What hides behind the clouds

In the middle of the night a noise woke me up. Afraid, I picked up a pan from the kitchen and  I went to the balcony, a figure was sitting down  but it was not until the moon iluminated his face that I recognised Touya. His face looked pale,  eyes lids were purple,  mouth was bleeding blood and the skin started to peel off. I I called his name and as soon as he saw me he yell me to leave. This was the first time he raised his voice like this.

— I won't leave, tell me what is going on.

—This is not of your concern.

—It is. And if you don’t tell I will call Witterby.

I kept my eyes fixed on his so he catched I wasn’t joking.

—He already knows.

— Is their a cure?

— No. I will die soon. Arya—he doubts to continue—.  I am not like the other humans, I was created in a lab. I was a experiment at Cosmo, Witterby saved me when he used to work for them.

—That cant be true.

—It is. Cosmo started an illegal investigation to create humans without the need of women by an artificial DNA. They believe women are the weaker so they should not be entitle to procreate. Witterby is  Lexus brother, the president of Cosmo.

Touya adds that when  was still a baby, Witterby raised him as a father but warn  him that he would die earlier as his body was made of artificial elements that could not compete with the strength of a human one.

After Witterby kidnapped him from the lab he told his brother that his experiment would not last as AH( artificial humans) would not survive. But his brother insisted on it and discover that the Celt Tribes Dna may have the awnser. Contrary to Cosmo, Starlight wants to use my Dna to prevent normal blood groups to dissapear.

The story that Touya has told me may look Starlight as the good buddies but they are not, even if their investigation is for good reasons there methods are unethical as they have powerful people involved in the country.

—You can’ t tell witterby I told you this.

—I wasn’t planning to. Touya, the reason why you didn’t wanted to fall in love was because you will die shortly?

—Yes. I don’t wanna leave this world knowing I broke someone heart but also I don’t want that person to get involved in the things my dad and I are doing.

—You cant do that without destroying us. We had bribe people in the government, if they fall so do we.

The idea of seen Touya behind the bars compressed my heart. If there was a way to prove what they did was wrong but for a good cause maybe they will spare them.

—We will find a way. I promised you.

—No, I have being doing my own research without telling my father. I think I can make your blood last so you can be free to go.

—Even if that so, I won't leave and this is not because you had treaten my family.

—They why?

I wish I could tell him that it was cause I love him but lied saying that he had been the best friend I have ever had and if his life was short I wanted to spend his last days by my side.

As soon we got inside of the apartment Touya surprised me by saying if I could sleep with him as he didn’t wanted to sleep alone tonight. I replied with a smile in my face that I like feeling useful to him. But he maintain his distance from me  and when I closed my eyes suddently he whispered me that he had sleeped with other women before but that  they both have  used each other to cope their loneliness. However that he had never felt this confort with anyone else. The thought that Touya may have sex with some else made me jealous and I couldn’t help to ask even I already know.

—Yes. After I realised I wasn’t born like everyone else, I told myself that I needed to do something to feel human even if it was all a lie.

—I get it, It make you forget for a while what you were struggling just like me with the pills. But I don’t think we should try to escape from the past because I don’t think nothing can make it gone.

Suddenly, I received a call from Witterby and he told me that tomorrow the judge wants to here my statement about choosing him as my legal guardian and my parent will be there too.However as Cosmo is after Arya, the tribunal have accepted I should present my self through a videoconference and I will be represented by a lawyer of Starlight. Also, as I am still in danger the tribunal had allow Starlight to transport us to a save residence withing 24 hours and that Witterby orders us to pack now. Then he ask me to pass the phone to Touya and I heard him say just a simple Ok.

—We are going to an ski center. A friend of Witterby own a chalet in the mountains, I got some  winter clothes in my wardrobe but may be a bit big for you. I will ask Witterby to send you one tomorrow.

I have never gotten to the mountain and was so excited.

Touya  put his tshirt and went to pick up Cream's cage and told me that I pick the oufit meanwhile he prepare everything.

I looked myself in the mirror wearing a long black anorak and some green trousers that made me look like  a tomboy but I liked it has some perfume on it and I tried to retain It in my memory.

When I met Touya at the kitchen were he was packing some food in a hand bag my eyes shined seen him so sexy with those clothes that I didn’t reply when he called my name after a few seconds and I said I got distracted with Cream drinking water.

