Painful Crush Destined

Painful Crush Destined

1st and Last Chapter

My name is Sophia and I have a painful crush on a boy named Darn. He is a very popular boy in our school and everyone thinks he is perfect. He has many friends, he is athletic and always happy. I have tried to avoid him since I started school because I know he will make me feel uncomfortable.

I have been trying to avoid him for a week, but I can't help myself. Every time I see him, my heart races and my stomach gets all fluttery. When he smiles at me, my face turns red and I try to look away. I don't want to be that person who has a crush on someone that everyone else thinks is perfect.

One day, at lunch, Darn and his friends sit down at our table. I sit across from him and try to act normal. We eat and talk, but I can't seem to pull my eyes off him. He is laughing and talking with his friends, but I can see the sadness in his eyes. I wonder what it is that makes him so happy all the time.

After school, Darn and I are planning to walk to the library to check out some books. I am nervous as we walk down the street, afraid that he will notice me and ignore me again. But to my surprise, Harn turns to me and smiles.

"Hey, Sophia," he says, "I appreciate you trying to avoid me. But I actually wanted to talk to you."

I feel my heart beat faster, and my cheeks turn pink. "Um... okay," I say, pretending to act casual.

"Can we be friends?" he asks, surprising me.

I smile, feeling relieved. "Of course," I say.

We walk to the library together and check out some books. I ask him about his hobbies, and he tells me about all his sports practices. We laugh and talk, and I realize that he is not as perfect as everyone thinks.

As we walk back home, Darn turns to me and says, "You know, I have been trying to avoid girls like you since I started high school. I thought I needed to keep a distance because I didn't want anyone to think I had a crush on someone like you. But I realized that I have a crush on you."

I feel my heart skip a beat, and I start to feel excited. But then I think, "How can he like me? I am not a popular, athletic girl. I am just an average girl who tried to avoid him."

But Darn continues, "But don't worry, I don't want us to be anything more than friends. We will be friends, and we will be okay with it. I just want to be true to myself, and I want to be friends with you. Do you understand?"

I nod, feeling relieved. "I understand," I say.

We walk back home together, sharing an understanding that our friendship is more important than anything else. From that day on, we walk to school together, share lunch together, and just be there for each other when needed.

Sophia and Darn's friendship grew stronger with each passing day. The painful crush to be destined has turned into a true and genuine friendship. And I realized that it doesn't matter what others think, as long as you have friends who believe in you, who support you, and who love you, anything is possible.

The end.
