Chapter 1: A New Beginning

I opened my eyes and felt a surge of pain in my chest. I looked around and saw that I was lying on a hospital bed, hooked to various machines and wires. The room was dimly lit and silent, except for the occasional beep of the monitor.

I tried to remember what had happened to me. I was a transverser, someone who had traveled from another universe to this one. But not just any universe, a future one where technology was far more advanced than here. I had brought with me some of the best items from that world, such as a spatial ring, a quantum computer, and a nanosuit.

But why did I come here? Because this was my original world, the one where I was born and raised. The one where I had a miserable life, a cheating wife, and a dead-end job. The one where I was about to die.

I had learned from the future world that this world was going to face a cataclysmic event soon. A dimensional rift would open and unleash hordes of monsters on the planet. The world would change drastically, and humans would have to fight for their survival. Some humans would awaken superpowers, such as elemental manipulation, telepathy, or spatial control. They would be called hunters, and they would rank from level 1 to level 10, depending on their strength and potential.

I had also learned that my wife, who came from a prestigious family of hunters, was one of them. She had awakened a rare power of time manipulation, and she was a level 10 hunter. She had married me because of an agreement between our grandfathers, who were best friends before the monster invasion. But she never loved me or respected me. She only used me as a tool to gain more influence and wealth. She had countless affairs behind my back, and she didn't even care when I was dying.

I had been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and the doctors had given me only a few months to live. I had no hope or purpose in life, until one day, I stumbled upon a strange device in an abandoned warehouse. It was a transverser device, capable of transporting me to another universe. I didn't hesitate to activate it, hoping to find a better world than this one.

But fate had other plans for me. Instead of taking me to a parallel universe, the device took me to the future of this world. A world where humans had fought against the monsters for decades, and had developed amazing technology and civilization. A world where I could start over, and live a better life.

I spent several years in that world, learning everything I could about it. I acquired knowledge, skills, and items that were beyond the imagination of this world. I also made some friends and enemies along the way. But most importantly, I found happiness.

But happiness is fleeting, especially for someone like me. One day, while I was exploring an ancient ruin with some of my friends, we encountered a powerful monster that we couldn't handle. It was a level 10 monster, equivalent to a level 10 hunter. It had the appearance of a giant dragon, with scales that could deflect any attack and claws that could tear through anything.

We tried to escape, but it was too fast and furious. It killed most of my friends in front of my eyes, and then it turned its attention to me. It lunged at me with its jaws open, ready to devour me.

I thought it was the end for me. But then something unexpected happened.

The transverser device that I had kept in my spatial ring suddenly activated by itself. It emitted a bright light that enveloped me and the monster. The next thing I knew, we were both transported back to this world.

But not to the present time.

To the past.

To the time before the monster invasion.

To the time when I was still alive.

To the time when I still had a chance to change everything.
