Chapter One: Forty-five minutes late

Haneul opened his eyes to the sound of busy traffic outside the room window. Dust particles danced visibly under the ray of sunlight that slipped in through the crack of the curtain and landed on his face. Hissing at the harsh and painful contact he moved away from the sunny side and turned around to continue off from where he left off, determined to sleep a little more. However, that determination dwindled at the sound of a voice.

"Sorry for the interruption Sky, but it is imperative I inform you that it is forty-five minutes past your meet up time." Announced the artificial intelligence from the ceiling speakers installed in every part of the house.

Haneul hummed shuffling around under his sheets to get a more comfortable position. " Thank you Margaux for the infor–" Haneul paused mid-sentence the minute Margaux's words fully processed in his brain. His eyes instantly shot open in shock as he jolted up right on the bunk bed." Shit!" His exclamation was so loud that his twin sister Hae who slept underneath him sprung up from the bed only to be sent back to the matress with a harsh collision with the top bunk to her forehead.

"Argh, Haneul, what's wrong with you" Hae moaned rubbing the aching red spot on her forehead." Why the hell did you do that?"

"Shit! It's seven forty five and we were supposed to meet up with the gang by seven sharp." Haneul screamed making a grab for his phone to reconfirm if it really was seven forty five or if this whole incident was just a morning fraction of his imagination.

"Are you serious?" Hae screamed too beating Haneul to it and checking the time herself. Her widened a fraction as she gaped at the screen." Ahh, it's seven fifty now!"

"Abort, abort!" Haneul exclaimed literally throwing himself off the top bunk only to come crashing down on Hae who also was in the process of stumbling out of bed. The land to the ground let out a few cracking and popping bone sounds.

"Aiee, Hanuel Get Off Me!" Hae growled furiously wriggling under her brothers weight and repeatedly blowing away her untamed dense mane of snow white hair that some how managed to loosen from it's braid during some point at night.

"Sorry, sorry." Hanuel jumped off her and started after the bathroom with his sister just at his tail. The bathroom was a white and gold tiles filled room with two separate showers having glasses at each side, a large marble tub with two spaces for two people and a huge sink with a 3 ft mirror above.

...This is how I imagine the bathroom tub to be...

"Margaux, turn on shower to broad spectrum mist." Hae ordered the artificial intelligence while both her and her twin brother struggled to get out of their matching blue pajamas. It was no surprise for them or anyone close to them, ever since they were little they bathed together and still do in their adult stage.

"Broad spectrum mist activated," announced Margaux." now a proper good morning to you two Sky and Ocean, you both are quite late for classes."

" Indeed, ugh, why didn't you at least wake us up Margaux.?" Hae complained, voice muffled by the spraying hot water falling on her face as she lathered her body with her coconut body wash. Steam rose in the showers till the inside of the glasses were barely visible.

"I tried." She answered easily." You both had only three hours of sleep, my attempt was futile, you didn't even have the time to set your alarm clock yesterday, if only it was electrical I would have done that for you."

" Ah, that's true! We completely forgot about that." Hanuel chuckled at their stupidity scrubbing his lemon shampoo off his hair." Margaux, please put it in our schedules to be always reminded of setting the alarm clock before bed."

" Yes." She said.

" Argh, I can't believe we forgot. That alarm clock really had helped us a lot." Hae groaned finally rinsing her entire body.

" Good thing you bought it then." Margaux said with much more humor than the twins thought that she could have been programmed with.

The twins jumped out of the shower and quickly dried off before applying their sunshade body lotion, their skin was way too pale and staying for some time in the sun gave then burn marks. They hastily pulled on a matching pair of designers white t-shirts and chokers. They grabbed their bike outfit since the group had decided to wear it today and go for a bike race later on after classes. Haneul's was a white leather jacket and pants, Hae's was a blue leather jacket and pants.

The dashed out of the room and down the stairs for some breakfast. There wasn't anytime to cook anything, so it was either breakfast bars or a bowl of sugar bomb cereals that would have to do. But surprisingly, Margaux had cooked a hearty breakfast of strawberry waffles and set them out on the kitchen island with freshly squeezed lemon juice beside it.

"Margaux, did you do all this?" Haneul asked as he paused in his track at the sight of the five star breakfast.

" Awe, darling you didn't have to you know." Hae squealed in delight, happy that she didn't at least have to eat cereal. She skipped over to the kitchen island and took a seat at her favorite and personal spot, wriggling with excitement. Haneul smiled warmly at her childish behavior, his sister never ceases to amaze him yet again.

"It was a pleasure, would you like some chocolate syrup on your waffles?" Margaux asked a spaghetti shaped robotic hand with the ability to extend to far places in the house emerged from an opening on the island and moved on to grab the bottle of syrup from the fridge.

"Sure why not, Hanuel?" Hae asked looking at her brother as he slowly sat down before his plate of breakfast, looking at it like he didn't want to eat any. And he didn't. He waved off her question disagreeing easily while Margaux went on to splurt a healthy amount of syrup on Hae's plate. However, the breakfast didn't last more than a minute as both the twins just ate eight small bite of the waffles, drank their lemon juice all the way and pushed their chairs away to get up. A normal behavior between the two. They hadn't always had a lose appetite but they did right from when they were five leading to their very slenfee figure and curves that everyone dreamed to have. In fact, the whole Steele family weren't big eaters. The father was a busy scientist, always breaking world records and bit too preoccupied to make it early on time a family dinner. The mother was also preoccupied with her engineering work but would squeeze in some time to spend with her kids. But there was hardly ever time to even share breakfast with them. The twins spent their life with their caretaker and the maids and gardeners and cooks that made a friend of both of them.

They were loved by all, not only did their looks resemblance those of an angel but their radiance brought about a sense of joy, seeing them smile made everyone smile. They were born with a positive aura around them, soft and gentle and warm. They were famous for their well-behaved personality, at school, on the streets, on social media that they had to move rather often and because of their father's prestigious job.

"Thanks for the breakfast Margaux." Haneul said trashing the reminants of the food in the trash bin before moving on to wash his plate, with Hae following suit. Despite their aristocratic background, they never quite enjoyed being served, they'd help the cooks and maids a lot that it was only natural for them to do some jobs themselves.

They went in to grab their backpacks from their workroom and their keys from the kitchen bowl before dashing into the garage were their driving gadgets rested. The garage lit up with a sky-blue luminosity lighting up the dark room. Moving towards the powerbikes, as per their outfit, they mounted their powerbikes. Haneul had the blue, while Hae had the white with their name both engraved in black at the side of their bikes and helmet. Being twins they could be as similar as they could be different.

"Margaux, unlock the garage door for us please." Hae ordered out as both of them pulled on their helmets and reeved their engines to life, that starting gutteral sound of the engine never ceases to relax Hanuel. They had been riding the same powerbikes since highschool and never dared to change it once. It was a momentum of their days as teenagers.

"Garage door unlocked and opening." Friday announced just as the red beeper besides the garage door turned blue with a beep and began rising." Have a good day you two."

"Thanks Margaux, bye now." Haneul yelled over the engine, reeving a bit more before driving out of the garage with Hae behind him.
