Episode 2

"You should be aware of the happenings of your company, Kai", his uncle told him . With a deep sigh he said, "I know uncle, I am not mistaken this time. Martial Company is my responsibility, please trust me this once," he hanged up saying that. He looked up through his office glass pane, sun was shining bright.

Kai Terral, young CEO of the famous Martial Company. Kai was although young but determined and ambitious as well, he thought emotions made him weak and thus he never followed them.

After a long time, there were rumours about his company that it is going to be bankrupt soon and that was because he allowed a gangster's daughter for an internship against her family's will. Sophie Capone.

It was heard that no one from her family wanted her to work elsewhere than underworld but she fought them and soon enough she got his company for internship and that's why underworld would not tolerate Kai's audacity to do such act.

It didn't frighten Kai that much at first, it was just a rumour, he told himself but the more he heard of Auric Capone the more the alert he got. He came to know that Auric Capone never even let souls escape with doing something wrong to him and he has secured his daughter like treasure.

One thing which was stuck on his mind was that he heard that Sophie Capone was as deadliest as Auric Capone and if he would continue to keep her in his company, soon she would only take over it and kick him out.

Are the daughter and the father same?

He usually asked himself this because he hasn't met Sophie Capone yet and was wondering, was she that bad? He also always asked himself that what if she is that bad? Even Kai's close ones were saying so, they were not happy with Kai. He knew it was Sophie's first presentation today and he would be in the meeting and maybe he gets his answer.

He peeped outside his office, Stephanie stood there and another woman joined her, coming out of the elevator. Before he would see who it was he took out his phone and googled "Sophie Capone"

An image popped up in front of him.

SOPHIE CAPONE: Heiress of The Blue Moon gang and daughter of Auric Capone

Spotted at Stakeford Park.

He examined the whole image but his eyes were stuck on the bright hazel coloured eyes which told how innocent Sophie was. He didn't expect to see this as a result and also she doesn't look like a gangster's daughter but more like a teenage model to him.

But who knows if that was her cover?

He pushed back his hair and then heard clicking of heels walking towards him, he put his phone aside and saw the two ladies standing in front of him. It was Stephanie along with her , Sophie Capone.

Her eyes as bright as they were in the photo, dressed in perfect black and only visible skin was of her face and hands, Stephanie stood in between both of them as they examined each other.

Innocent face and pure eyes, this was all Kai was able to examine. It was the first time he saw Sophie in person.

"Mr. Terral, this is Ms. Sophie Capone, our intern. Today, she would be giving the presentation in the board meeting and Ms. Capone, this is our CEO, Mr. Kai Terral", Stephanie introduced both of them to each other.

A smirk approached at Kai's face, somehow being happy to not find Sophie as he thought she was.

"Good morning, Mr. Terral. I would try my best to not to disappoint you during today's presentation," Sophie bowed in front of him.

"Morning. Get started", were the only words from Kai's voice box, he got seated without saying anything else. Although, young Kai was well mannered but he didn't thought so that speaking to his junior colleagues like that would only make them against him but Sophie didn't feel bad about it, she had seen worse behaviours.

Sophie asked Stephanie to help her with the documents and she looked at Kai who was staring her doing her work.

"Can she start, Mr. Terrel?", Stephanie asked Kai as soon as Sophie was done arranging, Kai looked at his watch and said, "Yes, she may start now. No other members are supposed to be here. Stephanie, you may leave"

Stephanie left the two of them and Sophie gulped. It was just two of them now, Kai and her. She felt really strange that no one else was there in the meeting. Lesser she knew that all the others were too afraid to point out mistakes in Sophie's presentation.

"Start, Ms. Capone", Kai said, she had expected his voice to echo even once but it was damn clear.

"So, now if we look at the chart.......", and she started on..

Two hours went by just like that, Kai didn't even question her once. From time to time, Sophie thought if Kai was even listening to her because his eyes were laid on her but his face told that he was thinking about something else.

"That would be all, Sir", she ended the meeting with a bow.

"Well, well, Ms. Capone. I have got some prize for you",Kai said coming near to her and saw her freeze in a posture.

"I am sorry, sir. I don't think so I deserve some kind of gift", Sophie said, trying to be modest but in heart telling herself that her hardwork was worth a million diamonds!

"Follow me, Ms. Capone",Kai told her and opened the door which had been suffocating him from the past two hours.

Sophie didn't know what she should do, follow him or just keep on resisting? Following would be a lot easier but who knows what kind of boss he was, perhaps a flirty boss? who knows?

but.......

She just wanted to follow.

She picked up her files and quietly followed him. Everyone was looking at her, gossiping, saying things like ,"Our CEO has never been in a meeting for two hours, does this girl know black magic?", "Yes, yes. She knows black magic", "She is from a gangster family!", "Woah!"

She tried to ignore those voices, he heard it all but else than a quick glance he did nothing. To Sophie's surprise, everyone got back to work as soon as he glanced at them.

They entered inside a room where there were lots of books kept, he raised his hand and took out a book with a red cover.

It seemed like some fantasy love story from its cover or maybe a modern romance? Words were carved on it, "Out of Love", with no author name.

He held out the book and said, "Here, my grandmother gave it to me, keep it carefully, Ms. Capone. You deserve it"

Surely, his grandmother gave him that book but not even once he had read that novel because he never liked romance genre and assumed that book to be about romance. He was giving that book to Sophie not because her presentation was worth it but because he was too happy for his judgement to be proven wrong, she was not like that at all. Only one meeting was enough for him to judge a person correctly.

