then she continued crying.

\~She got back to her mindset\~

She shook her head and got back to her senses then she stared and stared at the picture and cried a little and said," Zizi, where are you now? It's been five years already," Then she heard a knock on the door. " Xini, come on let's eat."

Her mom said to Xini then she replied," okay mom. I'm coming." She wiped her tears and changed her clothes then went to the dining table and sat down beside her mom while Zhen was in front of her and Xini's dad beside Zhen.

"Let's eat!" Xini's mom said. Then Xini's mom reached out some meat and put it in Zhen's plate and Xini's mom said to Zhen," here you go. Eat some of this." Then Zhen replied," thanks mrs. Su."

"Call me aunty," Xini's mom said to Zhen.

While Xini on the other hand.

"Why is mom treating that gorilla like her son while I'm here. Her biological daughter..hmph!"

Xini said in her mind while her heart was jealous of Zhen.

\~after dinner\~

After dinner they washed the dishes and escorted Zhen outside the house.

" ah......(sighed)...aunty the food was really delicious!!" Zhen commented on aunty Su's cooking.

"Thank you sweetie." Xini's mom said to Zhen.

"Bye. Thank you for the food Aunty Su and Uncle Su," Zhen said goodbye to Xini's parents.

" bye Xini. See you tomorrow," Zhen also said goodbye to Xini. Upon hearing the goodbye of Zhen, Xini suddenly blushed and said, "b..b..bye......Zhen." Then Zhen left humming happily away.

"By the way Xini, Zhen will be our new neighbor," Xini's dad said to Xini.

"And you two will go to school and go back home together! Hehe....." Xini's mom teased Xini with weird and romantic thoughts of what will happen to the two.

"Stop thinking about weird thoughts mom!" Xini said angrily at her mom but Xini was blushing.

"Me? And Him? A gorilla! Hahahaha One million times a NO for me..Hmph!" Xini said in her mind.

"And why do we have to come home together?

I can just go home by myself." Xini said to her mom and dad proudly.

"Oh... but did you know that girls tend to get raped just in the streets because they are alone." Xini's dad said to Xini to scare her.

Then Xini shivered and said," stop it dad. I'm not afraid!" Xini said while shivering.
