At the Cafeteria

*eating his food* Hmm... Kim Seungmin, did you find a rental yet?

Kim Seungmin

*sighs* Why do you wanna know?

Han Jisung

It's because... I may or may not have found one rental, which is a one-bedroom flat... and it's a whopping 200 dollars per month only...

Kim Seungmin

*rolls his eyes at Jisung* I don't trust you. Even a stupid person with no knowledge of business wouldn't put a f**king flat on 200 dollars monthly.

Han Jisung

Well... in a way, you're right. The rent is 400 dollars. Very expensive I know. But if you really wanna move out as soon as possible, you should take the deal. The only catch is that you're gonna have a roommate to split the rent with. Does that sound good or...?

Kim Seungmin

*smiles* If you're not kidding then sign me up for it. I'm fine with a roommate as long as they're not being an a**h*le. I also don't wish for a roommate who's a night owl.

Han Jisung

*nonchalantly* I mean... you can talk it out with them personally and set some rules up. But then there's one thing that will make you decline the offer though.

Kim Seungmin

*raises an eyebrow* What is it?

Han Jisung

*sighs* The roommate is Hyunjin.

By the time Jisung answered back, Seungmin was sipping on his Iced Americano. The moment he heard that his roommate was gonna be Hyunjin, he spat out his drink in shock.

Han Jisung

*disgusted* Ew! Why are you spitting like that?! Get me a tissue to clean it up! Jeez...

Kim Seungmin

*wipes his mouth with tissues furiously* Are you f**king crazy? I can't even stand hearing his name and you want me to f**king live with him under the same roof?! Over my dead body!

Han Jisung

*chuckles* Okay, dude. Calm down for a minute first. Think it over thoroughly. What's your routine? You wake up early every morning and then get ready for classes. The classes end at four in the afternoon. Then you study at a library till eight or sometimes spend some time with us. You get to your place by nine and then eat dinner and sleep. You'll barely even have to speak to Hyunjin, whether it be at his rental or the Uni! The bare minimum is to tolerate his presence in the morning and the night, that's it. I know you can do it, man.

Kim Seungmin

*infuriated* No, dude! I f**king cannot!

Han Jisung

Then calm down! I'm not forcing you to live with him anyway. All the best, looking for a new rental while still living in that zoo of a hostel.

Seungmin sauntered away from the table yet again, but this time he was neither mad at Jisung nor Hyunjin. He was enraged at himself. He understood very well that Jisung was just trying to help him find a place and he also made an effort to make amends between Hyunjin and him, but Seungmin just couldn't do it. He couldn't help but feel this way for Hyunjin. He just couldn't help but despise him.

Later that evening, when Seungmin returned to his hostel, he noticed that the door to his apartment was left a little open. Being skeptical of the trouble, Seungmin pushed open the door to the room just to see his three roommates being handcuffed by a police officer. He was beyond dumbfounded to see the Dean and a detective talking about something when they both noticed him.

The Dean

Oh.. come in, Seungmin. Don't be afraid of them, they won't hurt you.

Kim Seungmin

*stutters* Wh-What is happening here?

The Dean

Nothing too much. We know you're an innocent and hardworking boy. But... these three roommates of yours are absolute trash! They were caught circulating illegal dr*gs among the juniors so the police are now doing their thing. Don't be too anxious though, you're not in the hot waters, but if you get called for questioning, I'm sure you will answer honestly.

Kim Seungmin

*bewildered* Wh-What? I-I had no idea really...

The Dean

*nods* We know that. I'll need you to pack your stuff and get it thoroughly inspected by the detectives over there. I'm very sorry, but since this place is under investigation now... you cannot live here...

Kim Seungmin

*shocked* Then where do I go now?

The Dean

*regretful* I have no answers for that. I'm sorry.

Seungmin reluctantly stepped further into the house, into his room, as his roommates were being taken away. He slowly began packing his things. His clothes, his books, his supplies... he packed up everything, under the eyes of this one detective who was scrutinizing his every move. Seungmin felt helpless and very mortified. He did not like being in the public eye, and he felt uncomfortable when he was being stared at by a detective.

Kim Seungmin

*sigh* What the f**k is wrong with my life?!

The Detective

*serious* Okay, kid. I'm assuming you're done with your packing. Come with me at the police station for a few questions and we'll let you off after that. Does that sound good?

Kim Seungmin

*intimidated* Y-Yes sir.

After an hour or two of questioning, Seungmin was finally let off with his belongings. The police took a while to give him his phone back though. Seungmin assumed that they were going to put something in his phone to track his calls or whatever, but he couldn't care about that. His first and foremost concern was... where was he gonna live now?

He suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder making him turn around almost immediately. It was the detective.

The Detective

Here's your phone, kid.

Kim Seungmin

I assume my calls are gonna be traced now?

The Detective

You shouldn't be thinking too much about it though. Everyone says you're an innocent kid, always studying. I'd love to know that you're doing the same behind my back.

Seungmin flashed a smile to the detective before taking his phone back. The detective strode away. He immediately dialed Jisung's number.

Kim Seungmin

*sighs in exasperation* I only have one choice now... and I'm taking it. Hwang Hyunjin, beware.
