Evie kept shivering violently like that for a few seconds then she fell to the ground unconscious. Myra immediately wanted to carry her up when her hand got burnt severely by the heat of Evie's body. Evie's temperature at that moment was not human. Her body was so hot that steam had started to form from her skin.Gorge ran to his room to get a thick winter jacket to rap around Evie so they could carry her to her room.
After they had successfully carried Evie to her room, laid her in bed and successfully prevented themselves from getting burnt by Evie's inhuman temparature, Myra shouted like the boss she was,
"Susie! Get me a bowl of cold water and a cloth to wipe her body." Susie nodded without complaining at the fact that her mum was yelling unnecessarily because she understood the urgency of the situation. "James, go get the first aid box from my room..........quick!" She frowned and lowered her voice at the realization that she was shouting.
"Sweet heart...." Gorge started but was cut of by Myra.
"Not now. Let's take care of her first." She said and he nodded. Joy was standing at the opposite side of were Myra was kneeling and looking extremely worried about her sister. Nobody was willing to leave Evie's room right then.
When Susie arrived with the bowl and cloth, Myra immediately dipped the cloth in the water and started wipping Evie's body with it. She kept doing that for a few minutes when Evie's temperature then drop to a deathly cold one. Joy and Myra who were closest to Evie felt the chill coming from her body without even touching her. At this point Joy was visibly scared.
"Mum...are you sure we shouldn't take Evie to the hospital?" Joy said between her sobs. She didn't understand what was happening bit she knew from the grave looks on h3r parents faces that it was something serious. Her twin brother started crying too because he didn't like the sudden mood and he didn't like that Evie was not waking up even after hearing him and his town's sob, which was very unlike her.
"Yes, I'm sure honey. This will surely blow over in a few hours. Your bug sister is strong. This won't affect her." Just like Myra had said, after about an hour Evie's temperature rose from that terrifying coldness to a normal one but she was still unconscious.
"You guys should go to bed now. Don't worry, I would take care of her." Myra said.
Susie stared at Evie for a long time before sighing. "Alright. Good night mum, don't exhaust yourself too much." She said looking intently at her mum. Her mum nodded in understanding then Susie left, taking James and Joy out of the room too.
After a few more minutes of silence, Gorge picked up his wife because he was sure her legs were numb from kneeling in the same position for hours. He took her to their room and laid her on the bed.
"Are you alright, honey?" He asked
"Yes, I'm fine." She answered.
"I have a hunch." He started.
"So do I."
"Then you go first."
"She met a... a Lycan.....or a vampire."
"I was thinking the same thing. The only difference between our thoughts is that, I think she met both." Myra's eyes widened as the realization dawned on her. Of course! That's why the reaction was so extreme.
"Vampires are creatures of fire, right? Well most of them are,"
"Causing the extremely hot temperature." Myra completed his statement.
"Exactly. And Lycans are cold creatures. Ofcourse some of them are not but only few are. Thus, the extremely cold temperature." He sighed. "Do you think~"
"No." She cut him off. " She doesn't need to know...... yet." She said, exhausted.
"Alright love. You just get some rest, okay?" He said then gave her a light kiss on her lips turned off the lights and drifted into sleep with his wife.
***Chris's House***
Chris and Caleb had been watching Evie since she went to prepare dinner. They watched in silence till Evie's parents had left her and gone to their room, then they stopped watching knowing there was no reason to keep going.
"Well damn." Chris said.
"Damn!? Damn, my friend, is an understatement! I knew it! She's the one! She's her!" Caleb was shouting his voice full of relief, excitement and wonder. "Our long and annoying search is over! There'll be peace between our races again!" He was almost crying from relief.
"How come it's someone like her though?" Chris, who was calm said looking like he was calculating something in his mind. "I was expecting someone a little less.... jovial." He sighed.
"It's one hundred percent better than nothing!" He said to Chris. "Learn to appreciate things more Chris." Caleb said and sighed.
They both sighed together knowing what they had to do next. "Let's make a plan." Chris said and Caleb sat down to listen.
"First we have to keep her close to us. The rogues must not get to her first because with that reaction, I'm pretty sure she already exposed herself." Chris started.
"Meaning, the rogues are looking for a way to get a on their side now?" Caleb smirked at the words he said. "To bad for them, we already met her." He said then chuckled lightly.
"There really isn't anything yo plan just yet. We just have to keep her close to us and start telling her little by little. There's nothing more we can do but watch." Chris said and fell deep in thought.
After a minute of silence Caleb called out. " Hey Chris, I'm still here. Mind sharing your thoughts. I'mreally getting tired of looking at your expressionless face.
Chris just have him a look and said he'd retire for the night. Caleb sighed going his own way after Chris left him. *That guy would never change.* He thought and laid down to rest, not that he needed to. His kind could go days without sleeping. He just didn't have anything better to do at that point so he slept.
