Friend's talk...

Keylie went inside her dorm, what sight waiting for her was surprising. Amy was sitting on her bed, okay it's not unusual but what was unusual was that she was crying. by the looks of it, she's been crying for a while now.

     Keylie went near her and took off Amy's hands off of her face. If there's any other day amy would've thrown a tantrum that keylie sees her crying, amy seems to believe it's embarrassing to cry in front of others but not now.

     Amy just let her see like that and that made Keylie even more worried.

    "What's wrong, Amy?? Did something happen?" keylie thought today was the worst day for her to meet her crush's fiance but it's just not her sh*tty day it seems.

    Amy broke down even more. Keylie went to sit on her bed and hugged her tight.not asking questions anymore. she decides it's best to wait a little till amy calms down.

     With the weight of Amy's on her, Amy's tears wetting her shoulder, keylie let out the tears she has been holding on her way back. It seems today's events are finally getting to her.

     It's stupid for keylie to have a silly crush and actually cry over it. Amy didn't know about how keylie feels towards Mr Carson, it's not like she didn't trust her but it's something that keylie admitted was delusional.

After half an hour or so, Keylie let go of amy when she realised amy stopped crying. She pulled away and wiped Amy's tears with her hands.

Amy was still hiccuping and sniffing a little. Keylie stands to get her some water. She went to the kitchen and came back with a glass of water.

Amy was looking anywhere but her, probably embarrassed by her outburst. keylie handed the glass to her, saw amy taking small sips and put down the glass on the bedside table.

" so, are you going to say it or not ?"

Keylie asked. still giving the hint that if amy doesn't want to share, it's completely fine.

Amy was silent for a while then whispered in a crooked voice." We broke up."

it took keylie few seconds to register her words.

" what ?" " We broke up, he's going abroad and said he doesn't want a long distance relationship. He seems to believe it will not work out for us." Amy's voice broke a few times, seems like she's ready to cry again.

Amy's boyfriend, Taylor. They have been in a relationship for 5 years and those years they were insufferable to each other. Keylie met her boyfriend a few times and from what she has seen they were totally in love. So it comes quite surprising for her that they decided to end the relationship.

" i don't know what to say.." keylie was speechless and a little awkward in those situations. her sister would have handled that a lot better, would've said something comforting but here she is, not knowing what to say to her friend and roommate of three years.

     " Why were you crying though ? don't lie, i know you cried too." said Amy, breaking keliye's thoughts.

       Keylie's crush on Mr Carson is only known to Becky. Amy is totally clueless about it, and now with what happened in the gym, keylie doesn't want to tell Amy about it too.

 It was nothing but a delusional feeling.

      " Well, you see.. I just had a bad grade in a test and my parents called me this morning. It was just a pent-up frustration." keylie half lied, since that was also true.

     After crying, keylie did feel some calm but a dull ache in her heart refused to leave. She needs to leave, she needs some fresh air, she feels like suffocating, she needs something to make the pain go away, something, anything.please.

     With a deep breath, Keylie stands up from the bed. Holding out her hand, making Amy look up to her in question, but she took her hand nonetheless, letting keylie pull her up and make her stand also.

    " Let's go out, let's have some ice cream." keylie said, putting as much excitement as she can at this moment.

    Amy looked at her for a few seconds before letting out a soft chuckle.

    " It's winter and night, you want to go outside to eat ice cream?" keylie nodded her head excitedly. "Okay you know what, let's do this."

     With that, they both grabbed their cardigans and went out.

     They walked a good half hour and went to a convenient store, buying the ice creams and sat on a booth.

    They were not the only ones here, but eating ice cream ? They sure were.

     Keylie decided to initiate a talk, though the silence was comfortable, but she can't risk Amy's mind going back to her ex-boyfriend again.

    " You know I just mentioned that I had bad grades." keylie said. Amy looked startled, like this break her train of thoughts.

    Yes, definitely was a good decision to talk.

    " Ah yes... What about that?" Amy asked, turning towards keylie to show she's listening.

    " Well, my professor said I can increase my grades, he asked me to write something, just think it is like an essay." keylie explained, seeing the confusion on Amy's face.

    " Yeah ? Well what's the topic?" Amy asked, going back to eat a spoonful of ice cream.

     Keylie bought herself a coffee almond budge ice cream and Amy decided to go with pistachio flavor.

       " It's up to me. He told me I can write about anything, if it's good, my grade can also be increased. I don't want to miss this opportunity."

     "Hmm..." Amy hummed, tapping the spoon on her chin, looking up. " How about you write something on unrequited love ?"

     Speechless, that's the look keylie gave Amy. All this time she's trying to distract Amy and herself from their heartbreak and Amy is poking exactly at that.

    "Hey don't look at me like that.! I'm not saying this because of my break-up, well maybe I am but think about it, everyone will write anything about love, a little will give thought to unrequited ones. And to remind you that, Taylor loved me as much as I did so it was not exactly an unrequited one." Amy took her time to explain herself.

     Keylie thought to herself for some seconds, Amy let her think it through while she focused on the ice cream again.

     All of a sudden, keylie hugged Amy tightly, startled her, trying to push her away, but keylie just tightened her arms around her.

    Amy just sighed and asked, "now what is this for?" her tone was fond.

    " thank you so much !!! I think it'll work if I write on that topic." keylie nearly shouted.

     With the situation she's in right now, crushing over a guy for years who's already taken is pretty much like an unrequited love. how her feelings bloom at first, how it keeps growing, and now the heartbreak about having those feelings that'll never be returned. Yes she can do that, changing her feelings into words as much as she can.

     keylie gives a kiss to Amy on her cheek, and finally lets herself push away.

    They finished the ice cream and went back to the dorm with a much better mood.

    reaching the dorm, Amy went to sleep as soon as her head with the pillows. Keylie busied herself writing that essay that'll give her a chance to improve her grades.
