Trial Day 1.1

While going to the trial room......

Judge: "Where is that brat!!!"

Sophie: "Sorry sir, are you looking for... someone??" *hesitant*

*creaks* Opens the door.

Initial of the Trial

Mr. Yuri (Bailiff): "Please rise. The Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, Criminal Division, is now in session, the Honorable Judge J. Michael and the Honorable Junior Judge Ms. Sophie presiding."

After the bailiff has called the court to order, judge enters courtroom and sits at the bench.

Judge: "Everyone but the jury may be seated. Mr. Yuri, please swear in the jury."

Bailiff: "Please raise your right hand. Do you affirm that you will truly listen to this case and render a true verdict and a fair sentence as to this defendant?"

Jury: "I do."

Bailiff: " You may be seated."

Judge: "Members of the jury, your duty today will be to determine whether the defendant is guilty or not guilty based only on facts and evidence provided in this case. The prosecution has the burden of proving the guilt of the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt. This burden remains on the prosecution through the trial. The prosecution must prove that a crime was committed and that the defendant is the person who committed the crime. However, if you are not satisfied of the defendant’s guilt to that extent, then reasonable doubt exists and the defendant must be not guilty.

Mr. Yuri, what is today’s case?"

Bailiff: "Your Honor, today’s case is about a brutal murder crime. Mr. Alexander Rudy, son of a member of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Philip Rudy, who bullied his batch mates Ricky Botcher, Putnam Triphob and ended up committing the crime."

Judge: "Is the prosecution ready?"

Prosecutor: *Stand up* "Yes, your Honor." *Be seated*

Judge: "Is the defense ready?"

Defense Attorney: "Yes, Your Honor."

Opening statements

Prosecutor: "Your Honor, member of the Jury, my name is Luis Cooper. Today I intend to prove that Mr. Alexander Rudy is the one guilty of the fault. Fortunately, I got some witnesses with me to the courtroom so that your Honor can make a decision. Your Honor, please give me the permission to call them here in the stand and prove this man's guilt."

Judge: "You may call your first witness."

Prosecutor: "Thank you, Your Honor. I call to Ms. Natasha Pandey to come on the stand and tell us what happened that day."

The witness comes to the stand and the Judge asks Mr. Yuri to make swear the witness to tell the truth and of course the whole truth!!!

Ms. Natasha: "Your Honor, it was 25th December...the student committee decided to throw a late night Christmas party for students who did not leave the campus for the vacation. Alexander was too angry about something and I saw him to beat Ricky and Putnam. I was so stunned, so I did a video and the next day I told about it to my friend Sara but she was too afraid to say anything. So, we didn't tell anything to anyone but still I was so worried about the boys cause Ricky and Putnam were not seen by anyone in the campus from the next day morning. Everyone thought that they went home cause Alexander spread it."

Judge: "The Defense Attorney may cross-examine the witness."

While the Judge asks the Defense to examine the witness Sophie was so shocked about everything because it was her first day assisting a live trial.....meanwhile someone enters the room wearing a black robe.

Sophie was a little confused but she understood that he was another Judge.

Judge: "Mr.LEO DANIEL... Finally, you are here. What took you so long to come, huh? Don't you know the court rule??"

Judge Daniel: "Sorry sir... I was sleeping!!!"

Sophie: "Sleeping???? How can someone sleep in this situation!!!"

Judge: "You know nothing about him... he's a total jerk... and always comes late to the trial... Hey boy, how come you didn't do that fascinating entry you always do?"

Judge Daniel: "I came to know that today we will have another Judge, who is a pretty young lady so how could i do that... who knows if she falls for me???"

Sophie was thinking "I guess he is also a pervert!!!"

Judge: "I just don't get it... who approved you to be in my higher position??? Oh, I remember unfortunately it was my insane bestie... Now I regret it" *sigh*

Defense Attorney: "Sorry Your Honor, can I examine her with you permission??"

Judge Daniel: "Of course, Mr. Attorney... after all we are here for this."

Defense: "So Ms. Natasha, what were you doing there??"

Ms. Natasha: "I was just passing from there."

Defense: "Are you sure??? I can see here written that the place was a boys' dorm, so how did you reach there???"

Ms. Natasha: "I-"

Defense: "Oh, it's not like you were just passing by the boys dorm or there is more we're not aware of? *silence* You may go now Ms. Natasha. Your Honor, with your permission I want to call one of my witnesses who know Natasha and will clear everything."

Judge: "You may call your witness."