—You are a horrible lier, don’t you think I didn’t notice you find me sexy?

—Guilty as charged—I laugh—. I am not used to see you in real clothes, I mean, at home you just wear sweatpants. Is late, I will see you in the car.

Touya was taking so long that I decided to go to the lobby, I remember seen they give for free to the residents toothpaste and toothbrushes.

I have lost my stuff twice and I need some money so I called from the lobby to my mom and avoid all the question about where was I and asked her to send me some cash at leave it at our old house. Now that my dad is living with her new partner nobody is living there.

I tell the man in the lobby to tell Touya I would be back soon and I walked for 45 minutes to my place. I would have taken a taxi if I had money. But the worst problem would be that Touya will get really mad for just leaving but I need some basic things if I am going in a trip.

My old house was made of stone and it was pretty simple as my parents used to like things that were not luxurious. Dad used to said material things turn people greedy and that real humans has nothing to show up. However, after he re built his own life he started changing. My mom got told but  a friend of my mom told her  that he saw him driving a new red Maserati with a woman looked like a 17  years older. I tried not to throw up by the fact my dad has turned into some sort of sugar daddy that likes to impress girls to make them get into a relationship with him.

While I went up the stairs to my room I thought That I would have to lie to the judge as I want my mom as my legal guardian.

At first I wanted to help Starlight but now I just wish I could convince him to quit and let Witterby  dealt all alone with his brother  but I know that he would never abandon his father.

Abruptly, the light turn off and a breeze came through the door.

—Arya

My body was striked by a thousand needles when I saw  Mark standing behind me. His dark browned hair and blue eyes looked a bit different than when were dating. His  bangs has becomed longer and almost reached his hips.

—What are you doing here?

—I have been following you all this days, waiting the perfect moment to talk with you. Arya, I am sorry, I give up on you too easily and I didn’t realised how much I loved you when I saw you in the arms of that man when you fell from the level crossing. Please give me a second chance.

—No. Now please leave.

— All you need is to remember.

Mark kissed me and hold me close but I pulled him away and slapped him.

— I won't give up. I know your feelings for me still are there.

—You are wrong, there is someone else.

—Who is it? As your ex I deserved to know.

—Touya.

—That Bodyguard? You cant be serious, what he has that I don’t.

—Everything. I need to go.

I started packing when suddenly Mark throws me over the bed and hold my hands. His eyes were full of lust.

— I shouldn’t say this but now I don’t care since you have rejected me. You were part of   a bet  but that was before we had sex.

—What? You were my friend. How could you?

—One of the guys of the swimming team saw me taking Heroine under the bleachers. We said would tell the coach If I don’t conquer you. I agree but I said I wouldn’t have sex with you but he insisted. I am not good at school, the swimming scholarship was my only way to get to College.

He made me so angry I hit him with my head and I run but then  I heard a windows broke and I see Touya.

—Arya, are you Ok?

—Great, your saviour came to save you—smirks Mark—. But a little late.

Touya turned to me and ask me what happened . I said he restrained me in bed. Those words were enough to make him grab his neck,

— I just don’t break you because I  don’t wanna make MRS Cleirstein to bare more shit in her memories. Get Out Now if you don’t want me to call police for sexual assault.

Marks runs out.

—And you— Touya’s  eyes were burning—. Since you don’t learn the lesson you will use this.

Touya handcuffed me.

While we walk down the stairs he said that he lied Witterby  about my whereabouts and that the expected us for dinner.

Touya drove over the speed limit without saying a word and a wrinkle has marked in his forhead as he was still mad with you.

I told him I swear not do anything like that again but he replied I will keep handcuffed until I could regain his trust. Suddenly, his voice became softer and said all he wants to do is to protect me and I  do it harder.

I knew he would never loved me so I lied and said that I have changed my mind. I want him to finish his research as soon as so I could be free and if I needed protection I will ask the police to assigned someone for me.

—Are you sure that is what you want?

—Yes.

—Ok. But I will have to discuss it with Witterby but the same rules will apply, are you clear?

—Yeah,

Touya said he will work to finish his research in two weeks after that, he will tell Witterby to quit being my legal guardian but my dad would have to support the statement in front of the judge.
