chapter 5

Opening my eyes to my new reality of staying within a small cell surprising wasn't all that disappointing . Despite being severely dehydrated and injured , it was still batter then waking up in hell hole I called home . The scent of food wafted through the air , causing my stomach to growl in desperation , but I couldn't bring myself to take a bite . I glance at the small portion of rice , sneering in disgust as I started back at the ceiling .

I wonder how long it'll take for me to wither away . Surely no werewolf can survive without food and water forever . Our bodies still need nutrients , just like human's . Maybe Hades plan on starving me to death . sighing , I closed my eyes and willed myself to go to sleep , but I couldn't . My mind going a mile a minutes with what - ifs , wondering how my pack was doing . They're probably glad that I'm gone ; my disgusting face won't make them sick to their stomachs anymore . I let out a choked sub . Is anyone ever going to love me ?

When I wake up again , my cell door was pulled open and a guard walked in . He didn't say anything as he grabbed my arm and yank me to my feet , dragging me to only gods knew where .

" why can't you guys let me lay on the ground ? " I snapped .

He raised an eyebrow , " Well , if you're going to recover fully , then you should lay on bed . The ground is filthy anyway . "

" Why do you care ? "

He sighed . " I don't really , but she want us to ensure you remain healthy . Here , drink this "

" Your food will be here in an hour .Actually eat this time , " he said , ignoring my question .

I frowned as I looked at the vile . Who in the world cared enough to help me ? And how was I supposed to drink this if I was laying flat on my back ? I groaned . i was going to have to do this myself , wasn't I ? I slowly but forced myself into a sitting position . I leaned my back against the wall , panting from the amount of strength it took for me to actually get to this point .

After I could breath like normal person , I grabbed the vile and stared at it . Oddly , it tasted delicious .

I woke up to sharp pain in my abdomen . It felt as if my stomach had been lit in fire , and nothing could relieve the pain . I scratched at my skin , my brain convinced that that would help get rid of it whatever this pain was . However , I only tore my skin open as blood began flowing out . I let out a small groan as I slumped against the wall , growing lightheaded from the blood loss . Eventually I closed my eyes , falling into unknown .

When I wake up again , there was sunlight shining through the cell window , causing me to wince . I slowly pulled myself up , realizing that my body no longer hurt as much , allowing me to feel somewhat free . I sighed in relief . Whatever it was that she had given me , it had healed me fairly quickly . I leaned against the wall against the wall , almost out of breath , too weak to stand and walk . Closing my eyes , I swallowed , feeling sick after just moving a little . What in the world happened last night ? I had gone completely savage on myself , tearing myself open like some sort of carcass .

I snapped my head up as someone unlocked the cell door . The guard from yesterday stepped in with a look of concern .H quickly rushed over me , kneeling beside me as he studied my new wounds .

" What happened ? " he questioned .

I stared at him for a moment . " My abdomen was in so much pain that I clawed it - as if that would help ."

He furred his eyebrows and lifted my shirt . After checking on it , he sighed . " i'm going to get you a new shirt . How are your bones felling ? "

" Healed . "

" Good . "

Before he could leave , I grabbed his wrist . My grip wasn't strong at all , but he stopped anyway . He turned and knelt again , his eyes urging me too say something . " Why are you and whoever gave me that vile , helping me ? " I questioned .

He gave me the sad smile . " Because she doesn't want you to feel any pain . Sadly , the pain in your abdomen .... she had no choice when it come to that . It's the bond working . None of us understands why it cause pain like that . She's trying to figure out a way to free you , but right now he's not listening . "

" He ? "

"Alpha Hades . "

I swallowed . " oh , right . Go figure . "

He got up and left , closing the door behind him . I leaned the back of my head against the wall , my hair still soaked with sweat . whoever this woman is , Why is she trying to help me ? I don't know anyone outside of my pack , and I know a fact no one in my old pack switched to this one . Even if they had , no one liked me from my previous pack . I highly doubted a single wolf would help me . I shook my head . this was all too confusing for my exhausted mind . I snapped my head up when the door swung open again , revealing the guard and a girl around my age behind him.

" This is my younger sister , Anna . She's going to help you change your shirt , " he explained . " You're far too weak to do it - no offense . "

I gave him a thankful smile as he handed the shirt to his sister and left . Anna smiled warmly at me and knelt in front of me . her eyes held sorrow as she studied me.

" You know , she's trying her hardest right now . You'll hopefully be free soon , " she whispered .

" Who is she ? "

" I can't tell you . "

I was frustrated , but I didn't show it ; them knowing wouldn't help my situation at all . Instead , I listened to every order Anna gave me as she helped me change my shirt . Once I was changed , I slumped onto the bed and laid down , my vision becoming blurry again .

" Rest ," she urged as she patted my shoulder . Then she left .

I closed my eyes , welcoming the darkness
