13. Envy

Mia saw a photo of Charles. In the photo, he was sitting on a sofa and his bodyguards were standing behind him. He was probably having a meeting with someone. The photo was blurred and there was not much information given in the post so the post was underrated.

Mia quickly checked the full information about the photo and contacted the owner of the post. She set up a meeting with the post's owner at a cafe near XX Street at 6 pm.

She then left her classroom and texted Ryan to meet him at the same cafe and the time. After a while, he agreed to meet her after knowing the reason.

After returning to her home, she quickly changed her clothes and ordered some food. She took her recorder and laptop in her bag. She put a secret mic on her dress which could record the whole discussion. She hid it under her top so it was invisible.

After the food arrived, she quickly ate it up. She was ready for the meeting. But at the last moment she realized that she forgot to take something important. She went towards her bedroom and opened the drawer near her bed.

An evil smile came on her face and she took the 'item' from the drawer. "How could I forget to take you love? Without you, who will protect me? Afterall, you are the only one who is loyal to me right! "

She opened another drawer and took an old medicine box and opened it. But instead of medicine, there were 'bullets' present in it. She took the bullets and filled it in the gun.

She was ready! She put the gun inside the secret pocket of her bag and left for the meeting.

Now, it was time to know the real culprit behind the whole scene. She was ready to face the situation because she didn't want any innocent person to be punished unnecessarily.

She was more alert now after knowing that if something happens, they will put all the blame upon them. She didn't want to get involved in all of this.

After losing her parents, she had been alone herself. She was forced to work from a young age so that she can earn some money for a living.

She begged on the streets, but she didn't get anything except for humiliation and disgrace. She didn't have any choice except to earn some money or else she would be dead a long ago.

She had to survive this harsh and cruel world. There was no one who could help her. The anger, frustration, humiliation, everything! Everything depressed her. The more she thought about it, the more it hurts her.

Even though she had a smile on her face, no one could know how much pain she had in her heart. She saw her parents dying in front of her eyes but she was helpless.

Her biggest guilt was that she wasn't able to save her parents. What could be more difficult for a child other than seeing her parents' death in front of their eyes? She was broken. But still she carried on.

She was determined to get justice for her parents, for herself! She still didn't forget what happened years before. Even though she didn't see the face of the culprit, she heard his voice. She could recognize his voice very well.

She remembered every single thing that happened that day! The day which she never wished to come again! The day which ruined her life... Her Everything!!!

But this was not the time to think about that. She diverted her attention to the cafe which was in front of her. She didn't even realise when she reached there.

She took a long breath and entered the cafe. It was 5:35 pm right now. She went towards an empty seat near the window and sat there. She ordered a cup of coffee and started waiting for them.

She was getting bored waiting for them. She was also pissed off because of the noise the kids were making who were also present there. She gave those kids a death glare which was enough for them to keep quiet.

Those kids pouted and returned to their seats. Their parents were also present there who were busy talking among themselves. When they got to know about their kids' mischief they apologized to Mia and others on the behalf of their kids.

This melted Mia's heart. Even though she was angry at those random kids, she envied them. If her parents were alive, would she also get loved by her parents like this?

If they were with her, would they also spoil her like them? Even though she thought about it, deep down in her heart she knew that they would never come back.

Her head felt heavy and her eyes were full of tears. She realized that she was crying when a drop of tear fell on her hands. She quickly wiped her tears and composed herself.

Suddenly, someone touched her shoulders from behind. She turned around and saw Ryan standing behind her. He saw her eyes were watery and red like she was crying. But she had a smile on her face.

He asked her whether she is fine or not. She replied to him that something got into her eyes which made her like this. Even though he didn't want to believe her he nodded towards her.
