Ep.6: Elite Devision

20:43 Black Water City industrial area.

Iris: Hello Kai.

Kai: Iris-Sama. It's good to see you again.

Iris: Likewise Kai. Are you ready for the assignment?

Kai: Yes miss Iris. What is my objective?

Iris: Aki Has been kidnapped by some rogue militia. He's being held at an old boat house. I need you to bring him back in one piece.

Kai: Understood Iris-Sama.

Iris: One more thing. Leave no man standing.

Kai: Understood.

As Kai headed towards the old boat house where Aki was being held, he could feel his senses heightened and his reflexes sharpened. He knew that this mission would be dangerous, and that the rogue militia would not give up Aki without a fight.

As he approached the boat house, Kai surveyed the area, noting the number of armed men guarding the entrance. With a swift and silent motion, he took out the first guard, using his blades to incapacitate him. And with that, he swiftly and systematically eliminated the rest of the guards, taking great care to avoid detection.

When he finally reached Aki, he saw that he was badly beaten and bruised, but alive. Without a word, Kai picked him up and carried him out of the boat house, fighting off any remaining resistance.

As they made their way back to safety, Kai knew that he had accomplished his objective. But he also knew that he had taken lives, and that he had done so at the behest of Iris. And as he contemplated the moral implications of his actions, he couldn't help but wonder what kind of hero he truly was.

Iris: Well done Kai. Your officially the elite devision's first recruit. Now get some rest.

Kai: (nodding) Thank you, Iris-Sama. I will rest. And thank you for the opportunity.

As Kai headed off to rest, Iris couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. She had assembled a truly formidable team, composed of the best and brightest heroes she could find. And with her team by her side, she knew that she could face anything that came her way.

But even as she celebrated this small victory, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She knew that the world was still a dangerous place, and that there were many enemies who lurked in the shadows, waiting to strike. And she knew that as long as she was a hero, she would always be a target.

And yet, despite the danger, Iris felt more alive than ever before. For she knew that she was making a difference, that she was fighting for something greater than herself. She was a hero, and she would always stand for what was right and just, no matter what the cost.

22:44 Kai's apartment.

Kai: (talking to himself) What a day. Hm some instant noodles would be great right about now.

As Kai prepared his instant noodles and settled down for the night, he couldn't help but reflect on the events of the day. He had accomplished his mission, and had proven himself to be a valuable member of Iris' team. But he also knew that he had taken lives, and that he was still wrestling with the ethical implications of his actions.

Kai: (sighing) I know that I did what I had to do, but at what cost? How many more lives will I have to take in order to protect others? And what kind of hero am I if I'm willing to take lives so easily?

In the midst of his contemplations, Kai felt a strange presence in his mind. It was Vauban, the consciousness that had become a part of Iris' mind.

Vauban: (in Kai's head) I felt your thoughts, Kai. Don't be too hard on yourself. Killing is a necessary part of being a hero. And sometimes, it's the only way to protect those you care about.

Kai: (surprised) Vauban? What are you? How are you in my head?

Vauban: (in Kai's head) Well I'm one of Iris's abilities now and I'm here to help. Don't think too much of yourself as a hero. Think of yourself as a hired gun that does what he needs to for the greater good. I'm sure this isn't your first time in the rodeo.

Kai: (firmly) I am not a hired gun, Vauban. And I am not a mindless tool to be used at your whim. I am a hero, and I will always fight for what is right, even if it means making sacrifices or taking risks.

Vauban: (chuckling) You are a naive fool, Kai. But I admire your idealism. Just remember, there are no easy answers in this world. And sometimes, even heroes must make tough decisions.

Kai: (steadfast) I know that, Vauban. And I'm prepared to face whatever challenges come my way, with honor and courage. I won't be like you. I won't use my power for evil.

With that, Kai pushed Vauban's influence out of his mind, focusing on his own sense of purpose and justice. He knew that the road ahead would not be easy, but he was determined to face it with integrity and honor.

Vauban: (In Kai's head) Just remember I serve Iris now and I don't want you to think I'm a bad guy.

Kai: (determined) I know that you serve Iris, Vauban. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to trust you blindly. You have your own agenda, and I can't ignore that. But I'll keep an open mind, as long as you don't stray from the path of righteousness.

Vauban: (smiling) Fair enough, Kai. I may have my own agenda, but that doesn't mean that I'm trying to deceive or mislead you. Just remember, we're stronger together than we are apart.

Kai: (nodding) I understand that, Vauban. And I'll work with you, as long as our goals align with the greater good.

With that, Kai finished his noodles and retired for the night, knowing that he had much to consider and plan for in the days ahead. But he also knew that he had a team and a purpose, and that he would always strive to be the best hero that he could be. For he knew that the world needed heroes now more than ever, and he was determined to be one of them.
