Chapter 1

"Aphrodite! Wake up already. it's getting late! Don't whine later on."

an alarming voice hit the sleeping girl's eardrums, which she wished they never did. She opened her eyes reluctantly, but was forced to close them again by the sweet touch of the soothing wind that came from the open window.

"Just a little more.. 5 minutes...I promise" said the sleeping beauty as she pulled the blanket back onto her face and travel back into her world of fantasy.

Soon after a few minutes, the blanket was snatched away from the sleeping beauty which forced her to get up from her sweet heaven. She stretches her body and rubs her drowsy eyes as She catches a glance at the clock, noticing it was too early for her she gets grumpy and irritated.

"Seriously rose?! It's just 9am, why did you have the audacity to wake me up this damn early!" Said aphrodite who was vexed and furious.

Rose leans her back on the door which has a sign 'do not disturb' on it as she face palms out of annoyance.

"And Did you seriously forget that you're gonna be late for the interview?" Said rose which made aphrodite stunned and dumbfounded.

"Shit the interview is in an hour- I'm so gonna be late--" aphrodite rushes towards the bathroom hitting her head on how she forgot such an important task while rose sighs and leaves the room.

After a long day,

At 5pm.

Aphrodite finds herself sitting in a cafe, giving off a frustrated look to her best friend ivy.

"Aphy, you don't seem to be fine. What's bothering you so much? Is it a rough day?" Being a worry wart ivy gets concerned and perturbed.

Aphrodite starts ranting to her best friend.

"Oh where do I even start? Since I was fired from that so called company just because I made minor mistakes, I'm going through alot of trouble with finding a new job. The interview I had today was postponed to the weekend for an unknown cause and I'm not even sure I'll pass this one as well."

Ivy with her curiosity, questions aphrodite on why she was fired just for a few minor mistakes. Aphrodite slams her hand on the wooden table covered with a beautiful flower patterned cloth.

"They had the audacity to call me lazy at work just because I dropped in late a few dozen times! And more over they made up fake rumors that I'm a single mother with a bunch of kids and no money as well! ugh"

ivy gives off a gentle smile trying to calm her best friend. She recommends aphrodite on forgetting the past and moving onto the future, and soon after the therapy session they both get up and head towards the exit.

Aphrodite continues to walk forward looking at ivy, unconscious about where she's walking. In the blink of an eye she finds herself caught by a tall, handsome man, His right hand wrapped around her waist as they both look into each other's eyes for a few seconds.

"Learn how to walk, woman." Said the arrogant man who pushed aphrodite aside abruptly and walked away.
