I believe Egypt mythology is in place now as it could also be found in the Roman Empire

They also don't have the classic end of the world story

They just say that the world would end if something

Well the story goes like this:

The god of sun - Ra travels on two boats

Zera

The Solar Boats

Zera

One was a sun-boat or morning-boat used during the day when he was the SUN and lightened up the world

Zera

For 12 hours

Zera

The other was the evening-boat or the night-boat

Zera

He descended to Nile and to the underworld (Duat)

Zera

He went through one gate each hour

Zera

And accompanied by other gods, he fought the god of chaos - Apophis or Apep in the form of a giant serpent

After defeating him, he would return back, emerging as a sun once again

Zera

It was believed that if Ra lost, he would be eaten by Apophis and the world would end

Zera

It's like the world end can come anytime

Zera

And it just had to be now

Zera

At this point in time there's a giant serpent surrounding the eclipse and biting the Sun

Zera

We probably cannot do anything except believing in Ra and his companions Bast, Set and many others




