Chapter two

Don't know what I am doing, I was asleep one second, and the next second Sophia appeared out of nowhere and is rushing me to Scott's to find the half-body in the woods together, something about canon. "Come on, Scott, let's go!" I said walking to my jeep. "what are we going to find again?" he asks, "Two joggers found a half body, we are going to find another half!"  I said putting on my seat belt. "A bead body?"  he asks, "No, a body of water, yes, dumbass! A dead body!"  I said, starting the jeep and driving to the woods.

As we two head into the woods to investigate, "I wanted to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow"  said Scott, I look at him, with narrowed eyes. He shuts his mouth up, and we trudge uphill, Scott falls behind, and I turn to look at him "What's wrong?" I asked "I think I need a moment," he said, taking a hit off the inhaler. I can hear officers and search dogs "Take a moment, I'll be right back!" I said, going to see if they found anything, only to get caught by the deputy, and his search dog, "hello, Deputy James, good to see you" I said, waving a little, he sighs and rolls his eyes, rude!

"Sheriff! Your girl is here!"  he yells over to Dad, umm, not good. Dad comes "Oh God, Serena, what are you doing here?" asked Dad, "I heard that the two joggers found a dead body, and you were going to search for the other half, so.."  I said, trailing half, "So you listen to all of my phone calls?" asks Dad, "no, not the boring ones," I said like it was a casual thing. "Where is your usual partner in crime?"  he asked, looking around, "Who? Ah, Scott, he is not here, he is resting for the first day back at school, says he wants to make it in the first line, this year" I said, giving additional information, Dad looks like he doesn't believe me, he shines his flashlight into the woods and calls out for Scott, who I can hear hiding behind a nearby tree, seeing nothing, dad pulls me by my hand and walks us to his car. 'I hope he is okay I think as Dad walks back.

I don't know if Scott came back safely, Dad forced me to go back home, and I have been trying to call Scott for straight 2 hours, idiot is not picking up my call, I sigh in annoyance, sitting on my bed, 109 missed calls and he is still not calling me, maybe he lost his phone in woods.

The next morning, I get up early as usual, after a morning run and all my routine, cooking breakfast and lunch, eating breakfast, I drove to school, and waited outside for Scott, after 15 minutes, he shows up on his bike, jackass Jackson mocks him again, "hey, jackass, keep walking, ain't got time for your rich nonsense, nobody cares!"  I said, walking near them, he looks at me and tsked "Whatever, bunny".

"You okay?"  I asked Scott, he nods smiling, I take a deep breath, "Then, why the hell didn't you pick up my calls or call back, I called you 109 times, in 2 hours, Scott, 109 calls in 2 hours!" I told him, more like scolding him, "Sorry, put my phone on silent mode, and was busy with this"  he lifted his shirt and shows his wound, it was covered in gauze and tape, and a small amount of blood has seeped through.

"Oh, my God! What in the heavens happened?"  I said, examining his wound. "I think I was attacked by a wolf, I heard the wolf's howling," he said, pulling back his shirt. "But we don't have wolves in California in like 60 years, I guess they came back?" I said. "I found the body yesterday," he said, changing the topic, "well, that's great to hear!".

"Hey! Anna! Good morning! Let's go, the class will start soon" Lydia comes behind me and starts dragging me with her "Let's meet in English class" I tell him while walking backward.

In English class, the teacher writes "Kafka's Metamorphosis" on the board, he then starts explaining that police have a suspect in the death of the girl in the woods. Then, a girl comes in, the teacher. Asks her to introduce herself, and I toned out because I couldn't care less about her, I turn behind and look as she then sits behind Scott, who hands her a pen, their eyes meet briefly, and she thanked him, what the hell? Scott!.

After class, "Why did you give her the pen?" I ask him, "Because she forgot hers?" he asks me back, "Then let her learn her lesson, and next time she won't forget her pen," I snapped, Scott, looks at me shocked, "You on your period?"  he asks me, "what does this have to do with my period?" I ask him, "you get cranky, scary, and moody during your period," he said, looking behind me, who I know is the new girl, I look at her with narrowed eyes, and she looks taken back by my expression, 'stay away from him, you suspicious cunt! ' written on my expression, she turns away.

Soon, Lydia comes out of her class and rushes to me, "Let's meet the new girl, I like her jacket, let's go!"  she says as she drags me, Again. "Hi, I like your jacket, where did you get it?"  Lydia asks, "Oh, my mom brought this from the boutique back in San Francisco," the new girl said. "Great taste! And from now, you are our new best friend!" exclaims Lydia, no! Nah-uh! I fake cough, and both look at me "Your Best Friend, not ours, I am just fine with you, jackass, and Danny as my friends, and stay away from my brother, or I will have your head on tray" I warn her, and walk away to the lacrosse field. Coach wants me on the team, but I don't want to play, I was on the team but I quit, I didn't feel like it.

