The marginalized student

Once upon a time, there was a girl who was as beautiful as the morning sun.

Smooth brown hair, beautiful ruby eyes, a lovely figure, and a charming charisma.

The story was about a sweet romance that everyone adored.

She was born in a small town surrounded by mountains. From a young age, she always stood out for her natural beauty and great charisma, making her beloved by everyone.

As she grew older, her beauty accentuated even more, becoming a stunning young woman. Her bright ruby-like eyes attracted all gazes, and her soft, delicate skin seemed like porcelain. Her smooth and shiny brown hair gently fell over her shoulders, giving her an angelic air.

In addition to her appearance, Emilia... was also a very kind and helpful person... always willing to help others and do everything possible to make them feel good. That's why she was very loved and respected in her community.

Emilia, the beautiful girl I mentioned, did not have even a small romantic feeling toward her best friend.

But Dante, her best friend, did feel something for Emilia.

He was deeply in love with her.

However, this is not a story with a happy ending for our hero.

The hell that awaited him was so close that he couldn't notice it.

In the blink of an eye; he was accused, tortured, his family was executed, and his will to live plummeted.

But there was something that motivated Dante, LOVE.

That was the little spark of energy that helped him find the motivation to escape from that hell.

But let's say he never could escape; we should already know what happened, so let's skip all that and return to the present.

"W-What are you doing... here?"

Unable to contain his anxiety, Dante got up from the ground in an instant.

"I'm sorry for showing you such an unpleasant scene!"

The girl, who appeared confused, apologized desperately.

"Er..."

What are you doing here, you... damn NTR lover?" Dante couldn't accept this situation and showed his desperation when facing the Detonator.

Emilia looked at Dante with surprise, not understanding anything of what was happening. The image of the man beside her, with a lost gaze and trembling body, worried her.

"Are you okay?" she asked, getting a little closer.

"Yeah, yeah... just that... I didn't expect to see you here, Emi... I mean..." he replied, trying to calm down.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" she said, apologetic.

With nothing more to say, I lower my head and leave quickly; I don't want to have anything to do with the person who caused my death. I definitely don't want to have anything to do with her, and if I do, I'll be accused of betrayal no matter what I do. That's why I'll protect the princess and my queen, even if it costs me my life. Because I'm already prepared for this; I'm no longer in Japan; I'm no longer Hikaru Yoshida. Now I am... Dante Bearelf.

The encounter between these two.

It lasted relatively very little.

But here is a small difference.

Emilia didn't know it was her best friend... the reason? It's because, for Emilia, her best friend is not slim, and of course, he's not attractive at all.

Her image of Dante is of a guy with overweight, who simply gave her friendship out of pity.

But how did Dante change so drastically? There are many possibilities.

But before reincarnating in the world we know, Hikaru's soul directly linked to Dante's body.

What this did is copy a different version of Hikaru's original body.

And make an identical copy, modifying Dante's body.

The only things that changed were the overweight, eye color, and hair color.

And when Dante (Hikaru) became aware minutes after reincarnating, a shockwave was generated.

This shockwave modified the memories of people who had memories with Dante.

Another possibility is the multiverse.

The multiverse theory only makes sense if it reflects the different probabilities of each atom and, by extension, each being.

The consequence is that, according to this interpretation of reality, every person has doubles in other universes.

Crossing universes.

But of course, I don't think this is possible.

Although reincarnation and the multiverse theory are possible explanations, it could also be that Dante simply decided to change his lifestyle and start taking care of his body. Perhaps, after what happened to Hikaru in his previous life, Dante realized the importance of being healthy and prepared for any situation.

Furthermore, Emilia may have simply not paid attention to Dante's physical appearance in the past, and now that she sees him as attractive, her perception of him has changed.

Sometimes, our opinions and perceptions of someone can be influenced by how they present themselves to us.

Either way, the situation between Dante and Emilia is complicated. Dante finds himself in a difficult position having feelings for his friend, while Emilia seems confused by Dante's new appearance and doesn't recognize him as her friend.

