In reality, a lot of such cases had occurred earlier. But, they were all considered missing.  They were only from Western areas of forests in the kingdom. After that, it started happening all over the forest. There is no such thing as called safe area from those demons once you’ve stepped out of the territory of the kingdom.

This proved that there was more than just one demon in the forest. But they didn’t have the power or courage to directly attack the kingdom. This was because of an ancient artefact, which formed a barrier to protect the kingdom.  This holy barrier around the kingdom protected its people from all kinds of invasion.  It also prevented the demons from attacking the kingdom.  But now, even the power of the ancient relic which maintained the barrier was diminishing. Only the royal family and the highest temple priests and the Saint knew about this. Finally, this news reached the king’s ears. The king became very perplexed and worried due to the situation at hand.  If he isn’t able to find a way through this then, the kingdom will become a food feast for the demons. Humanity might end and the world will be doomed.

There was another problem. The public couldn't be kept in the dark for long and the information regarding the demonic invasion leaked. This caused a huge uproar from the public.

The king let out a sigh. He was walking to and fro in his study.

Then, there was a knock. The king asked, “What is it now?”

The personal servant of the king replied, “Your majesty, the queen is requesting an audience.”

The king asked, “Right now?”

The servant replied, “Yes, your majesty.”

The king let out another sigh and said, “Let her in.”

The queen, Laxmi Rani, entered the study hall.

“I could hear you sighing from outside. What’s wrong?” the queen said as she kissed the king’s forehead.

“Haa… Oh! My queen! You already know about the holy artifact weakening but now even the demons have come back! And they have even started attacking our periphery! All the areas surrounding our kingdom except for the Eastern side are attacked by demons. And because of them, I can’t even go hunting anymore!”

The queen kissed the king’s forehead again and said, “This is very dangerous. But, you also need to take a rest.

You told me that there are no demons on the Eastern side of our kingdom. How about you take sufficient numbers of men with you and go out hunting?”

The king’s eyes sparkled. He hugged the queen and said, “Oh my Laxmi! Mmuah~. You are so great! I almost forgot about that! That is such a good idea!”

But what the king didn’t know was that the Eastern side was the most dangerous of them. A high-tier demon (The demon queen), who got fed up with the rotten meat she had to eat every day, sneaked out of the palace and arrived at the Eastern Jungle of this kingdom a month ago. She ate up all the birds and animals without exception. Now that the demon queen ate up everything in the forest, she was curious about how humans tasted. She was a high-tier demon, who was capable of using magic, with the highest-grade intelligence among the demons. She also knew how to speak human language. Her mother was killed in a battle between demons and humans about 200 years ago. Since then, her mentor always said that humans are cruel and pathetic and deserve to die and be eaten by demons. She was fed up with this same lecture over and over again. So, she ran away from the demon castle.

She also ate people travelling in the forest.  Since she was curious about human lives and also wanted to eat more humans, she waited till an envoy of travellers went by.  It was the merchant, Srivastav’s caravan! She appeared in front of them. Looking at her, anyone could tell by her hideous appearance and a large body that she was not your average demon. It would probably take half of an army to fight her. The merchant’s group shivered in fear. The demon queen looked at them and tried to talk to them. She said, “Hello, humans! I am the demon queen. It is your honour that a demon queen is willing to talk to you all pests and also eat you. Now tell me-” Her words were cut short by the escort chief, Kunal. Kunal who knew his death was near, chose to fight the demon queen to death and save his liege by giving up his life.

"P- Protect our liege!!!" He and the other escorts charged towards the demon queen together.

Their attacks enraged the demon queen. She roared, “You….YOU, WHO ARE LOWER THAN THE PESTS!!! HOW DARE YOU TRY TO EVEN TOUCH MY PRISTINE BODY OF DEMON QUEEEEN!!! DIEEEE!!!!!” ROAR******KABOOM

The whole jungle shook by her roar.

The demon queen proceeded to use her magic. She collected the memories of the dead people she ate.

[At the king’s castle]

The king, fully prepared, marched into the forest, oblivious to what was in front of them. Suddenly, the ground trembled. They also heard of the roar the demon queen. Everyone started discussing what it was. The king and the general had an urgent meeting regarding this incident. The general was against this expedition but, the king wanted to go on this expedition even after knowing the risks. At last, the general had to give in. The king set out

for his journey once again.

What will happen to the king, who is set out on his journey to the jungle even after knowing the risks? What kind of change will his idea of killing the queen bring? Will he die? What will happen next?😳😱
