Bankrupt

Back home, Silas and Elmer were huddled together on the small couch placed near the window of their room. Silas was leaning on Elmer while Elmer had an arm around him looking up at the moon.

"Hey Erelis "Silas called softly almost like a sigh while playing with Elmer's fingers.

"Calling by that again? It's the second time I have heard it." Elmer raising his eyebrows looked at Silas.

"Doesn't it sound like mixture of our names?..mmm and it means eagle in Lithuanian language which just comes from your name Amell. Don't you like it?" Silas looked into Elmer's deep blue eyes like night sky beaming at him.

Elmer chuckled patting Silas' head "You know what? You look like a little kid asking for coddles ."

"Can't I?" Silas looked doe-eyed at Elmer.

"My puffin can act as he pleases. I am always there for you Asher" Elmer spoke seriously with a firm tone as he really wishes Silas can be himself in front of him.

Silas broke into a wide smile as he snuggled into Elmer's arms,"Ok my emir."

Elmer just indulged Silas' actions as he closed his eyes thinking of the enchanting place where Faye took them. "What did you wish for puffin?"

Silas just rubbed in his arms replied softly,"hmm...same as you." Elmer just smiled as he knew what he was talking about. It is really magical how they who are not twins can have such spiritual connection. "Faye is still adorable as always."

Silas also remembered everything that coursed through today, " Yeah still our usual Faye thinking about us. Guess what she might have wished for?"

" What we wish for to come true."

Silas and Elmer just stared at each other smiling having the same thoughts.

Aika POV

I feel like I am living in a dream these months. Don't know how long it will keep going. Spending a happy childhood evoked all my most treasured memories of my life that I sometimes forget whether what happened in my past life wasn't just a dream.

Today Uncle Forbes came to talk to my father about business while we children were sent away to play. Why do I feel like I am forgetting something like an important event took place or something that led to it. As I pondered, the day ended while I laid down on my bed covering my eyes with one hand.

Oh no....just remembered. My father's company would go bankrupt due to some loss in investment which even indirectly involved some major criminal organization and we would have to move away to mother's hometown. Though the Forbes family were willing to help, my father was embarrassed and wanted to start anew on his own capabilities.

Can I stay with them all the time if I convince my father to not make the investment? Will I get to be with them a bit longer? Well let's see how it goes..mm~

For a few days Aika came up with many plans to prevent her father from investing. She didn't remember which investment it was as she was little at that time and after such long time she didn't want to think of the incident which adversely changed her life so all she could do is to stop her father from investing in anything for a while.

Another day to convince her father. "Father can you not do any new business for a while and play with me?" Aika whined clinging to her father's arms.

"Why so sudden? Your friends didn't come to play? And father not papa?" Her father asked amused with her sudden clinging.

Aika stiffened for a second before she acted spoiled. She almost forgot that after they moved away her parents didn't have time for her and with her mother's strict training of etiquette like a noble lady she totally forgot how to be cared by her parents. Though she tries act like spoiled child as she was when she was little but she still can't integrate into the family not after what she went through.

"Father stop changing the topic. It's been so long that you have taken me to play and can't you just stop your work for a while? You are so busy everyday and Sil and Elm have upcoming exams after the vacation" Aika said pouting shaking her father's hands.

" Here I thought little princess of our family grew up...forget it. Only this one month okay?Let's go for a trip " her father sighed stopping his work for a while planning their family trip.

"And no taking new jobs, no investing I mean really no new work" Aika said putting a serious expression on her cute baby face like she was not taking no for an answer.

"Okay really becoming more spoiled day by day...is it due to your Uncle Forbes?" her father condoned her actions.

Aika immediately smiled happily as she got what she wanted. She immediately ran away to her room. Her heart was bubbling with expectations as so many thoughts run through her mind "Can I really be with them for a bit longer ? Do I get to see them all the time? " She grinned from ear to ear giving a bit child like innocence to her.

Silas and Elmer also noticed that sometimes Aika will just grin to herself lost in her own world.

They just thought it must be because of their family trip after all they also heard from their father. But they never saw her this excited for a trip. Maybe its because after a long time she gets to go for a trip. Little did they know all she was thinking was that maybe she wouldn't have to be separated from them this time.

After a long vacation of being away from her two sweethearts, Aika really missed them and she sometimes regret why she had to go so far away for the vacation. But when she thought she won't have to leave them this time she again says to herself cheering up, "Have to pay a little price for the long future."

After the vacation, Aika, Elmer and Silas spent their time like usual going to school and playing together just that Aika became bit more clingy.

After two months passed away, Aika felt she changed her fate but one day her father came home with fretful expression totally whacked. She had a very bad premonition that something happened which she didn't want to know at all.But she stilled in place hiding behind the door.

Her mother also sat with a worried expression as she discussed with her father about something. She didn't hear a word after hearing the word 'bankrupt'. She was in a muddle as she couldn't register anything in her mind. Hearing the word 'move away' she came to her senses and dashed away from there like running from reality locking herself in her room. She slid down as she brought her knees to her chest burying her head in her arms as tears ran down her cheeks and something shattered somewhere in her heart. She couldn't even make a voice as she silently sobbed thinking to herself, "Is it too much to ask for? Am I being overly selfish?" putting a stop to some delusions which may have recurred after her rebirth.

Her eyes became empty as she silently screamed as she kept on reminding herself for what she made those countless prayers and she should have known long ago everything was her delusions which shouldn't exist as she didn't deserve..

Staying quiet like that for awhile a lot of thoughts passed through her mind or she wasn't even thinking anything. She feels so empty as she stood up again reaching the balcony letting the moonlight shower her as she felt herself becoming more numb as time passed slowly. She reorganized herself burying all the heavy sorrow deep in her heart as she firmed herself to only think of fulfilling her oath from now on. Maybe she can be liberated after that.

All her emotions got locked deep inside her as she changed herself locking away any longings. With a wandering mind and empty feeling she huddled under the blanket fully covering herself as she want to be away from this world all to herself for a little longer before she could be brave enough to face what's to come , her fate.