As Dante tries to protect the princess and his queen, his relationship with Emilia could be affected by his secrets and new identity. Tension between them could increase as Dante struggles to balance his feelings and duties.

However, in the end, the truth always comes to light. Perhaps, if Dante is honest with Emilia and tells her the truth about his past and new identity, they can overcome the barriers and find happiness together. Or maybe, they will have to accept that their relationship cannot be what it once was and move on separate paths.

Of course, the latter would be the best if Dante wants to change the future...

"Oh, God... I don't want to run into her again!"

As he immerses himself in his thoughts, he recalls his past as Hikaru Yoshida and the way he died. He feels a deep pain in his heart, but also a sense of determination to protect the important people in his current life.

He realizes that he can't change the past, but he can change the future. Therefore, he is determined to do whatever it takes to protect the princess and his queen, even if it means sacrificing his own happiness.

With little breath left, I find myself in a hallway resting. Suddenly, I feel a presence beside me and turn to see a student with dog ears looking at me with concern.

"Are you okay?" the student asks.

"Eh? Yeah, yeah... I'm fine," I respond, confused.

"I saw you running down the hallway, and you seemed a bit flustered. Just wanted to make sure you're okay," the student explains.

"Oh, thanks... it's just that... I had an awkward encounter with someone," I confess.

"I'm Dante, by the way. And you?"

"I'm Alex, a first-year student. Nice to meet you, Dante," the student with dog ears responds.

"Nice to meet you too, Alex. How's university life treating you so far?"

"Well, I'm still adjusting, but overall, I really like it. I enjoy the academic atmosphere and the opportunities the university provides," Alex replies with a smile.

"Great. I'm enjoying my time here too. What are you studying?"

"I'm majoring in magical engineering. I love technology and the challenges it presents. How about you?"

"Well, I'm not sure yet... but I love reading and writing, and I've always been passionate about stories and creativity," I respond with a smile.

"That's awesome! I've always admired people who can write fascinating stories. Do you have a favorite author?"

"I definitely have many favorite authors, but one of them is Gabriel García Márquez. I love how he can blend the magical and the real in his stories," I reply excitedly.

"...eh?"

"Oh... that's right... I got carried away... I forgot I'm in another world... And all the books I've read don't exist."

I realize that all the books I read before my reincarnation don't exist in this world...

It's a shame that I can't share my favorite stories with Alex.

But at the same time, I'm excited about discovering new stories and authors I had never known before.

I refocus on the conversation with Alex and ask:

"Have you heard of a book called 'The Magic Adventurer'? It's an incredible story about a man born in poverty who managed to create his own form of magic to defeat the demon king."

Alex looks surprised and looks at me with curiosity.

"That sounds very interesting! I haven't heard of that book before. Who's the author?"

"Well, it's an author I recently discovered. His name is Jack Rutherford, and he has an incredible talent for creating fascinating worlds and characters," I reply with a smile.

"I'll definitely have to look for that book. Thanks for the recommendation, Dante," says Alex, excited.

"You're welcome! If you like adventure, I'm sure you'll love that book," I reply with a smile.

Alex decides to leave, and seconds later, the bell rings.

"Is it the inauguration?"

I look to the side and see people heading to the same place. Should I follow them?

With that question in mind, yes.

I followed the group to a very large place.

I peeked my head through the side of the door.

My first impression was that, despite being an inauguration.

It was very well decorated.

I have to admit that it's too beautiful.

"As I was told..."

Each person is separated into rows with their respective rank.

In the first row on the right: there are people of different races.

The middle row: represents a very high rank.

But the left row: people are in different school uniform styles, I guess they would be the commoners.

"So, are you a commoner?" he asked curiously.

"Yes, I suppose so," Alex shrugged. "But I don't mind. I'm here to learn and enjoy this experience."

Dante nodded, impressed by Alex's positive attitude.

"You're right, Alex. University is a unique opportunity. We should make the most of it, but go back to your row... a lot of people are watching you," Dante said, smiling.

"Uh... ah, um... I... I'm really sorry! I'll try to get back to my row!"

"It's... wait!"

Ah... he's gone. Hopefully, they won't give him any trouble...
