" What do you mean? ", Roman was confused.

' What does he mean by mate? I that he said she can't have a mate. And now this? ', Roman was lost.

" Maybe, if we find her mate I can use his blood to create a cure for her. ", he spoke.

" But...but you said before that...

Mr. Leander quickly cut him off. " I know what I said but we can try. Who knows, it might work. "

" Okay do what if we find her mate and the cure doesn't work. ", anger was slowly crawling towards Roman. " And how do we even find her mate? Tell me Mr. Leander. Tell me. "

" You of all people should believe and hope any solution that will save will work. ", Mr. Leander was a still calm.

He knew that Roman had feelings for Astrid but the thing was that Roman wasn't her mate.

Few years ago Roman wanted to know whether Astrid was his mate because he had feelings for her. He didn't was to frighten her or was it that he was scared of rejection. So he asked Mr. Leander to use his magic to check and see if Astrid was his mate.

But the truth was that she wasn't his and he was hers.

He felt heart broken. One would have thought that after all these years, Roman's felt would be dead. But that was wrong.

He still loved her.

That day when Roman found out the truth, decided to keep his love for her a secret.

He said to himself.

" If I'm not her mate. I can at least love her in secret. We can still be friends. "

" Okay. ", Roman agreed after breaking out of his thoughts.

" I will find her mate. "

" Good. ", commented Mr. Leander.

" But how do I know it's him when I find him? ", Roman still didn't like the idea for find Astrid mate.

The person who he has loved ever since he set his eyes on her.

Roman had embraced himself for this... but it still hurts. He didn't know if he was to be sad, happy or angry. He also felt a bit jealous.

But for Astrid, for only her, he was willing to do anything to ensure her happiness and safety.

" I'll tell you everything you need to know tomorrow. But give her this right now. ", Mr. Leander handed to Roman the bottle he had brought from his home.

" I'll be down stairs. I have to check you wound before I leave. ", silence fell into the room before Mr. Leander spoke once again. " I'll take my leave now, Master Roman. "

Roman nodded in response, after he left Roman slowly walked towards Astrid sat beside her.

For a few minutes the room was very silent.

He quietly stared at her fine featured face. This made him remember the picture.

He hurried to take it out of his pockets but when the picture was brought out it was extremely wet with the people's faces unclear. He placed it back and continued to stare at Astrid's peaceful face.

" I'll find your mate, my Lily. Trust me. And please hold on. This is the last and final time you'll experience such pain.", he said with great pain in his chest.

He laid a gentle kiss on her forehead the slowly covered her with the sheets.

He then walked towards the door and as much as he tried not to look back he could help himself. He gave a final glance and left.

Few minutes after Roman left a slender looking body come in. Standing at Astrid's side was a fuming Laurel who had been eavesdroping his whole time.

" What a ******* *****. Even with you illness he still loves you. Don't worry that will all change soon. After all he is no mate. ", Laurel smirked.

" You just don't know how to die do you? ", Laurel felt like screaming at the top of her lungs.

" Well if you die or not he'll still mine. ", Laurel smiled.

" Because mother says so. "

" Don't worry sweet Laurel will her Rome find your mate that way you'll be out of my hair because....no no ", she paused as if rethinking.

" Or I should rather work against him. I could prevent them from finding your mate. No mate no cure and no cure little Astrid's dead. How sad. ", she faked some tears while caressing Astrid hair.

" I can't wait to tell mother about this when I get home. Do excited. ", Laurel got up and left the room to go down stairs.

" Bye vegetable. "
