Visiting grandma

...•Aria's POV•...

I wore a turtle neck long sleeves of kinda coffee colour with black high waist jeans tieing my hair up in a ponytail.

I came out of my room and Betty started ranting about what we are gonna do? What my grandma going to think about her? Will she like her? And all the random things.

When we reached the hospital I asked receptionist about my grandma's room number as she just got shifted from emergency room. The nurse allowed us to talk with grandma for few minutes without giving her too stress.

I opened the door of her room and saw her sleeping on the hospital bed. Betty looked at me and I showed her a small smile and she gave my hand a little squeeze. We went near her and grabbed two stools to sit beside her bed.

"Grandma, I am here." I said lowly holding her hand. She slowly opened her eyes and looked towards me.

Her face was covered with the ventilator mask so I couldn't see her properly. I can see through her eyes that she had a smile on her face.

She held my hand too and I can feel her rough hands in my palm. Her hold was not tight as she was still feeling weak but enough tight to not let go my hand.

"How are you feeling? I am here, ok?" I said and she removed her oxygen mask. "I missed you Aria." She said weakly and I felt I was going to tear up at any moment.

"I missed you too grandma." I said controlling my tears. Her eyes landed on Betty and they both smiled to each other. "Hi grandma, I am Betty. Aria's friend."

"Yeah she works with me. So we are co-workers too." I said and Betty nodded. "Oh that's great!... So how is work going?"

"Yeah it's cool." I said and Betty raised her eyebrows. "You neet to tell her." She said and I sighed. "Yeah we both got a promotion and now from tomorrow we are going to work in our main branch."

"Really!? I am so happy." She pulled me for hug and patted my back. "I am proud of you!" She whispered and I pulled back as I couldn't control my tears. "Thank you so much grandma." I sniffed looking down towards my fingers.

Betty wrapped her one arm around me pulling to hug me sideways. "It's ok Aria. Grandma will be fine and soon will be out from here making delicious dishes for you!" She rubbed my shoulders and I nodded looking at her.

"I am so happy that Aria have a friend like you, Betty." Grandma said and Betty shook her hand. "I am grateful to be her friend grandma. She is really kind and sweet."

I wiped my tears and looked towards grandma. "You need to come home soon. So get well soon." I said and grandma smiled. "I will."

The door opened and a nurse walked in. "I guess it's enough for today. The patient needs to rest now." She said and I nodded. "We will leave soon." I said and she kept some medicines beside grandma's bed on a table.

"Did you heard anything from Jack recently?" Grandma asked and I looked towards her shocked. "Why? Why are you asking about him?" I asked nervously.

"Actually"- The nurse cut grandma. "By the way, Ms. Dan just have a chat with doctor before you leave, ok? He need to talk about this week's report as you are guardian of the patient." She said and I nodded. "Sure, I will meet him before leaving." I said and she left the three of us.

I turned back towards grandma, "Yeah what were you saying?" I asked. "It's ok, you should go now. I will tell you some other time. I need to put this mask on."

"Huh? But"- Betty stood up and grabbed her purse. "Let her take rest." She said and I looked towards grandma. Is she hiding something?

"Fine." I got up and grandma wore the mask on waving both of us a good bye and layed on the bed.

What happened? Why is she asking about him suddenly?

We came doctor's cabin. "Hello doc." I said and sat on a chair opposite to his. Betty sat beside me. "Good morning Ms.Dan." He said opening a file. "Morning, so is there in any process in grandma's report?"

"Well, she is recovering but still we need to take care of her." He said turning the pages in the file. "Stress should not even touch her. Please don't talk anything with her which will give her tension."

"Oh yeah yeah, we will take care of that." I said and doc nodded. "Yes by the way do you know who is Jack Dan?" He said and my head shot up towards him. "Jack Dan?" I repeated the name.

"Yeah, do you know him? Who is he?" He asked. Why are everyone suddenly asking me about him and how doctor even know him?

The painful memories which I always wanted to remove from my mind suddenly flashed in front of my eyes. No no!

I quickly stood up and they both looked towards me confusingly. "What happened Aria?" Betty asked. "How do you know about Jack Dan, doc?" I asked. "He came to see your grandmother." Doc replied.

"What? And you allowed him to meet my her? How can you allow anyone just like that?" I shouted clenching my fist. Betty hold my hand. "Shh! Calm down Aria." She whispered.

"Calm down, Ms.Dan. He said that he is your relative as you both share the last name."

Relative? No he is not!!

"Did he said anything?" I asked. "Umm, he asked is she recovering or not and about her report. He said he will come again to meet her." Doc shrugged his shoulders.

"What?" He will come again? I sighed and gulped a large amount of saliva. "Thank you so much, doc. We will leave now. Thank you for your time." I said and bowed lightly. "But Ms. Dan. What if he come again? Should we allow him to meet the patient or not?"

"If he will come again just give me a call." I said and came out of his cabin. Betty followed me out behind me.

Why did you not told me about this grandma? Dad came to meet you? What happened to him now, huh? After so many years, suddenly coming to meet grandma? What do he want?

