Episode 8

ARIA

I hear voices all around me, but I can't open my eyes. A cold touch runs through my hand, and I can feel kindness in its touch. The burning in my shoulder and leg reminds me of the impact of the daggers thrown by the Rogues. "Where am I?" I try to move, but my body doesn't respond; it feels heavy as if made of granite. I focus on moving my hand and it seems like I've succeeded because I hear voices.

"Her hand!! She moved it. Does this mean she's improving, right? I'll call the doctor."

"Calm down, just because she moved her hand doesn't mean she's getting better. It could have been a reflex. The state she arrived in was critical, with silver poisoning, malnutrition, and injuries all over her body. The doctor said it would be a miracle of the Goddess if she survives."

"It's better to leave her alone. Besides, our father doesn't like us being here. We still don't know who this woman is and why she ended up in this condition."

"By the Goddess!! Look at her, she's practically a child. What could she have done to deserve such punishment? Those marks on her body show the severity of her punishment."

I feel a stab in my chest, not physical pain, but in my soul, upon hearing those words. For years, I've asked myself the same question... What could I have possibly done? To receive such mistreatment from that woman, who would insult me whenever she could, never missing an opportunity to strike me when I was just a little girl. I remember that Kiran used to defend me at first, bringing me food secretly when she punished me by depriving me of meals. At that time, I harbored some feelings for him, but everything changed after Alpha Markus' death. He disappeared for a whole month, and when I saw Kiran again, he was no longer the same; he had become just like his mother.

It hurts to know that the person who was supposed to protect me, who was supposed to love me, because he knew long before I did that we were Mates, was complicit in hurting me every day, insulting me. Although he never hit me, he also didn't do anything to prevent others from humiliating me, I think that was even worse.

"Calm down, Aria." I hear whispers in my head.

"Serena, is that you? Are you okay??"

"I'm still a bit weak, but you need to stay calm. Sleep, and I can heal us faster."

"I'm so sorry." little by little, I feel like I'm falling into the darkness of unconsciousness.

Where am I?

I sharpen my sight and find myself in a long hallway, everything is in complete darkness and I can see a small light in the distance. I cautiously walk towards it, but I feel someone grabbing my hand and preventing me from crossing the door from where the warm light emanates.

I turn my head and see a beautiful woman with black hair like mine. Her fair complexion makes it feel like I'm looking at myself in a mirror, except her eyes are green. In her other hand, she holds a small lamp that illuminates the darkness. Those green eyes, like emeralds, gaze at me tenderly, and with a smile, she says.

"My dear, it's not yet time for you to cross that door. You must fulfill your Destiny; they need you, he needs you."

"Who are you? Who are they? Whom do you refer to as 'he'? My Destiny?"

The woman raises her hand to caress my face, "You're already a woman. I'm sorry I couldn't be by your side. You have no idea how much I missed seeing your beautiful eyes, just like your father's."

"My father? You know him, please tell me who you are? Who is my father?" I'm surprised.

"My name is Ariadne, and your father's name is Albert. From the very first time we met, we knew we were destined for each other. You and your brother have been the gift the Goddess bestowed upon our love."

Tears stream down my cheeks.  I say in a choked voice, "You're my mother!!!" I can't stand it any longer; I embrace her and she receives me with so much love, holding me tight against her chest, tapping gently on my back.

I can't stop crying saying over and over again, "Mom... Mom... you don't know when I've longed to meet you, to be able to feel your caresses, love."

"My beautiful girl, forgive me for leaving you alone and allowing you to be hurt, but I couldn't do anything, I didn't have enough energy to break the seal that kept me prisoner."

I become calmer and dry my tears, "That doesn't matter anymore, now you are with me and you will stay by my side forever."

"My love, I fear that that will not be possible, I no longer belong to this world, I am just a memory that lives inside you, in your heart, but I will remain with you until you break the seals that I put in you and you can learn to use your gifts."

I say with a sad look, "Then I don't want to break the seals and use those gifts, so you will stay with me."

"Aria, I know that despite how much you have had to go through, you are not a selfish person, the Moon Goddess has told you about the duty you have to fulfill as the guardian and protector of the Races and the Royal lineage."

"But in addition, you also have to be prepared for the enemy that we all thought defeated, who was asleep, although he is still weak, the day will come when he regains his strength and will destroy the races and by then you must be ready to fight him. and eliminate it from the face of this world."

"To achieve that goal and fulfill your destiny, you need to not only train your body, but also your powers and that is why you must break the seals that I put on you and release all that power."

"It was fine, Mother." I nod.

"I knew you would understand, now it is time for you to regain consciousness and start your training. When it is time to break the next seal I will return to you to help you."

"Now wake up my brave warrior."
