Back in the present

Jungkook POV

I'm so happy today. We are going to sing more than dance (I like dancing but I prefer singing) and above all, I'm in good terms with Jimin hyung. This makes me very happy. I'm so grateful that I've passed the audition 2 years ago, that I met him, that I became part of BTS and that I fell in love with him. Even if it hurts. Being in pain is what makes love beautiful, no ? I think like that.

This made me change my mind. I'm going to keep on loving Jimin, no matter what. And, this time, I'm going to try not to hide my feelings.

"Okay, now ! Let's go guys !" said Namjoon hyung.

"Kookie, let's go !" said Jimin hyung to me with a wink. I smiled at him and put my arm around his shoulders. I must have gone crazy because I'm kind of sure he blushed at this action. It made me smile, even if it was my imagination because it was a very cute image of him.

We danced and danced for 3 hours, on our title track and other songs of the mini-album. The whole time, I couldn't stop looking at Jimin. He was so hot and charismatic... He was sweating so much, his fringe was stuck on his forehead and his skin was glistening. Everytime we took a break, I would rush to him, like he always would, just to be by his side or play with him. I was feeling very hot so I decided to drink some water to cool myself off. The moment I was starting to feel my body temperature go down (about one empty bottle of water later), Jimin looked at me, laughing, and said

"You were very thirsty, Kookie ! You should hydrate yourself more. There's some leaking here..." He leaned forward, and wiped a drop of water which was running down my neck with his little fingers. He moved them from my collarbone to my chin and I felt like he had let a trail of fire on my skin. I was once more feeling hot and I literally felt my face turn red. Jimin noticed it and said

"Oh gosh, Kookie ! You must continue to drink water, you're so red ! Maybe you should go wash your face. I'll come with you."

"N-no ! I'm o-okay. I'll go and come b-back as quickly as possible. D-don't follow me" I said, feeling stupid for stuttering and ran to the bathroom. I washed myself, tried to slow my heartbeat down by breathing heavily, like I had run a marathon. Hoseok hyung entered and when he saw me breathing heavily, leaning down over the sink, he thought I was feeling sick. He jumped to me with a shocked face and shouted

"Kookie ! Are you alright ? Are you feeling sick ?" He touched my forehead and cried out "You're burning ! What have you done to yourself ? Come with me."

He brought me out of the bathroom to the centre of the practice room. I suddenly felt dizzy and passed out in front of everyone.

When I woke up, I was laying on the floor with Jin hyung's face looking at me, worried.

"He is regaining consciousness !" he said.

"H-hyung... What..." I began.

"You fainted ! Are you feeling well ? Do you have a headache ?"

"N-no... I'm fine"

" PABO ! YOU IDIOT !  I TOLD YOU TO HYDRATE YOURSELF BUT YOU DIDN'T LISTEN TO ME !" shouted Jimin, coming to me and helping me to sit down. His eyes were sparkling with tears and he had a frightened expression plastered on his face.

"Do you know how much I was shocked ?" he whispered to me, a tear rolling down his face.

"S-sorry hyung... I'm sorry" I said, feeling guilty and angry for making him cry.

I looked around me and saw everyone looking at us, and especially Namjoon was looking very amused with a smirk on his lips. I decided to go talk to him. I stood up and lost balance when I felt a huge headache emerge. Jimin hyung caught me and said

"You better not move Kookie-ya. You're not well enough to go anywhere right now. You have to rest." Then, he noticed that when he caught me, he placed his hands on my waist. We looked at each other and blushed furiously. I tried to stand straight by myself when he took his hands back in his pockets and went to Taehyung's side. Namjoon came to me and said

"Let's go in another room so you can sit a little". I had the bad feeling that he was going either to talk to me, or to tease me. I then realised that maybe I wasn't this discreet, especially when I blushed in front of Jimin because he had his hands on my waist. But why did he blush too ? I think I'll just forget about it for today. I had all these thoughts while Namjoon was dragging me away from the practice room. We sat down in a meeting room.

"Okay, now... I think I can tell you my idea about your issue because now, I'm 100% sure about it. It isn't an idea anymore, but a fact. Do you want to know ?" asked Namjoon hyung.

"Sure !" I said, smiling. He smiled too and began

"So... My idea was that you are in love with Jimin. You have a big crush on him but you don't know if it is mutual so, to prevent yourself from hurting, you've decided to get over him. But after you made up with him, you've got yourself to not deny your feelings anymore and let your love for him be shown. And, judging by your shocked expression, I was right and now, I'm so proud of myself".

I was dumbfounded. I had my eyes wide open and I was staring at him, utterly surprised.

"Uhm... You are right. But... How did you know ? Am I this obvious ?" I asked, worried.

