Episode 5

The next morning, Eliza woke up early. There was a lot of work to be done.

"Alright! It's time to clean this house!" she exclaimed enthusiastically before getting straight to work.

"Ugh, how long has it been since they cleaned this place?" she muttered to herself.

Everything was covered in dust, and there were cobwebs everywhere. The only clean areas were the rooms occupied by the servants and the kitchen. The rest of the house had been completely abandoned.

"Hehe, I have to clean this place very well. After all, it will be our love nest..." Eliza said with a smile.

Wearing an apron and two scarves to cover her hair and nose for protection from the dust, Eliza started dusting the furniture and sweeping away the cobwebs with a broom.

"What are you doing?" Christopher asked upon hearing the noise made by Eliza.

"I'm cleaning the house. Those idiots didn't even sweep the floor..." she replied.

Eliza continued cleaning, and Christopher couldn't understand why she was doing all of this. Maybe everything she said was true...

"You're really crazy..." Christopher muttered.

"Thanks," Eliza replied.

"That's not a compliment, you idiot!" Christopher shouted, then quickly retreated.

Christopher had been living in this house for several years. He had spent enough time to know where everything was and could navigate without tripping or crashing into things, as if he could see. His highly developed sense of smell and hearing allowed him to accomplish many things despite his blindness.

Eliza finished cleaning the hallways of the house and then set out to prepare breakfast before continuing with the rest of the house.

With her food cart, Eliza entered Christopher's new room, which was the master bedroom of the house and currently being used by a guard. It was clean and tidy, just like the other occupied rooms.

Christopher sat in a chair in front of the window, his face turned towards the outside as if he were looking at something. The sad reality, however, was that Christopher was completely blind due to a curse. His only solace and way of coping with this was to spend most of his days by the windows, listening to the sounds outside, such as birds singing or leaves rustling in the wind.

Eliza couldn't help but feel moved by this. In the novel, the villain's arc was quite heart-wrenching, narrating all the misfortunes Christopher had experienced since childhood, which had turned him into a cold and emotionless person. The moment the heroine showed him any affection, he surrendered as if his life depended on it...

"How I wish he could see again... but the only one who can make that happen is the heroine, and there are still many years before her appearance... Besides, I'd prefer them not to meet... The best way to protect Christopher is to prevent him from getting involved with the main characters."

Eliza shook her head, pushing these thoughts out of her mind, and put on a beautiful smile as she approached the small table in the middle of the room with the cart to start serving the dishes.

"It's breakfast time," Eliza said, and Christopher calmly stood up and made his way to the table, feeling around until he found a chair and sat down.

Eliza smiled proudly at Christopher's ability to adapt despite his blindness. She finished putting the plates on the table in front of him and then took a seat beside him to start feeding him.

Christopher didn't resist this time and simply ate in silence, while Eliza smiled, enjoying the moment.

It truly felt like a dream to be able to eat with her beloved villain and take care of him. And the wonderful thing was that it was a reality.

"Yes, this is my reality now, and I'm going to take care of and protect my cute villain," Eliza thought to herself.

After finishing breakfast, Eliza continued cleaning the house, and Christopher sat in front of the window again, unaware that a small smile graced his lips.

How long had it been since he felt so much peace? And it was all thanks to that crazy girl who suddenly arrived and changed everything, but fortunately, it seems to have been for the better, and that is something that displeases him...

On the other hand, Eliza continued with the cleaning of the house, which was not that big, but considering the fact that Eliza was currently an eight-year-old girl with a fairly thin and delicate body, it was a big job to clean it alone, but all the effort was worth it if it was for the comfort of her little villain.

At noon, she took a break to prepare lunch and then go to Christopher's room to feed him.

After lunch, she continued with the cleaning, and by evening, the house was completely clean, even the facade, and Eliza was very proud of the result; now it truly looked like an inhabited house.

After taking a bath, Eliza prepared dinner and returned to Christopher's room, who had stayed there all day in front of the window, to have dinner.

And while feeding Christopher, even though she fought with all her strength, tiredness overcame her, and Eliza ended up falling asleep on the table.

"I really don't understand why you do all this... you really are a fool..."

Christopher stands up and carefully walks to the bed to start preparing the sheets. He then returns to Eliza and, with much effort, carries the girl to the bed, laying her down carefully before covering her with the sheets.

Then, Christopher gets off the bed and carefully walks to the bathroom. Throughout the day, he made sure to memorize every corner of the room, and thanks to that, he can move freely without stumbling.

The boy approaches the bathtub filled with water and starts undressing before entering the tub.

Christopher brings his hands to the bandage covering his eyes and begins to remove it, revealing that part of his face, showing his completely blind eyes. Initially, his eyes seemed like precious rubies, but now they were just pale irises without pupils, resembling completely lifeless eyes, incapable of seeing anything.

Christopher lets out a sigh and washes his face before submerging himself in the water to relax for a while, then he gets out and takes some clean clothes he had decided to leave in the bathroom to avoid any problems.

Once ready, Christopher dries his hair with a towel and proceeds to put the bandage back over his eyes before leaving and heading towards the bed.

Pushing the sheets aside and crawling under them, Christopher approaches Eliza and begins to touch her face gently.

"I wish I could see you..." the boy says with a hint of sorrow in his voice as he starts touching Eliza's face.

Her cheeks are very soft and pleasant to the touch, and her features are small and delicate. It is evident that the girl is beautiful, and her hair is very soft and straight. It feels good to run his fingers through it.

This is the only way Christopher has to know her appearance, to feel her features, to imagine what she looks like in his mind...

Eliza starts moving in her sleep and ends up embracing Christopher, holding him tightly against her chest.

Christopher wants to pull away, but being in Eliza's arms is warm and pleasant, so in the end, he stays cuddled in her embrace, feeling the cool and pleasant scent that the girl emits.

It is a quite peculiar scent that he has never perceived before, but despite that, it is very pleasant and makes him feel safe... something he hasn't felt in a long time...

In the end, he also falls asleep, spending the most pleasant night he has had in years.
