Bloodstained Vengeance
Kiara's POV
Standing over the bodies, I laugh softly. They really thought they could get away, they really thought they had a chance. I stand a moment longer to soak up the scene. I hear the faint screech of sirens coming towards me, but I don't move. I know what will happen if they catch me, and they know what will happen if they don't. They are close now, I can see the lights behind me. I still don't move. I turn around and smile, I know what they think. That I'm this pyromaniac killing innocent people. Before they can get to me, I start running in the opposite direction of the cars. Little to many drops of the rain began falling and before I knew it, I was running. The rain took less than a second to begin pouring all over the streets.
From the corner of my eye, I see cops coming out of the cars and rushing towards the scene.
My heart was beating fast, listening to the muddy stomps and steps that belonged to the idiots in the NYPD. Quickly taking off my skirt and unbuttoned my suit, revealing a blouse. Throwing them on the ground, I wiped off the horrid makeup job i had done in a hurry using rain water to play it off as someone who was in distress. Taking a breath I walked the opposite way the police did, sighing.
Knots tying in my stomach, thoughts scattered around as I started loosing my balance. I need to stick my feet to the ground and have my stand.
The weight of those dead was becoming heavy with every step I took. There was no regret, no pleasure just guilt. Guilt that made me drown in the blood of those I had unalived. Usually I'd feel no remorse to witness such things but I had my own blood on my hands. It was devouring my thoughts and for once I felt an emotion other than anger or sorrow. Being raised my cold eyes taught me not to cry. And the reason for my anger was my father, the man who failed to be a dad. The word "Father" rotted in my mouth. I can hold a grudge like it's a hand.
"You were my family, and I loved you. But you are all terrible."
I wipe the blood off my face of those who punished me for my honesty. What they failed to understand was that when you punish a child for their honesty, they begin to lie.
