CHAPTER – 4 JAE'S FAVOURITE DISHES

Jae POV -

 I Made her sit on the available chair ,  went to the cupboard and brought all the necessary things for disinfection of the wound ,  since its open for a longer time.

I put my hand to remove her pant, that's when I realized (oh shit what am I doing ) ( with a gasp i looked at her and found that she was already looking at me )

I removed my hand back (without second thought)

Stood up and faced the wall. (i waited for her to finish herself)

Once she was done

i went and squatted in front of her, (i felt it was not appropriate , sitting in front of a girl like that)

so ,I took a towel and put it on her lap.

I sat down and poured saline on the wound and used the gauze to wipe it off.(the mud and other dust)

I used hydrogen peroxide above it and cleaned it once again with gauze and applied a little iodine on the wound and packed the wound with gauze and wrapped it around.

That’s when the doctor entered the office

Doctor – “did you finish it as usual ?”

Ja – “yeah maam !”

Doctor – “ how did she fall ?” she asked facing me

Ja - “ I was playing kho kho with my friends.

Doctor – “ sir wont reply ?”

Ja – “as usual” (she said rolling her eyes)

Doctor – “when will you stop getting injured ?” she asked facing ja

Nabi /Jae – “shall we move” i asked her, trying to get away from the conversation.

Doctor – “janet take her carefully to the class”

Ja – “ take care maam" again i took her hand around my shoulder and made our way out from the doctors room.

I brought her from the doctors room and took her hands and made her sit in the tablet , in the front desk of my school reception.

I went to the office and made a call to aunty

Nan – “hello “

Nabi – “aunty !”

Nan –“ yeah jae ? what happened ?”

Nabi – “she fell down while playing kho kho with her friends , can you bring car and collect her ?”

Nan – “such a useless kid I have given birth to, always giving trouble for others”

I cut the call after a long conversation with aunty and since my class was not over I went to the staffs room and informed the staffs about her injury.

I was asked to write a permission letter to let her go . But since I didn’t want to waste time , I took a paper and pen and wrote letter with aunties name in the front and went to my classroom to pick her bag up and came to ground floor to meet her (with letter thats to be signed by aunty in one hand and bag in another hand).

Where I saw her playing with the fish

I didn’t make much noise and went and sat next to her

While playing without realizing, she hit the spot of her injury

“ahhhhh” she screamed

I patted her shoulder

Looking at me she said

“where were you all this while, I was bored to death .i cant even walk with this leg to chase after you”

Nabi – “don’t think of chasing behind me, aunty is coming to pick you up”

ja - "what did you tell her " "she is gonna screw me !" she said with a lot of frustration in case.

We sat in the bend for some time

After 15 min aunty came running into the school

Katheeja – “moom” she screamed

Aunty came and hit her on the head

Nan (katheeja’s mom) – “look what you have done to yourself “

Ja – “ma its just a normal injury”

Nan – “come home I will break your leg”

“han ….jae, I have made your favorite dishes today, so once school gets over  fresh up and come soon today for dinner “  I just gave her a small nod with a small smile

Ja – “look at him” she made a annoyed face and said

“he never smiles at anyone like this “

Nan – “its because I am sweet with him ! isn’t it jae ?”

I gave her back a smile and turned to ja with my expressionless face (to annoy her )

Ja – “look look” “he is always like this with me” “I hate him mom”

I put her hand on my shoulder and helped her into the car.

I waited till the car was no more seen.

I went to attend my class, but still I was distracted for some reason.

After school as usual, I went back home , refreshed myself and took my leave and went to katheeja home.

I ringed the bell

“coming “ I heard a loud voice , it was ja

As soon as she opened the door

Ja – “how many times do I have to tell you to , come on your own?”

“your making me walk extra all the time!” "now i have an injury atleast consider my request now nabi" (she told in a pleading voice)

Harish – “ that’s because your fat, janet is trying to help you loose weight” he winked at me

(its katheeja’s brother who is 2 years younger than us)

Ja – “shut your damn mouth” she rolled her eyes

Nandhini – “welcome home jae” she said in a sweet voice for which I smiled at her

“you two stop fighting” she roared

“just 5 more minutes jae, food is almost ready, wait for some time in kathee’s room”

Aunty directed me to ja’s room

I went inside and sat on the study table. Ja followed me

“did you finish your homework nabi (jae’s nickname)?” ja asked

Jae – “how is your leg ? did you take TT inj?”

Katheeja – “its paining a lot nabi what do I do ?” she told making a crying face

I went near by to take a look, since she was wearing shorts it was easy for me to check on the wound.

I slightly pressed the skin surrounding the wound

“sh” “ah” she let out noise

That’s when her brother entered

“nicely press janet, she deserves it “ he commented and jumped on to her bed

“dinner is ready kids” aunty screamed from the kitchen

For which hari replied with a “yeah mom coming”

And we went down to have food.

Nandhini – “look at janet and learn from him, he does his homework, he is topping the class, he does all his household cores and such a quiet guy”

Hari – “why don’t you take him as your son – in law then?” he turned to me asked

“would you like to marry me janet ?” (my heart stopped for a moment, i gave a shocked reaction)

For which ja nicely gave a tight slap on his head and said “who will want to marry a dirty boy like you “

Hari – “whom are you calling dirty?”

Ja – “you only, you never take bath !”

Hari – “ your only dirty, you forget to brush “

Ja – “when did I ?”

Nandhini – “If you continue your fight, then food wont be served to you for the next two days”

Within a second there was silence (of course only aunty has the secret power of controlling hari and ja)

Nandhini – “ lets have the food “

Hari, katheeja , janet – “ thanks for the food” we told in chorus

After that we started having the food and aunty kept on serving my favorite dishes on my plate

After 20 min of dinner . aunty had prepared deserts

We were having small chats in katheeja’s room

That’s when hari suggested to go for a picknick

WILL THEY GO FOR A TRIP AS HARI SUGGESTED?.. .
