CHAPTER 2

'Why the sudden love?', Aaron asked. 'Just leave, none of your business!', I rolled my eyes at him.

I didn't feel like coming to college for the time being, it was a hassle honestly. I started skipping classes. They sent James's body in two days and the funeral was held. The neighbour came and some friends. James, talking about him, was a sweet cheerful boy.

'Honestly, I never hated him. It was me who was a pain for him, I don't know why. He was the most precious human to me. It's just that I am much smarter, not to brag about it, but this fact got him jealous of me instead of getting inspired. Parents left us in our care, perhaps in my care. Soon after we shifted here, initially we were more peaceful, but later it got worse after post-puberty. People need to feel superior to survive. It doesn't bother me anyway. We brothers look the same just that he looks more approachable, I am just his gloomy side. I wish I was more like him.', sighed sadly.

As I mentioned I started to skip classes and now that was turning into a habit. I stayed home and munched, and went out for walks and drives. Turning myself from a loner to a super loner, lol.

FOUR DAYS AFTER THE FUNERAL

I decided to go to James's room.

He and his friend, Joseph, are best buddies. They have been good at one thing, painting. The room was filled with their paintings. Joseph frequently came home, and they usually spent time painting and listening to music. It was never so silent.

Aaron is simply a person to stir trouble in the classroom. The day before I got a call.

'Hey, this is Aaron.', I wondered why he would call me. 'Yeah, what's up?', confused. 'Nothing, since no one's talking about it, I was asking did you find the killer?', my heart dropped. 'The police are looking into it.', and I hung up.

It was a silent phase. A neighbour had moved into the next apartment recently. I decided to greet her.

*Knock knock*

I gazed at the pretty lady standing in front of me.

'Hello, how may I help you?', her voice so sweet, melting in my ears.

Baffled, I replied,' No- nothing, I heard a neighbour move in so came to greet them.' She passed a sweet smile. 'I am Sophia.', she reached out her hand for a handshake. 'Daniel', I shook her hand.

'Sorry to hear about your brother, may his soul rest in peace.', I nodded to her comforting words. 'You can come over and talk to me if you like.', she paused and continued, 'I am studying psychology so hopefully will be able to help you a little.', 'Thanks, and if you need any help you can reach out to me too.', I ended the conversation and came back to my house.
