Episode 20

While Matt had wanted to punish his sister for being so reckless by intruding on his privacy with intrusive questions, that notion vanished when he saw that at least she had made the effort to prepare them a good meal. It wasn't a mere breakfast; rather, it was an abundant spread featuring a little of everything, promising him and his mate a very nutritious feast.

Monica relished the breakfast and felt her body gradually recovering with the passage of time, leaving her with much to thank her mate for. If he weren't such a romantic and attentive man, her recovery would be much slower, but she felt blessed by the gods to have a mate so complete, capable of doing everything for her.

After eating, a question began to persist in Monica's mind. Matt had mentioned in the bathroom that he wanted to know two things, yet he had only clarified one—the matter of the mark.

"Matt, what was the other thing you wanted to know? You said you had two questions but only addressed the mark's issue," she inquired.

The Alpha internally chastised himself for forgetting to ask his mate what he most wanted to know.

"Forgive my absent-mindedness, my mate, but having your naked body close to mine makes me lose my sense," he confessed.

Monica couldn't believe how blatantly her mate could discuss such topics as if they were nothing. She now understood that her mate was just as unabashed as his brothers, yet he knew how to disguise it well.

"Returning to our previous conversation, what I want to know is what you plan to do about that pest who caused so much harm in your first life. I want you to know that you have my full support for whatever you need, and if you wish for me to eliminate him and your treacherous ex-friend today, I'd gladly do it. I, too, have unfinished business with them," he declared.

Matt knew his mate was the strongest witch and thus the queen. Nevertheless, he didn't want her to face that psychopath and Lana's madness alone for fear they might employ some trick to harm her or ensnare her once again, which is why he refused to leave her side anew.

It moved Monica and filled her with joy that Matt was willing to do everything to protect her and aid her in ending Richard and Lana. She decided to accept his help because she wasn't the only one affected in their past lives, and the more assistance, the better. She couldn't afford to make a mistake this time, that might result in her or her loved ones getting wounded by those miscreants.

"I've already planned everything to finish them, my alpha, and I'm glad I can count on your support to destroy them. I intend to return to my territory a month early to unmask those two before everyone, and then make them feel the pain my lineage, my family, and I suffered at their hands. What goes around comes around, and this time I won't be giving them any advantages. If I remember correctly, they attack my territory three days before my return, which is why I plan to return a month early to toss their plans into disarray, allowing everyone to see for what they truly are and prevent what they planned to do with all of us and the world," she explained.

Monica shared with Matt that thanks to her powers, she could use portals to visit her territory and set up small surveillance cameras in her office, in Lana's room, and in Richard's room to gather evidence when it came time to confront them. Although she and Matt could annihilate them easily, she didn't want them to appear monstrous for killing Richard and Lana without reason, as everyone else viewed them as exceptional sorcerers, the perfect boyfriend, and best friend.

The Alpha was amazed by the ingenuity of his mate's plan. Had it been him, he would have already slaughtered the two without a second thought. However, his mate was correct; they needed to be cold-headed to handle matters properly and avoid being painted as villains for an unjustifiable massacre.

Monica's plans made it abundantly clear to Matt why she was chosen by the gods to wield immense power—capable of being cold, cruel, and calculating when necessary, yet also fair and patient when the time called for it. He felt fortunate to have been selected from so many lineages and men to be her life partner.

"I must admit that your plans are far superior to mine, and I also want to congratulate you because despite everything you've endured, you didn't succumb. You've risen like a phoenix to end those who caused you so much harm. Know that you have not only my support but that of my family and the entire werewolf lineage if you so desire to finish those two," he declared.

Monica embraced Matt, feeling secure in his arms, and thanked him for his kindness. He had not only forgiven her and granted her a new chance to be at his side but was also willing to help her defeat her foes.

"Thank you for giving me so much, my alpha, though I don't deserve it. We don't need that many people to finish those two. That's why only you will go to my territory to stand by me as my support, for I cannot face them again without you and remain in control. Your brothers will also go as our backup, and of course, I will go too," she said.

While Matt tried to persuade Monica to bring a large contingent of his warriors, he couldn't. Monica knew Richard and Lana lacked substantial support, so with just her brothers-in-law, Matt's escort of warriors, Matt, and herself, they could overcome the pair and anyone on their side. Left with no choice, Matt agreed, trusting in his mate's judicious yet cautious; he convinced her to have a backup plan.
