I was eager to run out of the classroom, but Alice grabbed my hand and stopped me.
“Wait! Where are you going in such a rush?”
I told her I had a stomachache and was going to the restroom. She said she was going to visit Andrew in his class (Section B). I agreed and quickly escaped.
Andrew is another of my best friends. He’s my real buddy from childhood, and the three of us—Alice, Andrew, and I—have always been very close. Andrew is a funny guy who always brings happiness to those around him. His sense of humor and his comebacks make everyone laugh, and people love being around him. He is always like a brother to me. He cares for us well even he fights with us. He’s always like this since from our childhood.
I went on my search for the guy in every class, knowing I only had 10 minutes during the break. I checked all the classes in our block (Block A), but there was no sign of him anywhere.
When the bell rang, I returned to my class. Alice came two minutes later.
I was absent-minded throughout the entire class. My thoughts were still preoccupied with him. I kept searching for him every day, in every class, but a week passed, and I still couldn’t find him. It was then that I realized I missed him deeply.
Yes… I had fallen in love with him at first sight.
A week later, Alice and I were playing bingo during Mr. Nicholson’s class. He was teaching, and we were playing the game secretly under the desk. We often played bingo during boring class hours.
But my mind was entirely on him, even while playing. I was physically present, but mentally absent.
During the lunch break, Alice, Andrew, and I went to the canteen to have lunch. We sat at a table with our food.
“Hey, bro! Yesterday my dad bought me a new video game!” Andrew said.
“Really? What version?” I asked excitedly.
“Version 10!”
“Great!”
“Yes! Let’s play together at my house today!”
“Okay!”
Andrew usually calls me “Bro.” He’s pretty addicted to computers and video games. Last year, the three of us were in the same class. This year, we chose the same major, but fate separated us. Well, actually, it wasn’t fate—it was our principal! Our class had caused too much trouble the previous year, so to manage us better, the principal divided the class into two sections. Luckily, Alice and I were placed in Section A, but unfortunately, Andrew ended up in Section B. Now, during every break, we go to Section B.
Section B is a lively and joyful class. There’s always something going on during breaks, like debates, arm wrestling matches, teacher imitations, games, and penalties. Alice and I go there to see Andrew and join in on the fun. Even though we’re in Section A, we’re basically part of Section B’s activities. It feels like we belong there too.
