5. Old Friend

Everyone was shocked at Mia's response. Till now whoever tried to provoke Charles, he would have been gone to hell. Charles is a ruthless and cruel person. He's more like a devil. But this girl actually dared to talk to him, facing his eyes. He had a murderous look in his face. But suddenly someone stood up and came between them. He faced Charles and defended Mia.

"No, I was the one who did it," he said. "What? Why are you defending me? It was clearly me who did it." Mia tried to take all the blame upon her but he didn't give up.

Ryan whispered to her, "No, I already told them that I was the one who did it. Now, don't try to spoil my plan. A fragile girl like you won't be able to handle it. Let me get this!"

"Plan? What plan are you talking about? And I don't want anybody to be my scapegoat." She said in an arrogant manner but he didn't listen to her and told her to stay away from this matter. She thought why is he helping her. They barely know each other but still he. She was really confused right now.

"Shut up! " the principal shouted. He then declared that Ryan was the one who recorded the video and Mia was innocent. He gave a warning to Ryan as he couldn't do more than that as he's the Chief General son. He gave a warning to Mia too for her misbehaviour.

Mia didn't want Ryan to be her scapegoat but she was helpless now. Charles was suspended from college for one week so that he can reflect on his actions and improve his behavior. {Which is never gonna happen 🙄}

"Ok then, I hope this type of situation is not going to happen again in the future. You all may take your leave now." The principal said while warning them. "Ok sir" they said in unison. They then left the office.

After leaving the room, Charles blocked Ryan's way. He gives a smirk to him and says, "Well well, my old friend, so now you've turned into my enemy huh? You even took others' blame just to frame me? Huh, who would have thought, I would get a fake friend like you." He said in a sarcastic tone.

"Friend? Which friend are you talking about? "Ryan said giving him a doubting look. "My friend was not a devil like you. He was friendly and caring to others, not like you, a heartless devil." His face was full of anger.

"Hmm… Looks like you really hate me now. Ok then, don't blame me for making your life hell now. I won't spare you. Never! " Charles gritted his teeth.

"I don't even need your mercy! " Ryan shouted back.

After Charles left with fury, Ryan confronted Mia. She was still confused and was wanting an answer from him. Finally, he sighed and made up his mind to tell her the truth.

Mia asked him, "So why did you help me? And what is the relationship between you two (Ryan and Charles)?"

"Ok then, listen carefully. I actually had 3 main reasons to defend you. " Ryan said.

"First was that, I wanted to help Charles. Actually he used to be my childhood friend. We were best friends, just like buddies. Even when I was not talking to others, he was the only one who still stayed by my side. He wasn't that type of person he is right now.

But after we came to high school, his behavior changed suddenly. He started to follow his father's footsteps and became the leader of a gang. He slowly became more arrogant and cruel and turned into a ruthless gangster. We tried to stop him but he didn't listen to us and lastly we broke our friendship.

After that, we didn't really talk and it became hard to get along. I tried many ways to return him the way he was but I failed. I had no choice other than to get him punished for his deeds. But I was late. He already became a top gangster, which everyone feared. So that's why I wanted to get a chance to make him guilty."

Mia was shocked but sad listening to him. She really felt sorry for him. "How hard it must have been right. " She asked with disappointment but he only nodded towards her. He continued...

"The second reason was that I didn't want one more life to be ruined by him. Whenever someone tried to expose him, he vanished from the world. In other words, he was killed by them or sent to an isolated place, where no one could find him. I didn't wanted your life to be wasted on a sc*mbag like him.

I knew, if you tried to provoke him, he won't let you off, that's why I took your blame. Even though I wanted some evidence against him, I didn't get any. But when you leaked the video, that was a nice chance for me. That's why I took all the blame upon me. As a Chief General's son, no one can harm me. " He said in a scoffing tone.

Mia was quite satisfied by his answer. "So in other words, you saved my life." He replied "You can say so."

"What about the third reason? " She asked him. "The third reason?.."