Betty hold my hand and turned me towards her. "What's wrong Aria? Who is this Jack Dan? Is he your relative or something?" She asked touching her head.

"He is my father." I sighed.

"Your father?" I nodded and tried to find a cab for me. "So what's with that reaction? Why you don't want him to meet your grandma?"

"Look Betty, I will tell about this any another day. Now I really think I need some time." I said and Betty nodded. "Yeah yeah no problem. Will you go home alone or should I come with you?" She asked.

"No no, you should go your home too. You were in my house from morning and you came to meet my grandma too. Thank you so much Betty." I said and hugged her.

"Oh, it's fine sweety. I will go my home now but if you will feel lonely or something do call me. I will come, alright?" She asked and I nodded. "Sure."

...•Valerio's POV•...

"Sir, you heard me right?" Jenny asked pulling me out from my thoughts. "Huh? Yeah I am listening. Please continue." I cleared my throat.

She nodded, "So our shareholders recently contacted me about the total assets might increase so they need to talk to you."

"Oh, I will call them." I nodded. "Ok!" She said and closed the laptop which was in front of her. "Is something wrong sir?" She asked politely. "No. Why?"

"It's because you keep zoning out and this never happened before that you got distracted from work. That's why I just thought that something might be wrong." Jenny said.

"Oh, it's nothing. Don't worry about me. I just think I have a head ache, that's it. It will get better." He said. "Ok sir, if you say so. Then I will leave now." She said and left the cabin.

Ugh! What's wrong with me? Why I keep thinking about her? I have had sex with girls before too. What's special about her? I should focus on my work. I shook my head and tried to remove her thoughts.

"What happened are you still having a headache?" Jenny asked as she was eating her food. "Huh? No no, I am good now." I said.

"Nah sir, I think you need someone to hear your situation. Because you were not focusing today." She said using her finger pointing in no. "Ahh.. It's nothing Jenny. Trust me!" I shook my head.

"Fine if you don't want to tell me then it's ok. I will not force you. Anyway I am just your's secretary, right? Yeah, why will you tell me. I am sorry." She pouted. Ugh, she is blackmailing me again.

I sighed rolling my eyes. "Yesterday I had sex with a girl." I said, it came out casually and Jenny chocked her food hearing my words.

She quickly grabbed a glass of water. She sipped water and looked at me. "What? You fu*cked a girl?" She asked and I just nodded in agreement as I took a sip from the glass of alcohol.

"How can you say that so casually?" She sighed and continued, "But you went there for a meeting, right?" She widen her eyes and I sighed. "Yeah, maybe I "But then what's the problem? You have already done that with many girls, didn't you?" She wiped her mouth with a tissue.

"Hey! You sounded like I am a player." I gave her a grumpy look. "Yes you are. I didn't said anything wrong." She said confidently shrugging her shoulders. I didn't said anything instead I just rolled my eyes looking away in response and she chuckled at my reaction.

"But then what's the connection of that girl and you zoning out today?" She asked raising her eyebrows. "I don't know." I sighed. "Who is she? Someone I know?" She asked.

"No you don't know her." I said. "Is she someone you know?" She asked. "Umm, not really!" I shook my head.

"Oh so you f*cked a stranger, didn't you?" She whispered so no one around us could hear as she leaned a bit close. We both were sitting opposite on a table.

"Yeah...but practically if we think she f*ucked me too." I said touching his chin. "Shh!!.. What are you saying? Slow down your voice." She panicked. "I think I did a mistake by asking you what happened." She touched her head.

"That's why I was not telling you. You insisted me, right?" I said and she took a deep breath. "But still I didn't understood why are you affected by that night? Are you still thinking of her?" She smirked.

I looked at her, "Huh? W-why will I?" I shuttered but she continued, "U-huh! You were definitely thinking of her. You can't deny it now." She chuckled.

"It's nothing. Come on, get up now. I think we should leave. I am full." I said while standing up from the chair. "What? I was joking. Why you are you offending?" She chuckled again.

"N-nah I a-am not offended. I am t-ired." I shuttered again. Ugh, why am I even shuttering? "But I am not done yet." She pouted. "Fine, then I will leave." I shrugged. "What?!! Wait for me. You ate so fastly. You know I can't..." She grumbled.

"I will take my car. My driver will wait outside for you. Don't go alone, go with him. It's late now. Don't get drunk, bye." I said and came out the restaurant.

I sighed and sat in the driver's seat of my car. Did I made a mistake telling Jenny about yesterday's night? Even though I know she is trustworthy and won't spit the secret to anyone.

My head turned towards the passenger seat. Aria was sitting here yesterday and sat on my lap here. Suddenly memories of last night flashed in front of my eyes. I suddenly felt something in my pants getting harder. I really hate how just thinking about her made me hard.

That just happened in the heat of the moment. I know this don't mean anything to her and maybe neither to me. I should forget about yesterday's night now. I should move on. I shook my head and drove off to home.