I was sitting on a bench with my project when Lydia comes with the new girl, Allison sitting beside me, I look at her accusingly, and Lydia rolls her eyes. I again see Allison eyeing Scott, *****, stop making eyes at my brother! I am behaving like someone with a brother complex! I facepalm myself in my mind. Scott is playing goalie, Allison asks Lydia about Scott and Lydia says she doesn't know him.

I notice Scott covering his ears in obvious pain, one of the players launches the ball toward him, striking Scott squarely in his helmet, and he gets knocked onto his back and lies there stunned, I stand up "Scott!" I run to him, checking for injuries, finding no injuries, I sigh in relief, he is just shocked.

"Scott, get up!"  I help him stand, I turn toward the player, Paul, looking at him, he gulps loudly "Look here, everyone! Just because I am not the captain anymore doesn't mean you guys can injure another player, I will be watching you all! Do you understand?!" I ask loudly, "Yes! Captain!" they all answer except Jackson, "Good!" coach comes near us, "See, you can handle them without any problem, you should join back again," he tells me, "sorry, coach but no," I say and walk off.

They start again, and Scott regains his feet, catching the ball, shocking everyone, "Go! Scott!"  I cheer for him. He catches the remaining balls too. Jackass forces his way to the front of the line, I frown, he takes a running start and hurls the ball toward the goal, Scott swoops it up as easily as the others, and I cheer loudly for him, the rest of the crowd, cheers loudly. Later, we both were walking through Beacon hills preserve, "It seemed like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball" Scott said, "I can hear and smell more clearly, like the mint fresheners in your waist bag" I knew I had mint fresheners in my waist bag, seems like his werewolf ability as coming out.

"I think I might be an infection, flooding my body with adrenaline before I go in shock,"  said Scott, "are you stupid Scott?" I ask him, "I think it might be lycanthropy", Scott looks sacred, "what is that?" he asks, "it is an infection that causes when someone is bitten by a wolf or more specifically werewolf, change in wolf on the night of the full moon" I explain to him, but he just looks like 'stop joking', "Hey! It's true! Scott, listen, some things we may find unrealistic but are real, you can't just ignore them, why do you think, you have these enhanced senses? I am not joking, Scott" I tell him again.

"We are here," he says looking around. "but where is the body, Scott?" I ask him, "it was here, right here," I said, looking for a body, "Maybe the killer moved it" I suggest, "let's just look for your inhaler" We start looking for his inhaler, "Hey!" someone calls out, I turn behind to look but end up knock over someone strong chest, I feel myself fall backward, God, I will hit my head, but an arm catches me by my waist, that's how I ended up chest against the chest with a handsome stranger, I take a deep breath, accidentally inhaling his scent, he smells of woods and rain but a mix of soap.

I step back from him as my heart starts beating fast, "thanks for catching me" he doesn't reply, "what are you doing here? This is private property" he asks, "uh, we... We were searching for my friend's inhaler" I said, looking at him, I realize that he is Derek Hale, he then tosses the inhaler to Scott and strides away without another word.

We both were going home, "Dude, that was Derek Hale, he is like 6 years older than us, his family died during a fire accident like 10 years ago". Scott left after leaving me home, I practiced some archery and some firing with guns I brought when I was 12, in my underground hideout, it was soundproof with spells I learned from books Sophia gave me, I just perfected my teleportation which I prefer calling apparition, at first I wanted to apparate to my room but ended up in the living room, but now I can apparate correctly.

Later, the next day, we are on the practice field, I was going to join the team again, and the coach explains that this practice will determine the player of the first line. Scott and Jackson play head-on, and Scott shows off scoring with his new abilities, the coach announced that Scott is going to be in the first line, and I make it as supervisor of the team just as before.

Later, after school, I was doing research on werewolves and found some complicated stuff, Scott came in, and I explained to him how he shouldn't be outside during a full moon and told him to cancel the date with Allison, he flipped out, nearing hold my throat, but scratched the chair and run out.

"Hey! Danny! How are you?" I said, on my phone call with Danny, "Hey, good, how about you?"  he asked, "Just fine, hey, do you wanna go to Lydia's party with me? Scott is taking the new girl, just until we reach the party" I ask him, "Sure, I will pick you up"  he answers, "thanks, Danny, see you, bye!" I hang up, pick an outfit, and go take a shower.

After Danny picks me up, we arrive at the party and go our separate ways, I just stand in the corner, observing Scott for any odd behavior, he is dancing with the new girl, Allison, and suddenly, he pushes her away and runs out, I run after him, I reach his room, dumbass locked his room, "Scott! Open the door, don't make me break this door!"  I yell, "No! You've to find Allison!" he yells back, that son of. "She got a ride don't worry! now open the damn door!" I yelled again.

"I think I know who bit me, it's Derek, he is the werewolf," he said, "what proof do you have, dude? You can't just accuse someone you just met! And if it's true, then your little girl just went with him, what are you gonna do with it?!" I told him, It suddenly fell silent, I can hear him jump out of the window, and that dumbass, oh God, I open the door with magic, I sigh out of annoyance and frustration. I go back home, I am tired of this shit.