"Well... I know all of you, Kookie. And now, all of us know about your feelings for Jimin because of what just happened" he replied, smiling.

I was so embarrassed !

"And... You don't have a problem with that ?"

"With the fact that you love Jimin ?" I nodded. "I don't have any problem with that ! I think you're very cute-both of you I mean. When you both blushed out there, it was so funny !" he said, laughing.

I sighed from the relief I just got from his answer. Then, I said

"Hyung." He looked at me. "Do you think I should confess to him ?" He was thinking and when he seemed to have the answer, he was smiling.

"I think that you must confess. And, honestly, I don't understand why you haven't done it already."

"What do you mean ?"

"I told you Jungkookie. You have to resolve things yourself. But now, I won't help you anymore. I think I gave you enough advices and clues so that you can decide by yourself what you're going to do." He winked at me and went back to the practice room. I was sitting there, in deep thoughts. He gave me a clue that I couldn't get, I was sure of it. A very important one about my relationship-if we can call it like that-with Jimin hyung. Then, it hit me. Why he blushed when he had his hands on my waist, why he was so scared when I fainted, why he followed me in the kitchen that night, why he wanted to know about my issue. And especially why he was always staring at me, touching me, complimenting me all those years. I was so blind and stupid. I thought he could never love me back, thus, I didn't saw that he was showering me with love all this time. Jimin liked me, I was almost sure of it. I stood up, ignoring my headache and went to find Namjoon hyung. He was talking with Jin hyung. I caught his arm to prevent myself from falling and with a smile, I said

"I got it now, hyung. I got it. Thank you". He smiled at me and I hugged him *do you think it could really happen ? I just found this so cute, Jungkook seeing Namjoon like a real father^^*

I whispered to him

"I'll do it properly, in time. I have to show him first"

"I understand Kook-ah" he replied.

In the meantime, Jin was looking at us, not knowing what we were talking about. But when he seemend to understand, he smiled too.

"It is about Jimin and you, right ?"

"Yes, but don't tell anyone please"

"You can count on us Kookie" he replied, winking and we all started to laugh.

Author POV

When they stopped laughing, Jimin showed up. The two hyung decided to let the two young men alone. After 5 seconds of awkwardness, Jimin began

"A-are you alright Jungkookie ?"

He seemed worried and even if Jungkook wasn't really well, he said

"Of course hyung. I can stand by myself"

Jungkook's smile was so dazzling that Jimin passed over the fact that he didn't trust his words. He knew Jungkook so well that he could tell if he was lying or not just by looking at him. And he knew that what he just said was a lie, but he wouldn't say it. He just couldn't when Jungkook was smiling at him like that.

"But.. Hyung." Jimin heard Jungkook say.

"Kookie ?"

"I... I'm going to tell you about my issue..."

Both guys' heartbeat picked up, they stared in each other's eyes, wanting to communicate just with their gazes.

This is it. Was thinking Jungkook. This is the timing I was looking for.

Really ? But... why all of a sudden ? Jimin thought.

"G-go ahead." said Jimin, his voice shaking.

"Ye-yes... Actually, I love someone and I don't know how to confess.M-my feelings... I don't know how to deal with them. I'm... almost sure that this person likes me but... I'm afraid I might be too honest and straight-forward..."

Jungkook's heart was racing by this point and his face (in fact his whole body) was on fire. Before he could go on, Jimin asked

"Is she cute ?"

His voice was so cold and full of hidden sadness. Jimin was heartbroken at this moment and terribly sad. This question was the only thing that could come out of his mouth. Maybe it was because he knew that Jungkook liked cute girls, so he wanted to know if she was cute enough to have the right to be loved by his Kookie.

"She ?" Jungkook was clearly surprised by his hyung's question. He was just about to say that the person he was in love with was him but the latter cut him to ask this question. Feeling all the courage he built up go away, he decided to go on with the fact that his hyung thought that he had a crush on a girl.

"Er... Yes, she is very cute" You are so cute you can't imagine. "She is always caring for me" And I'm going to do the same and shower you with all my love. "She is beautiful and I like her very much" You are the most perfect person I've ever seen in my life and I love you hyung.

Jimin's mind went blank hearing these touching, full of emotions words coming out from the maknae. The one he loved and cared for, liked someone else. All he could say was that he was very happy for him. He heard himself say "I'm happy for you Jungkook" before running out of the practice room.

The mis-use of his name ans the shaky voice of his hyung didn't go unnoticed by the younger who stood there, watching his hyung flying out of the room.

THE JIMIN THAT KNEW JUNGKOOK BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE COULDN'T SEE THAT HE TOLD ONE OF THE BIGGEST LIES IN HIS LIFE JUST BECAUSE HE COULDN'T HANDLE LOOKING IN HIS EYES...