"I can't take it, Mr. Terrel", Sophie smiled gently but what her mind actually said was, are you just giving me a stupid romance novel? WHY!!?

"Take it", he put that book in her hands with a stubborn face.

He moved out of the room first and Sophie came out later with that book held tight in her hands, she kept that book in her Chanel handbag and started to get that started with other works but suddenly popped out of nowhere in front of her,

"Ms. Capone, Boss has ordred you to take leave today since you may be too tired from the presentation today", Stephanie said, her hands busy with documents.

Wasn't Mr. Terrel too good for a boss? He gifted her a book and then asked her to leave not that she wasn't tired of speaking for two hours continuously but still no boss she had ever known was that good, especially in underworld.

"Um...okay",she bowed again and started leaving the place. She got out of the building and tried to remember if there was something she was missing. No, all was well and good, just to get a cab. She took out her phone to book the cab but just then an Audi R8 came in front of her.

"Wanna ride, Ms. Capone?", a guy's voice said from inside the car.

"And who are you, mister?", she asked, looking at the unfamiliar green eyes and striking brown hair along with a formal suit.

"Your admirer", he chuckled, "but people know me as Derry Terrel, my big bro owns this company",he smirked.

"Thanks for suggesting but I prefer traveling alone", Sophie said, again taking out his phone.

"I know, Ms. Capone that all this money I have won't fascinate you but I would love to be at least friends with you",he flaunted his hair.

Kai Terrel's younger brother, Derry Terrel, as strange as his brother....

".........okay", Sophie agreed because it doesn't matter if she saves a little more money, does it?

She sat inside and decided to keep as quiet as possible.

"So, you are the famous Sophie Capone?",he asked without looking at me.

"Surely, I am Sophie Capone but about being famous, I am not sure",she said, being pretty straight to point.

He chuckled at this. One question wandered in Sophie's head, why he doesn't have a driver? Like, he is rich and all, perhaps he likes driving his rides, Sophie guessed.

"Heard a lot about you recently", Derry said.

About me.....?

Sophie wondered, how could he hear about her? It hasn't been long since she got connected with his brother's company, whom she only met today only.

Perhaps..... he knows her through her father.

Sophie didn't say anything to him and looked straight.

Awkwardness filled up the car, no one spoke anything further, just took glimpses of each other's faces. Sophie observed that there was a slight scar on Derry's forehead, she wanted to know about it but she hesitated.

She mustn't meddle with other's business. She told herself.

"Ms. Capone, won't you give me the directions from here?", Derry said, breaking the awkward silence between them.

"Yes. Please take a right from there and then left from the crossroad", Sophie replied, lowering her eyes.

"Ms. Capone, I suppose that book belongs to my brother", Derry said, looking at the red covered book, it was partially visible from the handbag.

"Certainly, Mr. Terrel gave it to me as a present,"Sophie replied, keeping the book fully inside the handbag.

"Present? For what?",He asked, controlling his laugh.

"I suppose for my great presentation", she said to him with uncertainty because she wasn't sure that Kai was even listening to him at that time.

"Indeed, indeed", Derry replied along with a chuckle.

Sophie glared at him, was it that laughable to receive a romance novel as a present from your CEO? Maybe.

She haven't ever received any gifts, not particularly from the "real" world people, people from underworld usually gave her grand casinos and weapons as gifts, which she never admired much. So, a novel as a gift was fine, maybe it was not of her favourite genre, but a gift is a gift.

All she hoped for was that Kai didn't have any ill intentions towards her.

"Another right and then straight", Sophie directed as soon as Derry took a left.

"So, there you go, Ms. Capone", Derry said, stopping his car in front of Sophie's society, which wasn't that glamorous and gorgeous.

"Thank you-",she stepped out of the car and then a sudden thought struck her mind, how did he know which society he lived in?, "- Mr. Terrel", she bowed.

"My pleasure, Miss - ", he paused, "Sophie"

Was their meeting enough for them to be on first name basis?

"Right, I will leave now", she started to leave, her question burried inside her head

"You came a long way, Sophie", Derry said to himself and rushed his car, which he couldn't value any less.

"Yes, Kai. I have left her", he said to his phone on which Kai's call was never ended, he was there all that time.

"Good, what you think? She is not like they said, right?", Kai asked, his voice muffled.

"Definitely not. She is nothing like they said", Derry replied with his head looking at Sophie's society through the rear mirror.

"-- But why did you ask for my help? You are pretty good at judging people?", Derry continued.

"I wasn't sure, maybe she puts up a mask?", Kai said, hesitating to confirm his uncertainty.

"No, no. She is rather adorable.", Derry replied, "By the way, you have her that novel to her, which grandmother gave you?", a chuckle breaker out.

"That red cover novel seemed like some romance stupidity, so I gave it away. I told her it was a present. Is it that bad?", Kai replied.

"No novels are bad and for your kind information, everything red doesn't describe love in novels, it could be blood, war, desire and so on",Derry said with a dramatic movement of fingers which wasn't visible to Kai.

"Doesn't matter", Kai said along with deep sigh.

"Anyway, I have done your work. I am heading back to Home", Derry scratched his scar.

"You are irresponsible", Kai said and hanged up without even giving Derry a chance to speak for himself.

"Heh, so are you", Derry said as soon as he speeded off his ride.
