Chapter 4

After the incident, We left for home and I finally got rest.

"That was tiring..." I sighed and laid down on my soft fluffy bed. The house was not too extravagant but is decent. I looked at the ceiling and slightly... I felt a strange emotion from inside.

"School..."

I didn't particularly hate it.... but it didn't mean I liked it.

But... the place where we learn... is the place that gave me most of my bad memories.

"It's fine. I'll be fine." I said and smiled.

As my fingers explored the blanket, it hit something.

"Huh...?" I opened my blanket and saw a rectangular little thing.

"What... is this?"

I slowly picked it up carefully and pushed a button on the side and....

"Woah! What Is this?!"

It opened! It became bright and there was an image of a cat and a clock on the screen.

What in the world is this thing?!

"I-is this even... mine? I mean, no, it's Jin-Ah's, obviously..."

But I felt like happiness Rushed inside me. The feeling of seeing the thing that keeps me alive. Just what is this for?

I saw the word swipe up and swiped the screen up and then... it changed!

"How magical...!" I exclaimed. I saw little boxes and a face of a man... who must be her boyfriend.

"Where did she fish this guy out? With this ugly face..." I rolled my eyes thinking that I called myself ugly yet again.

"Kim Sun woo.... He looks like a girl. I should ask my mom about this later and break our relationship."

My eyes then wandered to the little boxes on the screen.

"What is this cute box?"

Then...

"Jin-Ah?"

I jumped in surprise and shouted. "What?!"

Then... I noticed that it was my mom, opening the door. Slowly, my heart became slower, and I calmed down.

"You surprised me...."

"I'm sorry, Jin-Ah. I was just happy that I forgot you need privacy..."

"Why would you be happy about me going to that place?"

It's just weird.

"You.... you've hated going. I thought I failed to raise you but... it seems not. I'm just glad you've made up your mind." She smiled at me.

Woah... her smile is so beautiful.

"Ah.... by the way, mom. What is the rectangular....."

Then I remembered. I slowly looked below my bed and....

It was broken!

"What is it?"

"N-nothing... just forget it... haha..." I laughed, avoiding the disaster.

"Give me that."

I avoided her gaze.

"Jin-ah, listen to your mother. Give me that."

"Th-there really was nothing there though..." I laughed, trying to escape from my doom.

"Jinyoung Lee! Show me what that was!" This time, she sounded enraged.

I humbled myself down and picked it up, giving her the thing that was broken.

"Jin-ah..."

Ah, I'm doomed.

"You're grounded!!!"

As soon as I heard the punishment, I smiled. Grounded? It seems... a miracle has come.

I finally get to be alone!!
