Episode 5

"Oke," Ivy smiled as she looked out the car window beside her. But that was only for a moment because she looked back at her mommy when she remembered something. "Mom, who is Daddy? Why do Ivy's friends always talk about their Daddies who always play and go out with them?"

*Screech*.

Arneta, startled by her daughter's question, unconsciously stepped on the brakes, causing the car behind them to honk loudly.

"Why is Mommy silent?" Ivy asked again when she didn't hear a response from her mommy about who Daddy is.

"Daddy is the same as a father," Arneta answered, forcing a smile.

"So, is Daddy Ivy's father Ayah Candra?" she asked confused. "But why doesn't Ayah Candra live with us? Not like Ivy's friends' Daddies who always take them to school every day?"

Arneta, unsure of how to answer, was saved by their car arriving at Ivy's school. She quickly dropped off her little daughter and accompanied her to class before rushing off.

In reality, Arneta didn't want to answer her daughter's questions, but if she did, Ivy would keep asking many things that would corner Arneta even more.

"Yes, God. It seems today has come. The day when my little daughter asks about her Daddy figure," Arneta whispered while crying.

She now felt extremely confused, whether her decision to keep Ivy's biological father a secret was right or wrong. Considering her daughter needed the love and care of a father.

"No, no. You were right, Arneta, to hide Ivy. Even if that man knew you were pregnant with his child, he would have asked you to abort it," Arneta mumbled, justifying what she had done.

Considering how angry that man was after realizing they had spent one passionate night together while both intoxicated. He even threatened to kill her if anyone else found out about it.

"There's no need for you to regret anything, Arneta, especially for a cruel man like him. He probably has many children by now," Arneta said while wiping the tears that fell on her cheeks.

Not wanting to be trapped in her past any longer, Arneta hurriedly drove her vehicle to the office. She could only hope that her little daughter would forget about her questions regarding her Daddy. Arneta also hoped that they would never again encounter the cruel man who had contributed to Ivy entering the world.

"Neta, come here quickly!" Nadine called out to her good friend who looked confused as they were already lining up to welcome their new CEO.

Arneta quickly ran towards her good friend, even though all eyes were now on her. Especially shortly after she stood up, Mr. Candra and the new CEO entered the office building.

All the employees welcomed the arrival of the company's owner, as well as Arneta. Although the woman chose to bow her head, knowing her mistake of being late and not joining Mr. Candra in directly welcoming the new CEO.

Her gaze, fixed on the floor, now saw several pairs of expensive black shoes glistening black. Arneta could guess that the owner of those shoes must have stopped right in front of her, especially since she clearly heard Mr. Candra introducing him to someone.

"Let me introduce him to you, Arneta. He will be your secretary from now on," Candra said to the man standing beside him.

Arneta raised her head to introduce herself directly to her new boss.

"Congratulations..." Arneta's words were suddenly silenced as she clearly saw the face of their new CEO. She almost stumbled if it weren't for Nadine holding her, because she felt weak and shocked upon seeing the man standing in front of her. The man she hoped she would never meet again, along with Ivy. "You...!"
