Chapter Five: You have nowhere to go

3 months later

Wednesday, June 24th,20XX

“1…..

2….

3…"

Ainara stood up and gasped. She started coughing violently trying to remember how to breathe again. “Agh!” She screamed at the top of her lungs, in pain.

“Take a deep breath in. In and out. Listen to me you need to breathe.” She heard a distant voice.

“Cough Cough Cough huff huff Cough”

“I  c-can’t cough cough” Her lungs hurt. It felt as if they were being squeezed together stopping her from breathing. She felt them place something inside her. She felt a tube going down her throat and she could feel the immense pain.

Fear…

For once in her life she was afraid. It hurt so much. She had encountered gunshots and knife cuts, but this was a whole new experience for her, not to mention she expected to be in hell if this is hell….

After a while, her heart rate went back to normal and she saw everything blurry and there was a heavyweight in her eyelids, stopping her from opening them.

”She’s fine now. She will wake up in a few hours. Hopefully she doesn’t get another attack, it’s already the fifth this month.”She heard someone say but it was hard to comprehend what the person said next. Soon enough everything turned black again.

5 hours later,

Beep….Beep...Beep

The machine continued beeping at a normal rate but she suddenly the rate accelerated.

Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep

The machine next to her beeped and there was a read straight line indicating that her heart had stopped.

“Not again! Get everyone in here RIGHT NOW!” Someone shouted. The person came near her to try and calm her down.

Ainara opened her eyes and gasped for air. The first thing she did was take the needle in her wrist off. She disconnected herself from the monitors as she panicked. Everything was new to her and her whole body was weak.

She did her best to use all her senses just in case there is danger around her.

Ainara blinked but the light of the room made it hard for her to concentrate on her surroundings. When she felt someone touch her, her instincts kicked in and she immediately got up.

She grabbed the man’s neck and squeezed it with full strength. Her surprise and fear impulsed her to squeeze harder to the point that the man’s face turned purple. He tried pulled her hand away but she was too strong for him. Even after just waking up her instincts caused her to use all her strength.

“What’s going on here?”A young man entered the room. He was dressed like a doctor so Ainara assumed he was so.”Tell me where I am or your friend is dead.” She threatened him. Her voice was craked up and her lips were dry/ She could barely remain standing but she didn't want to appear weak in an unknown environment.

The doctor gave her a calm and composed nod. She was surprised and his calmness made her want to go over there and choke him next, just to see if he would still act calm and composed.”You’re at my private hospital now let the man, go.”An old man entered the room and slammed his cane on the ground in disapproval.

Ainara frowned but loosened her grip on the doctor choking in her hands. Well at least enough for him to breathe...hardly but still at least he was breathing.”Let him go!” The old man shouted. Ainara glared at the old man but decided to let go of the man in her hands.

The other doctor came forward to hold her but on instinct, she attacked him as well. To her surprise, the doctor fought back and held her hands against the wall. She narrowed her eyes and slammed him against the wall in anger.

The man fought back again and it main her extremely annoyed. Finally, she was able to get a hold of him and punched him across the face. Just when she thought he would be a challenge for her he was defeated. "Pathetic." She mumbled.

“Well, that pathetic young lad helped save your damn life. I suggest you calm down.”The old man glared at her and she glared back.”Not many people have the guts to- no sorry nobody has ever had the guts to scold me, tell me, old man, just who are you.”She asked curiously.

The doctor from before chuckled and got up. He wiped the blood from his lip and stood up straight. Ainara paid him to mind and concentrated on the old man.

Her voice was weak and her throat was dry but that didn’t make her any less intimidating.

“Grab her.”The old man ordered a few men in black to entered the room. She laughed.”Please even if I am not at my full strength they are still nothing but little ants in my eyes.” She commented nonchalantly.

One of the men arrogantly came over and she grabbed his arm flipping him over, She did the same to all of them and they all ended in the ground. The old man chuckled and rubbed his chin with interest.”It seems I made the right choice to save you.” He mumbled.

“You saved me?”She questioned in shock. He nodded.”Why?” She asked.

“Ainara Soles...because I think you still have some hope. I will adopt you and from now on your new name is Angle Clair Yves.The young Miss of the Yves the royal blood descendants and loyal allies of the Davis royal family.”He didn’t ask her nor stated he declared her future right there and there.

“No thank you.”She declined.”There is no need. I didn’t want to be saved anyway.” She answered and looked around the room. She spotted a glass of water in a table and she gulped it down.

“I’m leaving.” She announced.

“To commit suicide again?” The old man scoffed.

She laughed.”Sure it’s better than involving myself with royal bloods.” She responded.

“Aren't you one yourself though?” He mocked and she froze. ”The heir to the Soles Royal Blood family. And it’s the last descendant.” He spoke calmly.

“There is no Soles family anymore.” She responded and clenched her fists.

“There is actually. You are the Soles and you have their blood running through your veins. Your mom would be devastated to hear you rejecting your birthright.” He commented and walked closer to her.  Ainara narrowed her eyes at him warningly.

“What a stupid girl. You went on killing madness and what did you accomplish?”He asked.

“Fine. What’s the catch?”She asked, still not planning to do as he says.”Nothing. You can decide on how to repay me later.”He shrugged. “Or you can fulfill one of my requests when the time comes.”

A few minutes later…

Ainara sat on the bed as the young doctor she attacked earlier did a check up on her.”Here drink this.”She took the drink and felt her throat soothe.”He is Lee Elliot or Doctor Elliot, he will from now on be your private doctor.”The old man informed her.

She examined him and chuckled.”Really? He looks more like a toyboy I would keep.” She replied with a sly smile. "And he can fight to it's a bonus." She added. Elliot glanced at her and shook his head. He was not affected by what she said and continued his work.

Ainara noticed the remaining blood on his lip and she wiped it away with a teasing smile.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover, Clair.''The old man told her. Ainara laughed.”I hope to see much more from you Doctor Elliot” She teased again. She groaned when he abruptly placed a needle on her arm and started withdrawing blood. “That’s not nice.” She mumbled.

“So do I, Miss Yves.”He responded looking up at her.”Are you sure he is not some Idol or movie star?”She asked the old man who shook his head in response.”I can assure you I am not Miss Yves.” Elliot responded slightly annoyed.

 She just couldn’t help but humor herself. She didn’t want to think about the fact that she almost died so she decided to hide by keeping up an act.

Ainara frowned she didn’t like the way they already started addressing her. She will only get medical attention and leave again anyway. Although she isn’t sure on what to do next she surely doesn’t want to meddle with the royals anymore.”Ainara is fine.” She told them.

“No from now on you need to address yourself as Angle Clair Yves.”The old man told her.

“Such a long name.” She complained quietly.

“Stay here and take some rest we will talk about everything tomorrow.”The old man said. Ainara now Clair nodded.”Alright, how long has it been by the way?” She asked.

“3 months…” He responded. “ You don’t have anywhere to go and don’t think about escaping. I owe your mother a favor, So please don’t make my job harder.” He added and left.

She pursed her lips. She took a deep breath and waited for everyone to leave the room. Once she was all alone she finally broke down in tears.
