19. Clue

Mia stood up from her place and took her bag. She looked at Steven and said, "Sorry Mr Hans but I don't have enough time to waste on useless things. It's already getting late. If you don't mind then we better start the investigation. "

Steven thought, 'Hmm she's straightforward. I like it.' He smirked at his thought. He was kinda interested in Mia because of her mysterious behaviour.

'This girl is not as innocent as she looks. But I will soon find what secret you are hiding Miss Smith. '

He also got up and said, "Then let's go and start our investigation. " They all then went inside the college and started to search for some information.

They searched every single information related to Charles. They investigated every person related to him. They worked till it was midnight. Finally they agreed to continue their investigation tomorrow.

Next Day...

It was the weekend so the college was closed. After they finished their investigation all of them went to Steven's office which was located near an empty roadside street.

He was a down to earth person who always treated the world the same. In his eyes, no one was innocent. Even though he was cold, arrogant and bossy, he had a caring side which no one knew. But he never blamed the world for his losses.

After everyone arrived at the office they started their discussion.

"So here are the clues that are important in the investigation. They are the most important things related to our case." Steven said, pointing at the whiteboard.

They discussed the topics and tried to find out the relation between the criminal and Charles.

Everyone was still puzzled after the investigation. They tried their best to find any evidence which could help them find anything about the culprit but they didn't get anything useful.

"Ryan, didn't you say that you had a meeting with a paparazzi who saw Charles meeting someone before his death? " Steven questioned Ryan. Ryan nodded at him and told him everything about the meeting.

Steven then lost in his deep thought that he didn't realize that he missed a very important clue! He suddenly stamped on the table and his face glowed with happiness.

"Yes! I found it! " He shouted with happiness. "What? What did you find? " Mia asked him.He went towards the window and looked at the sunset.

"Wow, it's so beautiful right? Do you know after the sun sets comes the darkest night. But after it, comes the brightest day ever." Everyone was confused by Steven's words.

"3 people. One of these people is Charles's killer." Steven said with a serious tone. "Which 3 people? " Both of them asked at the same time.

Steven replied, "The first person is George Reed. The father of Charles. He is the first suspect because after Charles took the underworld, his father was looked down upon.

He wanted to control him for himself but Charles didn't listen to him and did his will. His father became furious and cut all ties with him. Since he lost everything he wanted to get his power back.

So our first suspect is George Reed. "

Everyone thought about it and agreed with him. He then continued...

"Our second suspect is Simon Walton. He is the biggest enemy of Charles and tried to kill him several times to become the Mafia Lord. But his attempts failed many times because he was not that smart.

But now the case is not that. After several attempts he is experienced now. So he can be considered as our second suspect. Simon Walton. "

"And who is the last suspect? " Ryan asked him.

'Our last suspect? None other than Ben Smith! " Steven replied to them which made their eyes widened with shock.

"Ben Smith?! " Mia was shocked to hear his name. She didn't expected it. 'So Mr Steven is not as gullible as I thought. He is really cunning... '
