A WALK BACK

Now in a park full of nature,

Yellow and blue intrepid soil, so innocent and pure,

My mother’s pride when I was still a little damsel.

Just a little while ago, her clothen hung loosen bellow her bosom,

Her swift leg in the forest of plenty,

Her eye of eagle scanning through every foliage,

Her mind playing back what she was taught.

My mother pride never failed her,

Even though I hated then to be proud now,

The thing which battled my inner soul.

My tongue curled in defense,

To my waged villain and friend.

I have now become a scholar about it,

My brain reciting every lyrics and verse.

“A shelter to my body, keeper of history-

Savior in the hands of native doctors-

Source of life for both me and animal…”

Ah! How can I forget,

It been transformed to color and heal,

Or, how can I forget?

My mother awake at four,

Already bent high and low,

Back in front of her burning firewood humming her native song,

To please her husband to his heart content.
